Hit a perfect hybrid on the green in two from a little over 200 yards. One of my best golf shots. Still 3 putt my eagle opportunity so it all worked out in the end haha.
In my early fifties I went to hybrids on the course, and use the 3/4/5 irons only on weeds in my back yard. My enjoyment on the course kept high, and height of the weeds were kept low in the yard. Good video Rick, thanks.
I'm only 30 and have done that too. I don't have any long irons now. I was always injuring my shoulder and back by swinging too hard and fast, so now I do the effortless slow swing technique, but for that a different bag is required. So now I've got Driver 3wood 4wood 5 hybrid 7-pw in callaway XR OS (Massive heavy heads) A few wedges Mallet putter.

As a 4 with decent swing speed, I've always wanted to hit long irons mostly due to them being so pretty. BUT the way I can shape my shot with a hybrid is the main reason I switched!
Rick, Thanks for continuing to put up fantastic content like this! You should consider doing a more slow motion type video analyzing your swing or others to help correct them and show how each club should impact the ball. I think that would help myself and others really see what they need to be aiming for with their clubs / swing!
Thanks, Rick…have been using hybrid irons for a year now (I’m 68) and there is definitely an art to hitting them. I finally figured out the slight lean and putting the ball forward in my stance for more consistent ball striking. I’m working on slowing my back and downswing…speed is the key to better striking of the ball with hybrids for sure.
I put the 3 iron back in the bag. I couldn't hit the hybrid with any consistency. I have a two plane swing. Check Jack's long iron play (the greatest 2 plane swing ever).
Rick, thank you so much man. After 4,000 golf hits with plenty of intermittent breaks in the past 2 years, I was able to fix my consistent slice with your slice video. It was the best one solution for anything I needed. Thank you!

I really like the Vice golf ball. Great distance, control around the green. It’s not a bright whites and I think it kind of dulls up after use. I also think it’s not as durable as say a Titleist or Bridgestone.
Great comparison! While I am recuperating from shoulder surgery, I am looking to improve my game once I can swing a club again. Given my challenges of late in slower club head speed. I am considering going to a hybrid to replace my 3 & 4 irons. Very helpful video. Cheers!

Hi rick, have recently just found your channel, my head moves loads in my swing and as a result my body drops. Have you done a video that would help. Any help would be hugely appreciated
There's an at home drill I was given at a lesson to work on the feeling of keeping your head height still. Go lean your head against a wall and rotate your torso/hips back and forth. This will help feel the sensation and then step away and repeat without the wall aid. I do the same thing and didn't realize until it was pointed out at the lesson.
hard to diagnose without seeing your swing, your head moving might be a side-effect more than a cause, it could be you swaying through your swing or shifting your weight wrong and changing your spine angle, it could even be a result of compensation caused by your grip, again really hard to tell without seeing the whole swing in action.

Really useful tips. I have a 4 iron & a 3 hybrid, which I’m getting more confident with, rather than just using them to rescue me from a wayward drive!
That was a great video. I just bought new G410s. I bought a 3 iron crossover. I think it is very nice. I used to play junior golf when I was younger. But never really played to much with long irons. A 4 was the max as far as long irons go that I would use. I just got the standard shaft on my crossover. Going to talk with my golf pro & have him work with me to see if I need a different shaft. I have dynamic gold 120 shafts on the rest of my irons. They feel great. My 7 iron carry is avg. 185yrds. I've cleared over 192. Craziness isn't it? Love your videos Rick. Love the updated version of a fundamental video done a couple years ago! Still shows how relevant the information is while giving perspective on TODAY'S clubs. Nice work!
I've found myself taking hybrid as opposed to a long iron most of the time. If I have 180 yards left for example I'll hit a hybrid on about 75-80% power/effort. I just feel a lot more confident hitting hybrid. I wish I had ordered some slightly 'oversize' irons because my current set feel a bit 'too' short in relation to my stance.

Love you vids. Have shaved 10 strokes off my handicap since finding your channel! Thanks!
Enjoy your videos, Rick. Enjoy your accent just as much... “lun gyruns” :-)
Thank you Rick. Self taught, 9 hcp, long irons mid short I kind of get confused with all. Now I will be able to practice properly and go after some result. Thank you. Misconceptions gone now.
Rick: “if you do hit the ground its not going to take a divot”
Me: “Wanna bet?”
Thanks for this Rick! I just got my first hybrid in a long time (taylormade Sim) and this tutorial really helped. Keep up the good work 😄
Me: sees video
Also Me: immediately clicks on video
I JUST got a lesson on my new Ping hybrids yesterday and we talked about the same factors - great content as always Rick!
Great reminder video. I still play irons all the way through to 3 but still resisting the change to hybrids but you never know........
Great video and content 👍👍I was told to hit down with long irons and Hybrids ,when I’ve had success with these clubs it’s been with the sweeping swing
After many years of not trusting my Hybrid I just started using it this winter - what a wonderful club.
Hey rick. Thanks for all the videos you make, they really help me a lot and have made me improve my game heaps.
I wanted ot say thanks for the instructional video and taking the time to post them, I really like the way you explain things and go throught the instruction. What also made me even more appreciative was the honesty that you dont hit a fade or hit it often. This made me a subscriber and will use your videos to improve my game.
Rick I have to say thank you! all your videos have help my game so much! Just shot my best 18 in 5 years!
Used a hybrid on fairways for8 yrs, slowly helped me progress to a 3 wood of late.. Its always in my bag and is played with a lot on hangover days/ rounds.👍✌️🏌️♂️
I just bought a Cobra Speedzone hybrid 2 and OMG!!! What a club. Easy to hit, long and straight. Completely sold on hybrids now.
I'm a senior player and love my hybrids. I put Cleveland Halo's (19 & 25 degree) in my bag years ago. Just finally replaced them with TaylorMade M6 hybrids this week. Much easier to hit than long irons for me. My 6 iron is the highest iron in my bag.
This is exactly what I needed. I hate hybrids and will use a 4 iron any chance I get. Now that I have this as a reference I can practice with the hybrid.
Absolutely love watching your videos rick and basically you’ve got me back playing through watching your videos , they definitely have helped me especially when it came to my driving as I sliced a fair few but now I’ve become a lot better driver coz of you , I shot 85 last night which I think is good as I’ve only been back playing for about 3 weeks as I hadn’t picked up a club in over 2 years so thank you rick and keep up the good work
Hey rick
This vid helped me soo much
Thank you Please keep the practise vids coming
I have lowered my handicap down to a 3 Becoz of your vids
Thank you sooo mmmuuuccchhhh, WIN CLUBS💫😊
Just got a new set of clubs, first time owning hybrids. Was really struggling with them. I'm confident this will help.
I just picked up a 5, 7, and 9 wood from powerbilt. I’ll play them for the first time tomorrow. I’m a 15 handicap.
I’m pretty excited.
Ur videos have dramatically improved my golf game!! Love how u bring it down to a regular joe level. Keep it up man!!
Thanks mate. Your video makes me doubt myself less while golfing with hybrid
I use a 3 hybrid & a 7 wood as a replacement for long irons. I still have a 5 iron in my bag, but I just hit those 2 farther than irons, which is what my game needed.
Really useful tips. I have a 4 iron & a 3 hybrid, which I’m getting more confident with, rather than just using them to rescue me from a wayward drive!
Well stated Rick, I just got a Ping blueprint 2 iron and I definitely hit it well and I agree with the ball positioning as well under your left Peck
I'm a 4-iron hitter and my wife uses hybrids, this is a great video for the both of us!
I do love a hybrid makes my game so much more enjoyable. Thanks for all your hard work rick! ✌🏻
My 22° hybrid is one of the best clubs in my bag. The confidence I have with it in my had over a long iron, is tremendous!!
Rick - Love your tips. They have improved my game sooo much. Cheers!!
Keep up the outstanding work my brotha. My name Brad Sundberg. Live in Topeka,KS USA. Thanks a lot. Stay safe bud.👍
Love the updated version of a fundamental video done a couple years ago! Still shows how relevant the information is while giving perspective on TODAY'S clubs. Nice work!
Love your tips and tricks

Great video. I like the way you instruct the ball position relating to the sturnam and not feet or stance.
