I'm wondering if you could do the same thing with a "roller chain" that has "attachments". Like a conveyor belt chain that allows you to bolt things every other link.
Cheers man! I have bought all the parts to finish it and should have it running in a few days and so far has cost me around $1000NZD, probably just under that, although I will be adding some heavy duty brakes to improve the maneuverability and a couple paintball guns on top to top it off.
Initially thought my headphone batteries were flat. Can hardly hear what your saying. Looks like a great build and using bicycle chain in my own project.
Very good design. What is the size of the roller chain used to make the track? Also, what are the dimensions of the flat plate used for the tread attached to the chain? Keep the videos coming.
+James Woodhouse Hey mate! Its just standard 428 o ring mx bike chain and sprockets with 15mm x 5mm sections of bar welded to the chains. I would recommend using non o-ring chains if you were going to replicate this as the rubber o-rings didn't really like the heat of the welding!
ZTR hydros work really good for building crawler tractors and snowmobile tracks make good tracks, but use hard rubber wheels for idlers that's my plans anyway, however using chains and sprockets is good too!!!! that's how struck crawlers were done Great job
this thing is absolutely amazing .and it has got so much potential ! if i was you i would like to instal 3 more chainsaws to have a full control . then i would buy an arduino platform with an easyvr module.(for voice control -and i would forget about that rc station) good luck !
Escape Gaming I think what John was asking, how is the drive going to be split, if it is only a single engine with no transmission then its the same as having a locked diff in a car and won't turn. He could possibly mount another two small centrifugal clutches on the rear sprocket with mountain bike disk brakes attached to each. That would give him some slip in the final drive line and independent brake control of each track. Good work EpicBuild.
+DrBwts Yea sorry about that I haven't had a lot of film experience and was just trying to figure out what levels and things to use with editing and it never really seemed to work.

What type of wheels most used? what kind of wheels are these? 3:12

looks really nice looking forward to seeing it go
Hi, can I use part of your video to my compilation homemade inventions and projects ?
Are you going to add steering ?

how can u weld these plat and chain?
and how thick was the plate you used?
Yea its slowly getting filled up!! Will need to expand soon ;)
hey how did you connect everything remotely ?
what size roller chain that you use?
Hello sir what is the size of the series and its name and thank you
good job. А вы не пробовали испольжовать трос?
for main track?
are those heavy?
+WaldRuR Extremely heavy haha! But it helped it get loooooots of traction
Cheers, I definitely am too
could this carry a person?

Thanks!! Definately been a long time coming but almost there
very good designt mikes..
nice track dude..
How do you tern
*turn. Spelling lesson #1.... You're welcome
Well my guess is, one side of the tracks rotate slower, or if your at a complete stop will rotate in opposite directions.
