I don't understand how EXO has always been looked down upon when they produced such quality music since debut days. The MAMA debut was bomb, Growl was and always will be a top notch song as production value, singing, dancing, visual, everything. EXO's talent is up there, high up there. I think they're one of the best group vocally.
It's because except chen, D.O, and baekhyun, everyone else gets small part of the song. And some members like Sehun and Kai, I am not hating them but let's be honest, they can't really sing well. That's why people always looked down on EXO. Yes the songs are great, I love most of their song. The quality of the videos, dance, performance are amazing. But in terms of singing, well, again, that's the reality. The first time I was introduced KPOP, the thing that I realize right away is not all members great at singing. And it's not just EXO, most of the groups. But since EXO is really popular, people critize them a lot. Just saying tho. Still love them :)
Actually they have more good vocalists than most groups imo, there are groups that don't even have 1 strong vocalist and Kai is not a horrible vocalist either, he's just nowhere as good as the rest but he has a pleasant voice and well yes Sehun is lacking in that department but he has other talents.
I don't think the remain members have bad vocals at all. Even as a rapper, Chanyeol's vocal technique is still better than most average kpop idols now. Sehun is not good at singing I admit but his dancing and visuals are no joke. Other members showed their singing talents through some solo and collab works too, like Suho's Curtain, Lay's solo album, Xiumin's Call You Bae etc.. Baekhyun, D.O. and Chen may sound a little average somewhat in EXO's songs, but they are very high quality vocalists. Their technique is between proficient to good vocalist, and definitely the best out of all groups that debuted in 2012 and after. So I don't get it when people said they have no talent when compared to other groups, they're way more talented.
I agree with you, EXO is such a well rounded group and they satisfy my taste. While I do enjoy other groups a lot they, somehow don't have what I look for, sometimes there's too much rap in their songs or their vocalists are too weak, their personalities don't reach to me or they don't make me feel anything or even their visuals could not be my style or they just simply don't have that something. So I'm pretty happy with them.
Dani R Exactly what i feel. I think that EXO is just fine. Chanyeol is known for being an idol rapper, but that's not the only thing he can do, he can sing, write, compose, acceptable acting skills, play piano, guitar, drums, etc. Also, i like that his rapping parts in the songs are really easy to listen to and dont ruin the mood with a sudden strong voice just like other groups do (it gives me a headache). So to me, it's still shocking how people say that only the vocal line is talented lol. Names are just names, yes, D.O is main vocalist but he can do other things like being an amazing actor. Lay is sub vocalist and main dancer but can also write and compose. Sehun hasnt gotten the chance to showcase his acting abilities, but im sure he'll do well and he's also a very good dancer. Suho is a good singer but can also act. All the members have hidden abilities that have showcased through all this years and still have things to show too. What people have yet to realize is that EXO is not just a singing, dancing, performing group, they are more than that, they are a brand and they can do many things with it.
they always have very fresh thoughts about kpop music, because they actually take it as a music, they analise it as some classical music, they don't only see entertainers with cute faces and nice bodies, but they also talk about harmonies and keys etc, they have more deep thoughts than most of the fans and that shows me some things i haven't noticed before. that is what makes this channel so special. please keep it up!

So naturally people started boycotted him and the likes, on twitter he denied everything but then has had no update ever since anywhere, blocks comments on his videos too so many people say that that's proof he's guilty. But as time went on, others (and me, personally, when I started reading about this) think it is still up in the air, because the selfie that supposed to be him in his underwear looks kind of blurry, I'm not even sure that it is him, and screenshots can be photoshopped. Also there were two other girls came out and said he did the same thing to them but offered no evidence, only claims. Edit: also, not confirmed that he knows the girl was underage (anyway even if he doesn't know, still very creepy to ask a stranger their underwear pics). Afterward that whole exposing thread was deleted so it makes some people feel like there's something dodgy going on. But even if MJKpop is proven innocent, he can't make a career out of UA-cam anymore because there will always people bringing up this scandal again and again, and you can deduce the effect from there. So guilty or innocent, he officially gone from the Kpop-react community.

I had the same conclusion when I was just getting into kpop. And that's why I prefer BTS because I like the individuality but I also like the less typical to their concept EXO songs. I am more critical of the music, and notice when it seems to sound too generic and "pop-y." I find myself wondering "what would Umu's music friends think of this?". 😉 That being said, I would like to nominate some songs/artists for reaction: for groups, BlockB's "Nillili Mambo," and Melodyday's "Kiss on the Lips." If they respond well to Day6, I vote for showing them "You Were Beautiful." I also see they will be hearing LYn - I would be interested to see what they think of the "Whenever, Wherever" song and video, especially the video. Finally, 3 solo artists I think have interesting sound: Dean ("Come Over"), Taeyon ("I Got Love"), and Kris Wu ("July" definitely and maybe vs. "Juice"?). Thank you again for all your hard work. They do write and composed songs, Lay and Chanyeol probably have wrote and composed tons of, but SM has limits on such area, so even if they're capable of writing and composing, it's still not guaranteed that they're gonna be able to showcase it in its full potential. And the composers and writers of their songs are fully credited and is recognized. If you're in the fandom you'd know how thankful we are and how we EXO-Ls makes a fuss over them lmao

I don't understand how EXO has always been looked down upon when they produced such quality music since debut days. The MAMA debut was bomb, Growl was and always will be a top notch song as production value, singing, dancing, visual, everything.
EXO's talent is up there, high up there. I think they're one of the best group vocally.
It's because except chen, D.O, and baekhyun, everyone else gets small part of the song. And some members like Sehun and Kai, I am not hating them but let's be honest, they can't really sing well.
That's why people always looked down on EXO.
Yes the songs are great, I love most of their song. The quality of the videos, dance, performance are amazing.
But in terms of singing, well, again, that's the reality.
The first time I was introduced KPOP, the thing that I realize right away is not all members great at singing. And it's not just EXO, most of the groups. But since EXO is really popular, people critize them a lot. Just saying tho.

Actually they have more good vocalists than most groups imo, there are groups that don't even have 1 strong vocalist and Kai is not a horrible vocalist either, he's just nowhere as good as the rest but he has a pleasant voice and well yes Sehun is lacking in that department but he has other talents.
I don't think the remain members have bad vocals at all. Even as a rapper, Chanyeol's vocal technique is still better than most average kpop idols now. Sehun is not good at singing I admit but his dancing and visuals are no joke. Other members showed their singing talents through some solo and collab works too, like Suho's Curtain, Lay's solo album, Xiumin's Call You Bae etc..
Baekhyun, D.O. and Chen may sound a little average somewhat in EXO's songs, but they are very high quality vocalists. Their technique is between proficient to good vocalist, and definitely the best out of all groups that debuted in 2012 and after. So I don't get it when people said they have no talent when compared to other groups, they're way more talented.
I agree with you, EXO is such a well rounded group and they satisfy my taste. While I do enjoy other groups a lot they, somehow don't have what I look for, sometimes there's too much rap in their songs or their vocalists are too weak, their personalities don't reach to me or they don't make me feel anything or even their visuals could not be my style or they just simply don't have that something. So I'm pretty happy with them.
Dani R Exactly what i feel. I think that EXO is just fine. Chanyeol is known for being an idol rapper, but that's not the only thing he can do, he can sing, write, compose, acceptable acting skills, play piano, guitar, drums, etc. Also, i like that his rapping parts in the songs are really easy to listen to and dont ruin the mood with a sudden strong voice just like other groups do (it gives me a headache). So to me, it's still shocking how people say that only the vocal line is talented lol. Names are just names, yes, D.O is main vocalist but he can do other things like being an amazing actor. Lay is sub vocalist and main dancer but can also write and compose. Sehun hasnt gotten the chance to showcase his acting abilities, but im sure he'll do well and he's also a very good dancer. Suho is a good singer but can also act. All the members have hidden abilities that have showcased through all this years and still have things to show too. What people have yet to realize is that EXO is not just a singing, dancing, performing group, they are more than that, they are a brand and they can do many things with it.

Satansoo Allegedly he sent revealing pics of himself to an underage fan and asked for her lingerie pics (she said she sent him lingerie pics she found online because she was scared or something). On the forum thread that allegedly exposed him, they got screenshots of the flirty conversation and the pics. So naturally people started boycotted him and the likes, on twitter he denied everything but then has had no update ever since anywhere, blocks comments on his videos too so many people say that that's proof he's guilty. But as time went on, others (and me, personally, when I started reading about this) think it is still up in the air, because the selfie that supposed to be him in his underwear looks kind of blurry, I'm not even sure that it is him, and screenshots can be photoshopped. Also there were two other girls came out and said he did the same thing to them but offered no evidence, only claims. Edit: also, not confirmed that he knows the girl was underage (anyway even if he doesn't know, still very creepy to ask a stranger their underwear pics). Afterward that whole exposing thread was deleted so it makes some people feel like there's something dodgy going on. But even if MJKpop is proven innocent, he can't make a career out of UA-cam anymore because there will always people bringing up this scandal again and again, and you can deduce the effect from there. So guilty or innocent, he officially gone from the Kpop-react community.

ReacttotheK Your series has really made me think about K-pop. I now feel like I can hear when songs are better crafted than others. I am more critical of the music, and notice when it seems to sound too generic and "pop-y." I find myself wondering "what would Umu's music friends think of this?". 😉 That being said, I would like to nominate some songs/artists for reaction: for groups, BlockB's "Nillili Mambo," and Melodyday's "Kiss on the Lips." If they respond well to Day6, I vote for showing them "You Were Beautiful." I also see they will be hearing LYn - I would be interested to see what they think of the "Whenever, Wherever" song and video, especially the video.
Finally, 3 solo artists I think have interesting sound: Dean ("Come Over"), Taeyon ("I Got Love"), and Kris Wu ("July" definitely and maybe vs. "Juice"?).

They do write and composed songs, Lay and Chanyeol probably have wrote and composed tons of, but SM has limits on such area, so even if they're capable of writing and composing, it's still not guaranteed that they're gonna be able to showcase it in its full potential.
