- An enhanced risk of severe weather culminated with a QLCS line of storms with multiple tornado warnings from embedded rotations.
Over 4000 j/kg of CAPE provided ample fuel for these storms to bring possible spin up tornadoes, overwhelming downpours, hail, and beautiful shelf cloud structures with an eye catching steel grey/green/turquoise hue to central Minnesota.
We meet up with a strong rotation and tornado warning in Cambridge MN and follow until the embedded mesocyclone/shelf cloud overtakes us.
It's so weird seeing my daily commute online. That was a strange evening, for sure.
Live in the Twin Cities. Didn’t get much there but saw all the warnings and clouds to the north
I've never heard tornado sirens in person. They're eerie enough listening to them in a video...
They always give me the chills, a mix of excitement as a weather enthusiast, but also anxiety as it shows there's a real threat of danger to the townsfolk
its so cool at the end of the video where the 3 inch per hour rain rates crash into like a wall
Greetings from East Central MN. I'm from a town about 25 minutes north of here, but I was in Cambridge for an an event that night. Got to the building right as the rain started and sirens started going off. Thankfully, the rotation was already east of where I was, and the building only lost power for less than a second.
@DeviltoGeorgia34 are you referring to Mora, MN?
@@Brad-f5p Indeed
@@DeviltoGeorgia34 cool... thats my hometown
Got into Cambridge, and the rotation was just east/southeast of where we were, and we got in position to intercept after we got through the town. Turns out just before the sirens went off, there was an EF1 tornado on the ground, albeit brief and likely shrouded in rain. You can find info about the days tornadoes here:

Where're you guys from?
We are from northern Wisconsin.
yup - extreme northern Wisco/Upper Michigan. Don't get much extreme weather by us (except for blizzards lol), but it's not too far of a drive to get to some good northern plains severe weather.
