This dramatic, slightly gothic sounding, orchestral melody in the background reminds me a lot of older songs like Thriller by BTOB, Beat by 100% and Error by VIXX. I don’t know what goes on in this song either, but absolutely love it. I get to know Elast because of Ateez and 100% happy about it. Watching their live performances you can feel that they really look up to Ateez in terms of “How you should Perform on stage” and in this era of kpop it is really very important. Music vise they produce something that i never heard before too. Hope they will get the recognition they deserve.

The E'last member you find so handsome is Romin (sub vocalist and visual)! For me, the member whose visuals impressed me in this MV was Baekgyeul (the one in red laying on the floor at the beginning of the video), sooo good looking 😱
i feel like their debut mv did the same, having a tighter budget at the beginning until they have a high budget set at the end. i am so proud of them btw, every song is progressively better, their debut had to grow on me and then i loved their first comeback way more and then they bring this. my favorite thing about them by far is the thorough use of strings, especially with the rap parts that's so interesting and unique. that second rap at the end with the purple and white hair guy (romin) gives me chills every time, the way his voice slides down but doesn't stay monotonous and is smoothly riding the sound of the strings which in addition has a beautiful melody. this song is a masterpiece in my opinion
You should really see the performance cause something that isn't showed in the MV is how Wonjun (red haired rapper) says "Dark Dream" close to Yejun's ear (Wonjun is sooo cool this era but in real life he's sooo cute 😭😭😭)
E'last is the only rookie group that got me.. Their songs reminds me of old orchestra/classic kpop... I hope they won't change their style immediately..
dark dream has a complex music structure. i think the chorus is from choi in's every day, every night to yejun's save me (yeah, pretty long chorus) and the song somewhat starts with the pre-chorus which is innovative.
They also have a sub unit song called The Beginning of Spring which is one of my favorites from them! I would love for you to check it out while you look into their b-sides!

Yes exactly I thought the same thing. It almost sounds like it has a first chorus then goes into a prechorus and then a second chorus. I really love Dark Dream. I think Tears of Chaos is still my favorite of their title tracks but Dark Dream is an extremely close second. But yes, I hope you check out their B sides. My Flower is one of my favorite b sides
I definitely see whar you mean about the structure of the song, the typical pop structure is still there but the song is so seamless that it's hard to tell on the first listen, it's just taking you on a journey, like you said, it's telling you a story without binding itself too much to a set of rules. That's what makes it so interesting to me, aside from me already loving their classically driven sound with their title tracks, something that is so unique nowadays that it's incredibly refreshing, it doesn't bore me. You also mentioned wanting to see a dance video for it, I recommend watching their dance practice and their Studio Choom performance. Unfortunately most if not all of their music show performances have been cut short, probably because the company wants to save money and/or because larger and more popular groups are prioritized by music shows, especially because this song is almost 4 minutes long, that costs more and takes up more time.

Elast are really my favorite rookie group because they are so refreshing and I believe that they're so talented especially when it comes to vocals because even the rappers can sing so well!! They have at least 6 top tier vocalists (though the 2 I'm lefting out are also great but I think their strength is rap!) So it's rare to find a group where no member feels like it's there just because. Their sound is amazing and their songs structures are crazy! I thought every day every night was the chorus and it was just a looooong two part chorus but that's the pre chorus! So the song starts like intro, a short verse, pre chorus, chorus! It's really mind-blowing!

Idk if you saw, but you should check out the song they made as a subunit which is E'LAST U - The beginning of spring. You'd be surprised because it has this ethereal vibe of their previous song, but it's a bit more soft and angelic. It's really really interesting. You would like it !
I've only just gotten into E'LAST today, Dark Dream being my first song. I'm already 5 songs into my E'LAST bungee and I am seriously impressed. I also cant stop thinking what if they were around in the 2md generation of Kpop? They wouldve defiantly topped the charts then.
im pretty sure Choi In said that the part at 8:09 isnt the chorus. He himself was shocked that it wasn't. the part at 8:26 is the chorus. (also, their b-sides are very beautiful especially the ballads)

You saying your favorite part was Rano's because it almost felt like it didn't belong in the song but in a good way reminds me of the rap breaks being the highlights of Tears of Chaos, which is a song that doesn't feel like it should have a rap break.

E'LAST is really always giving 2nd gen - 3rd gen vocals and music; it's really something I think everyone can use in their life especially if they didn't get the opportunity to experience this sort of music at its prime. Their concept, music and visual wise, is so impressive and nostalgic in a way.

This is easily one of my favourite songs from last month! And could very well end up being a fave song of the year! The feeling grows each time I listen to the song! The dark symphony and the choruses are just beautiful!😭❤️ And the raps and harmonies are executed so well! Songs of this vibe are my absolute faves!
