This is Guinea Bissau, Africa You Don't See on TV

- Опубліковано 17 чер 2021
- Guinea-Bissau is a tropical country on West Africa’s Atlantic coast that’s known for national parks and wildlife. The forested, sparsely populated Bijagós archipelago is a protected biosphere reserve. Its main island, Bubaque, forms part of the Orango Islands National Park, a habitat for saltwater hippos. On the mainland, the capital, Bissau, is a port with Portuguese colonial buildings in its old city center.
The distance from Jegue border to Bissau is about 130km. It takes about 3 and half hours drive due to the poor state of the roads. Which is surprising because along the way there's about 5police stops where you will have to pay for the road at every stop. It's also advisable to have a 4 wheel drive especially during rainy season.
So let's talk a little bit about Guinea Bissau. Did you know that Guinea Bissau official language is Portuguese but is spoken by only about 11% of the population. The local dialect is creole
2. The main form of foreign exchange is Cashew nuts. Some people call it the cashew coast of Africa
3. 80% of the population is employed in Agriculture with cashewnuts be in my the major two ethnic groups being Fulani being at 28% and balanta at 23%,

Guinea-Bissau is now a crap country. I born there and back in the 90s, it was one of the cleanest country in West Africa. After the coup in 1998, we have to leave the Country. My mother goes there every year.
The best part of the Country is the Island of Bijagos, more than 70 islands with blue and green water and also Dolphins.

Beautiful documentary showing the beauty of Africa
Living in London. My parents are originally from Guinee Bissau but I have never been. This video has allowed me to discover this beautiful city. Thank you. Can we have Anastasio contact. I agree with someone commenting that you should encourage him to have his UA-cam channel on Bissau.
I'll be meeting him later will suggest it to him and pin his link
Sure since he can speak English he will reach far n we will support him
I feel sad when you said your parents are from Guinée Bissau , when you ask an Indian where you from originally they will tell you they are Indian even if they were born here they are so proud to be who they are , even Chinese , east European as well but when it comes to black ( my parents are …. I’m British ) same time white ppl if something happen to you they will call you Nigerian , ghanéen , Senegalese you are not one one them be proud of your colour , continent , your background something you will never change .
If today white ppl ask every black to go back where they are from are you going to stay in London or you will go together with your parents ? Born in America or Europe you still African ….. watch these UA-cam Chanel to educate yourself::: Blaxit of Gambia , Black acres of Gambia they are American but very proud to go back and live in Africa and call themselves African and you your parent are African you don’t wanna know about your land sad … stop saying my parents are from … you are from Guinée Bissau too .
From Guinea-Bissau here now living in Northern Ireland it’s a nice and calm country and also surrounded by nice friendly people.
did you guys observe the passion and pride the tour guide expressed when he was thanking the legend Amilcar Cabral 14:02 ? His legacy reverberates even here in Johannesburg, South Africa!
long live the spirit of our liberation heroes

I enjoy this video, sis. I am really moved, I'm deeply touched inside. I was born and raised in Guinea Bissau, Pessack/Bissacki around the lake. I travelled with my mom who is a Gambian in 2008 to Gambia, and since then I have been living and studying here in Gambia. However, I have been to Bissau quite several times to visit other relatives there and I just can't love it less there. I wandered all the places in the streets looking around whenever go there...a really nice county with sound people. I nearly shed tears watching this video. I think the most beautiful places in Guinea-Bissau aren't the offices, roads nor the monuments. It's nature. I was baffled by the greenest trees, the amazing EMPTY beaches and the rivers! You can just tell the soil is so rich

Beautiful Africa, Beautiful Bissau. The music got me very well.
Guinea Bissau looks like a country stuck back in time. No skyscrapers, and everything else is very modest. I have to say this is exactly what makes it unique and beautiful. Makes me nostalgic of our old Africa
I think it's just beautiful. It's a small population here. The population for the whole country is less than the population of Nairobi alone. I think the skyscrapers will be useless here.
The country doesn't need skyscrapers. Skyscrapers for what?? As long as the country have good roads, good infrastructures, a good health care system, good education system and a lot of jobs and opportunities for the ppl well than that's all that matters. How is having a skyscraper gonna benefit all of these ppl living in bissau ?? 🙄🙄
All that a country needs is good governance where there is peace and tranquility.
