In terms of female-led action movies, I think this works way better than that Charlie's Angels movie because the stakes feel higher. If the girls in Charlie's Angels lose a fight, then they just look foolish for being so arrogant. If Michelle Yeoh or Cynthia Rothrock lose a fight, then they get hacked to death with machetes by a crazy, violent gang. It's a world of difference.
yep Charlies Angels was PG-13 , as opposed to these dark R-rated Hong Kong movies with Triads and Tongs

The translations are awful, the sound effects tacky, but the choreography is spectacular. Late 80's early 90's martial arts films are just great fun to watch.
