You are doing your part!
A lot of the cinematics are insured by classic movies. This one is clearly inspired by Starship Troopers, the marines boarding the science vessel takes from Alien and the intro to Brood war - the bridge scene from Apocalypse Now (who's in charge here? + the carnival lights on the trench)
Those people in blizzard knew their movies! These cinematics although clearly taking a lot of inspiration from other sources still can stand on their own.
Another moment from apocalypse now is that misión in wich you are chasing mengks and raynor into aiur, when You come in with a lot of valkeryes
Fun fact: Starship Troopers was released only a year before StarCraft. Thats some very direct inspiration.
00:40 BRAIN BUGS? Frankly, I find the idea of a bug that thinks OFFENSIVE!
At 2:08, the music and the video gave off a Disneyland vibe for some reason.....
Zergland! The new Disney Theme Park! Come see the Zerg enslaved by the heroic forces of the UED! Be in awe of the sheer size of Overmind and how Humanity has defeated it! All this and more at Zergland located on the lava planet of Char!
The UED should make a comeback soon and finally glass the living shit out of the Koprulu system
+TheKsalad The fleet they send was just an expedition. I think they will be the main antagonist of the 3th StarCraft and man are they going to be a threat.
Hey, look how much the expedition did to the Koprulu Sector. Imagine their entire Armada.
I don't think there will be a sc3
I would prefer it to be a fanmade campaign.
I want to see them as a fully realized 4rth faction. Not just repainted Terans. Like they should have different units, different tactics, different technology.
😂You guys paid no attention to Zerg's brood war ending? The reason why UED looked so strong is because they depleted the Terran and Protoss forces by sending the Zergs to Tarsonis - attracting the Protoss (led by Tassadar) to divide and conquer before going to the sector. Earth will never come back, the OG human commanders are all dead or infested.
Zerg wanted to invade Earth. Forget that Koprulu is unconquered by them and Earth is way far away. Nah, they want Earth. But our heroic forces repelled them.
That's how propaganda works.
Well, after the successful infestation of Kerrigan, the zerg became very interested in infesting humans. This is because many humans had psionic/psychic potential and some are more intelligent than queens/broodmothers/cerebrates so they were ideal to act as 'officers' under the swarm to better control zerg armies. Plus, after the interference of the UED, Earth can be considered a very serious threat to the zerg. So it is not unplausible that they would want to reach the Earth.
UED: Mission Accomplished.
@@ATOQ777 Are you sure the zerg knew about Earth before the UED showed up? Earth is on the other side of the galaxy.
@@averagefanenjoyer8696 given that Overmind was able to get memories out of all species he was interest in - it is possible that he had learnt about the Earth itself, but not about it's placement, though, as all data regarding that was deleted from ATLAS supercomputers.

Man... what happened to humanity that transmissions are in low-definition after 500 years? :P
“Vice Admiral Stukov truly knew the meaning ... of sacrifice.”
The Starship Troopers movie was released in 1997 and based on a book from 1959.
Star craft broowar was not released till late 1998.
yeah, so they pretty much copied it straight off the movie.
who cares man lover
@@DarkZide8 Early Blizzard's entire thing was borrowing the best ideas from other IPs and making something incredible with them. The entirety of Starcraft is very heavily influenced by Warhammer 40k. Warcraft took just as much influence, if not more, from original Warhammer.
All of their best stuff was extremely derivative. Doesn't make it any less awesome, but it's definitely important to recognize and pay tribute to the original works.
It's rather obvious this particular video was inspired by the Starship Troopers movie, yes. And it's not like StarCraft itself wasn't inspired by at least Alien, Predator, Star Wars and probably Warhammer 40K as well.

The only good bug is a dead bug!
I still think that "Star trooper" is a try to make a film realization of Starcraft. I wanna believe that after film Warcraft will be a Starcraft film.
For Mankind!
1:43 Stukov died young, so young that his age is in the negative
Indeed. I was trying to figure out if the date format was somewhat different from ours, but in the end they just used random numbers that made no sense.
Finally got those damn Tyranids...oh wait
Funny thing is that Jim Raynor, who for some reason portrayed as a hero, is the biggest villain that betrayed human race and caused billions of deaths. UED control against Overmind was a great chance for humanity to become the most powerful race in the StarCraft Universe. By moving against UED he helped restoration of a Mengsk's rule and Kerrigan's full domination over Zerg, which led to Second Great War. To sum up: he's responsible for billions of human lives that wouldn't be taken otherwise.
Which would explain why his personality is...different in Starcraft 2, considering the sheer losses he's had, the fact that his mistake made things oh so much worse and the betrayals...yeah.
If the UED wins, welcome to 1984. Shame on your, Raynor.
UED - the worst human government in the galaxy, with all possible problems
@@xxlCortez you mean UPL, its predecessor? UED is apparently a reformed entity, which - in my personal opinion that is partially supported by game's manual - is much less totalitarian; take almost any state on Earth as an example: it might have started by a cabal of ruthless monsters, as a result of a bloodbath, but eventually became more peaceful and democratic. Compare, for instance, China at the times of Mao and now, Soviet Union in 1930s and 80s, USA during 18th century and late 20th, etc.
@@boxtank5288 exactly. A lot of former revolutionaries reconsider their past actions based on their experience once they grow older and smarter.
Thanks for uploading a good quality version
Wow it's great that the UEN is saving earth!!!! The Zerg are defeated guys!!!
LOL, this guy sounds like the announcer from Rick and Morty's Saturday Night Live bit xD
"A hole in the wall! Where the men can see it all~" ;)
Look at the dates of his death and birth they make no sense.
Yeah is this some sort of reference?
@@circeowaggles You're answering a 9 years old question. Simply put, it is easy to assume the year on earth has changed due some sort of ''new era'' counting or a universal year system since solar system is a different time.
That's what I was thinking. Seems alot like a commercial from Starship Troopers.
Still feel genuinely inspired/patriotic from this. Blizzard really lost their way over the decades
Sigh... Not inspired/patriotic. Its satire of propaganda. So it is that the narrator's voice is muffed like in the 40s or 50s. SC2 sucks because its a boring love story, that I agree.
@@cybergothika6906it's all parody
Anyone else think this video was inspired by Starship Troopers?
Bet people back on earth were really sad and worried once they heard their UED fleet was destroyed later on!
Well, that fleet was only a small part of total UED forces.
@Alissa Cynthia salsabila, I highly doubt that.
It probably wasn't reported... This is showing a fascist earth with false propaganda. They would boast victory (overly done) and remain shut about failures. 90% of what is shown on the video isn't even what really happened.
@deltarecon062 yup their initial plan was a send a single fleet led by one of their best generals. When and if they return they'll come in full force. Multiple generals.
Now that I think about it, all three races in StarCraft have a hive mind. For Protoss it is their psychic link. For Zerg it is their biological hive mind. What about the Terrans? It is their mastery of media and propaganda which we know from both past and present history has been used to connect and control humans in society.
But this doesn't meant that they got everything in that sector. they should've used dominion and Raynor to stabilize the area. Also It was unnecessary to hostilze whole Protoss lol
Looking at this now, you can tell just how much of it is just propaganda.
+Al Potenciano Huh? It would have been clear from the beginning?
YodatheJedi12 Before I thought it really was just a news report telling things as it is. Boy did I not get a lot back then.
They lied about the death of Stukov, and exaggerated the strength of their UED forces.
@@andreyz2436 Stukov undeservingly died a traitor's death (having been framed and only being exonerated in death), the UED want to weaponize the Overmind and weren't able to kill all the Zerg (in fact, their hold on the Overmind is implied to be the only real reason they can hold Charr.)
The UED never wanted to kill all the Zerg, they wanted to control them through the Overmind and use them as an army to control the Dominion colonies the conquered. The UED would not have been able to control Dominion planets like Korhal, as human colonists apparently did not welcome them. Thats why they brought the Zerg they controlled into Korhal.
It's weird that there's zero mention of Mengsk and the liberatoin of the Dominion.
*ZEEEERRRRG!!!!!*
I think i found out how UED could bring their big guns to coprulu sector. Thing is, they would have to take a risk.
This way is.
Creating a wormhole that would link some place near solar system with some planet on the outskirts of coprulu sector.
Given the technology that UED has at home. It is entirely possible. Thing is. If it would go wrong, and the might of UED army wouldn't be enough, then it would leave solar system in range of attack.
iconic
1:13 이 장면은 영화 스타쉽 트루퍼스에서 디지의 우주장을 패러디 한것입니다.
the whole UED is a parody itself
TERRA FIRST.
like to be there
UED must re-appear
It always bothered me even as a kid that the Zerg casualties only numbered in the millions. That just sounds very low for how many Zerg must have been defending Char and the surrounding systems.
The final number you can barely read on the counter, rounded up is 1.9 Billion too.
If only they knew that Stukov got infected and sided with Kerrigan later on ...
I would like to see what this will become after remake. Im pretty excited
The UED did nothing wrong. RIP Stukov, you were too good for this world.
This shit makes you want to root for Kerrigan
Would you like to know more?
Could be
maybe starchip troopers copied form starcraft
They time travelled to 1998 and made the movie a year earlier.
ST came out in 1997, Brood War in in 1999.
Starship troopers copied this. Both versions are funny.
Starship troopers came out before BroodWar, I'm pretty sure it came before StarCraft original as well.
This is copied from starship troopers
*Inspired
Not outright copied. Heavily inspired.
always hated this part, don't like the way this guy sounds
