If Sega doesn’t give these guys the next 3D Sonic as well, I’d give up.

I'm glad these guys aren't working for sega anymore. That company sucked the soul out of sonic team. Sonics a dead horse at this point because of it. These guys need a budget and to be left alone to cook.

Penny’s Big Breakaway has already become one of my favourite games, and like my 2nd or 3rd favourite 3D Platformer of all time. It’s SO GOOD.

The way they understand momentum and combine it with a lived-in, charming, goofy world with sick level design and mechanics - masterpiece🐒
Have u tried rollin rascal btw? This and Rollin Rascal have given me such hope for the 3d platforming genre
@@Mx.Monkey I did actually, that was a ton of fun, best sonic game ever made. I saw your speedrun, insane the stuff you can do in that game.
In a similar vein is one of my other 3D platformer favourites, Crumble. Super fast, and it has a grappling hook. I’d strongly recommend it.

I just picked up this game today and asked myself: “I wonder how far this movement can be pushed?” So I searched up speedruns and damn sis, you went way harder than I could’ve imagined!
P.S. how do you get so much height from your swing? It’s insane

n innit the potential for movement in this game is crazy!
In terms of jump heights from swings - the more ur able to fall through the air, the higher and further the arc of ur swing gets
Then u have to time the release so that penny follows the arc u want - release sooner and penny will go lower, release later and she'll go higher - ur looking in general for the sweet spot which depends on the jump ur making
Mess around with it and see what works for u! The first jump I use it on in this vid is a good place to practise
And after a lil while it'll start to feel natural

Definitely took some practise to nail the arcs but once u get it it's so satisfying! U got this 🔥
I tried speedrunning and discovered a potentially faster route at the beginning. after the first gap jump if you go right you can land on a construction platform that's kinda out of bounds and then jump to the next part of the level. but It is kinda hard to pull of.

Do you have any tips on jump out of swing timing? Whenever I try I get no momentum at all.
Mess around with it, try late releases, and do ur best to visualise/feel the arc of the swing - that will help u get to grips with the physics
You wanna be throwing penny as the yo-yo moves past her, sending her forward
You can then adjust the angle, and with practise should start feeling easier
And after a lil while it'll start to feel natural
Hope this helped

Currently im 110 on the leaderboard. How that one guy got under a minute ill never know lol.
There's a glitch u can do to gain a stupid amount of speed and skip big chunks of the level, it's pretty crazy, must be how they did it
Cus otherwise yeah like what the actual fuck lol
@@Mx.Monkey Must be, I saw one of the special levels has a 5 second record. Meanwhile im still trying to figure out how to bypass that first zipline lol.
Hey! Can you teach me how to ride that fast and how to you make your dash go that further?
Yesss, if u trigger ur ride at the top of bottom of a slope (I find bottom is faster), you'll get a lot of speed
If u jump before using ur dash it'll let u swing faster and further than if u used dash from the ground and tried
