'Alone among men they covet with equal eagerness poverty and riches. To robbery, slaughter, plunder, they give the lying name of empire; they make a solitude and call it peace.'
Idk why but this song always made me slightly sad. Even though it sounds so amazing. They made it sound so good it actually feels like your losing something important to your life as a whole. Most songs don't do that for me. Sabaton never even did that for me. Ngl only one who did this before was a Dragonforce song. Still, I think I know why. The Roman empires fall was one if not the greatest lost for humanity. If it never did fell I think we would be in a futuristic world. Its fall caused a spiral down into hell. The dark ages, plagues, crimes against humanity. Until the industrial revolution, the world was pretty hellish. The Roman Empire is not innocent of these crimes too but the way they advanced so fast in that era. The saddest thing is this is happing to my nation, America. America is so close to collapsing from all the riots and the virus. A new dark age is coming. For America and likey other nations because America has a lot of influence. So that's why I think this song makes me so sad. Because whats happened to Rome is happing to my nation. But yes if I had to say this is one of my favorite songs from Civil War. Only one almost toping it would likely be Admiral Over The Ocean. You know what scratch that, this is my favorite song. Because it hits in the feels and is different from most Sabaton, Civil war songs.
In my country, we have a saying: "Fear nought." Rome went through many events such as this before it collapsed, we have a long way and a lot of prosperity ahead of us once this crisis is resolved. We just need to hold on a little longer.

Couple of days ago I found this song random on spotify. Same feeling that I know this voice from somewhere. It is Wuthering Heights, definitly same person ua-cam.com/video/GZKLySZeHe0/v-deo.html
Funny how this song can refer to a really great number of events 387 BC (Gauls) 410 AD (Visigoths) 455 (Vandals) 476(Ostrogoths) 1084 (Normans) 1527 (Holy Roman Empire) 1870 (Kindom of Savoy) 1922 (Fascists) 1944 (Americans)
1943 Germans (the occupied the city following Italy surrendering to the allies many Italians joind the Germans other the allies it basically caused a civil war in Italy in the middle of ww2)
Have you SEEN the sheer amount of times Rome was captured (and sacked) during the medieval Gothic War? If it wasn’t for the letter sent by Flavius Belisarius the gothic king would have outright razed Rome to the ground
A picture of Attila would fit more than one of Rome 2, but is still epic.
Good video.

Its interesting how the Romans wrote this about themselves. Makes me like them even more.
@@caesargold3695 they didnt, it was some ancient scotish guy who fought the romans that this quote comes from lol

an empire who dosent die for the hand of another empire will die by his own hands

I do at some points
instead of just as sure as Rome is Falling i always hear Augustus sons Rome is Falling
Yet it would be left to Constantine the XI to hold the end in him palm.
