Glad you like the blaster! If anyone here in the comments has SLAB questions, feel free to ask :)
i have a slab question.
what is the capital of ecuador?
Can we get some printed washers or spacer type things for the spots on the rear pin between the prints?
@@badcontent2567 Quito. You bet yer ass I googled that.
@@Rancid_Ninja I’ve considered making some, just haven’t gotten around to it. Maybe on the next file update :)
Great work! I'd love to see this turned into a replica of the rifle lever action rifle Chris Pratt uses in the Jurassic World movies.
its amazing how silly has everything open sourced
I like to innovate and push the hobby forward! Much of my success came from people like CaptainSlug and Taffy/Charamile Designs sharing files and design tips with me, so I like to pay it forward.
(1) Silly is amazing. Well done bringing him on.
(2) Performance blasters are great, but blasters like this one are really special. There is a whole community of LARPers and reenactors looking for aesthetically pleasing blasters that also perform to a reasonable degree. These enterprises often cap out FPS so the super high end stuff is out of the question entirely. Something like the SLAB, though, ticks all the boxes. It is only a matter of time before I get one.
Thanks from a repeat customer for the great review and the decision to bring in this creator!
Out of all the names the creator could've chosen for his handle... I commend him!
:) It was actually a username my mother came up with when I was a little kid playing flash games online. I like it, it fits me quite well.
Sillybutta does an amazing job and just a great person with my early questions building my own and coming up with my own hardware for it in the early stages...Glad to see him join the family here at OOD.....
:)
i Just got bak on the website for the first time in months, and It looks absolutely amazing! the new functions like the map are incredible resources to have!
I got a fully assembled SLAB from your store and I've had it for a little over 2 weeks and so far I'm really liking it. Probably one of my favorite higher powered springers to use. The lever action is fun and it's really comfortable to use

Finished mine last week and I absolutely love it. Can't wait to use it in 2023.
I went with a different supplier, however, and they did not make a remix of the threaded rod cap. Luke's change there for the cap to use a heat set insert is, I think, a MAJOR QoL improvement and will make building much easier, especially if you do not have access to a variable speed drill (which is what I used to get the threaded rod set into the cap). The HSI and maybe a small dab of *blue* (not anything stronger) loctite (make sure you do your linkage rod adjustments before the stuff sets) will make that part of the build a breeze.
The slab is such a good blaster and I expect to see a lot more people running them next year
Knowing that Sillybutts gets a piece of the pie, makes me want to get one all the more, because i support small business, and love seeing people's hard work reward them for it. Cheers!
O my goodness, I want one for Christmas! It's looks and feels so tacticool!
I just hope a full length version will come along sometime in the future...
I just built mine and im in love with it. I can't get enough of it!
Been watching this for a while. Nice to see it in your shop.
Omg that blaster looks amazing!
You should print one!
It is!
And suddenly UJ's channel was filled with nerf
I call silly a mad scientist, he’s always up to something cool
> insert maniacal laugh here
@@Sillybutts more like mechanical laugh due to your many AEG projects xD
@@Galaxy613 ;)
Just wait till he gets the AEB out. Affordable, printable AEB. Basically performance of a Wasp 76 but not looking like a MP40 and much smaller.
Looks like so much fun!
With the mag in, it looks like a cursed lovechild of a lever action and a STG-44 lmao 🔥
This blaster is a Masterpiece!
I love this from when I first saw it. I play competitively ever month in Brisbane. But nerf is never about just outright performance. It has to be fun, silly and competitive. This is 💯% what moden nerfing should look like. Hopefully will this will be my 2023 primary blaster. Love it.
Brisbane Australia? FYI I have a shop working on SLABs in Sydney, so you’ll have a more local supplier :)
This looks REALLY good.
When I first saw this blaster I immediately took out my cowboy hat, and my credit card.
Yee haw!
just finished mine! sillybutts is an incredible designer
;)
@@Sillybutts Thanks so much for your contributions to this hobby! i love my slab so much and you have designed SO MANY awesome blasters! I look forward to what you make next!
4:06 HEADSHOT!
While there are plenty of people working really hard to make the most high-performing and practical blasters possible, I'm glad that there's someone out there doing something like this instead. Maybe not the most practical, but it sure is fun. These are toys, after all. It's important to have fun with it.
:)
That mag is insane lol
Dialing in my printer while i wait for the hardware kit to arrive
That ticks a lot of boxes!
he forgot to mention that because it has a floating trigger you actually can hold it down and use slam fire.
If you swapped that orange out for yellow, you'd have Vault Tec colour scheme...
Its very unique, it look like a shot gun, ak 47, and lever action gun, Mash up in to 1
Hey did you get the Aliens Pulse Rifle? Its awesome
Awesome looking blaster. Now which colors to choose? 🤔
All of the colors, one color each part ;)
i'm a really big fan of this design but what i'd like to see on the shop is Captain Slug's Flak from a couple years ago! i was gonna get one but then he closed up shop and nobody is making them at the current time as far as i can find...
Is that the metallic green? I just ordered a Mighty Mama in metallic green as a birthday present to myself and that color is beautiful.
Ah okay that's the mermaids tail. I can't wait to see what the metallic green looks like in person lol.
Bro the o-ring 💀
What aboot it?
@@Sillybutts 0:22
@@ManualArms ah, that’s meant to be like that! It provides cushion to the plunger head when it hits the front of the turnaround.
@@Sillybutts ah i see
I would just like to say that I ordered some IMR’s about 1 and a half months ago and it still has not come even though it said arriving to destination on the 3rd of november
Sorry to hear that! Shoot us an email to orders@outofdarts.com . We'll be better able to find out what's going on from there.
Not really on other social media platforms so I dont know where else I'd ask, but Im curious to hear OODs opinions on the new Bambulab printers coming out. I know you have a huge prusa collection and with the speed/reliability features of the Bambu at a similar price I imagine its caught your eye.
From other channels I've seen they're hesitant because new, but excited at the possibilities of the output of essentially a 3x+ speed mk3s
We're actually testing an X1 right now, but we need to run it through its paces before we give any recommendations. Stay tuned!
@@outofdarts I’m interested in how it goes for you, I could use an upgrade :)
Wow
I'd put a scope on it and make it kind of a old west long shot/Sniper
Hi, isn’t the newest version of the sillypistol not able to pivot the magwell?
The new versions can still pivot! I'm just struggling with making the pivot as durable as I'd like it to be. I'm probably going to be doing a redesign of the blaster to make it slightly wider. More space for cool features, and I can use the skills I learned while doing SLAB development.
No that gets carried in a backpiece holster all day. Pull that out like Ash from Evil Dead's BOOMstick!
just out of curiosity, which spring is in the SLAB shown in this video? The reason I ask is because I bought the 180fps spring for mine and it sounds considerably different.
I believe that one has the 150 FPS spring. The sound can vary between different spring types, but there are plenty of other variables that could affect the sound.
I'm disappointed there isn't a short darts pusher on the shop for the Rapidstrike. : (
Hey I just had a quick question: my dormmates are having a dart war in their apartment and they have been using Nerf Rivals that shoot up to 90 fps, would it be fine if I use my Dart Zone Max Stryker Pro or would that be too much?
You guys plan to sell his pump skewer?
Will you offer the alternate parts options in the future?
We might consider it if there is enough demand. Right now though, we want to focus on getting the rest of Captain Slug's catalog of hardware up on our site and refine our process for providing kits of community designs.
@@outofdarts fair enough, Captain Slug does have quite a catalog of items listed on your site as coming soon
What's up with the oring in the plunger head? It always looks like it's popping off.
There are two O-rings. one is seated normally, and the other is woven in between the fins on the plunger head. Having them oriented this way helps balance air seal and friction for better performance.
@@outofdarts When you do an assembly video, if you remember, it'd certainly be appreciated if you could expand on this a bit. Thank ya'll
@@outofdarts The bent o-ring is actually just an alternative to using a silicone pad or foam for plunger padding.
@@garretsealey8093 The bent o-ring is meant to cushion the plunger head from the front of the turnaround when they slam together during firing. Basically a fancy replacement to a rubber shock pad.
@@Sillybutts I stand corrected. I made an assumption and guessed wrong, lol. - Perry
How could 5 people thumbs this down? How? Man, there's always haters.
How do you know that?
Wow. What's the feasibility of making a better version of the M41A, something that has a louder pulse rifle sound and without an oppressive motor sound?
Will there ever be an injection mold version? How strong is the 3D print?
I hope to do an injection molded one some time in the future, but it's not a priority or a guarantee. The 3d prints are very strong, I designed the SLAB to be very sturdy and durable. Don't go using it as a baseball bat, but it should survive the occasional drop and fall.
@@Sillybutts ah nice to hear that
is there a pistol grip version/mod? or n-strike attachment stock version/mod?
Not currently. A lever action with a pistol grip would be very, very uncomfortable. But the thought has passed my mind before, just for the lols.
are you ever going to have perses battery chargers back in stock?
Probably not. The Perses blaster has been discontinued, so I don't imagine we'll be stocking them anytime soon. If you follow our mod guide, however, you can convert your Perses to take LiPos, which have much more readily available charger options.
Can I apply for a job in your guys warehouse. I'm currently working for utz in pa, and it would be a dream job to work with you guys!
Can this be shipped to Hong Kong?
We need to new blaster
bolt action sniper would be sick
I have a few bolt action blasters WIP.
Are worker gen 3 darts better than dart zone darts?
We highly recommend the Worker gen3+ darts. Their dart head retention is second to none, and the firmer foam makes them last a lot longer.
@@outofdarts Thank you for your time in responding.

Shut up! And Take my Money!!!
First
I understand a fully made blaster being 180$ but the point of 3d printing in my opinion is to bring ease of use and for people mabey a cheaper option 180$ for the parts tooo dam.expensive i could see like 60$ or mabey 80$ but aomost 200 is redicolous i mean. IIcan3d print a flyable airplane for around 68$ or a 3d printed drone for around.180$
I wouldn't call it innovative. It's not doing anything other designs haven't done before. Both the Medusa and FLAK did lever action before the slab, also the wingchester. The specific leaver design on this blaster coming directly from the medusa itself. I would call it an amalgamation of other designs with a easy to obtain parts list, and ease of print ability that results in popularity. The flak is limited by power, and the medusa has some large prints, and in addition to custom cut bars and rods, requires several different sourced springs, and a bit tricky to assemble.
You're right that there are other blasters who did lever action first. However, combining a lynx turnaround with a floating magwell like the FLAK allowed there to be a much larger plunger volume in a more ergonomic package. Innovations don't have to be completely original.
@@outofdarts I mean... medusa has a turnaround as well. In addition to interchangeable spring spacers that can change fps on the fly from 120-200. One thing I will say that I think the slab might do better is the trigger linkage from the chimera. On the medusa its adjustable, but sometimes It can come out of adjustment, and cause the plunger not to catch.
@@pintotheevil I fixed the trigger linkage on mine by cutting the dowel rod to a custom length without the adjustable piece. I also did an aluminum plunger tube since the acrylic one I originally got broke.
Can you get it without the slab name printed in the side?
I don't believe they sell it without the name, but if you print your own there is a file for the side plates without the name.
