Dang woman, you are such a delight to watch and listen to. This journaling is something I need to do too and, set myself a daily time to do art each day that I can. You are so inspiring and I absolutely Love how you never get upset. What a healthy attitude you possess and I know it’s rubbing off on a whole bunch of us “Denise Love” groupies. You absolutely make my day brighter. Thank you 🙏🏻🎨🥰
Took me a lot of years to figure out what works for me… letting go of my expectations helped a lot. I used to leave my art table mad… now I lean into the joy of slapping paint down and being happy no matter where we end up. Some days it is a hot mess… and you can still save it by punching out hearts 🤣… so glad you are on this journey with me!! Thank you! 🥰
I just love how excited you get when the effects are revealed! It’s actually very inspiring. It’s a great reminder that Art should be fun and bring us joy; what other people think is not important. Our joy is. Love you.
I always get something creative for my own work when I watch your videos. Beautiful pieces in your journal. Appreciate your generous and creative spirit. Happy student of your Klimt art study, too. Thank you, Denise!
Love the colours of your abstract ‘bubbles’ Denise and the gold always does it for me! It just gives a piece of work that ‘pizazz’!! I loved the aubergine stencilling and would personally leave the edge because it looks like a frame 😊Fantastic to watch you paint as always 😍
Okay, so it is a couple of months after you’ve posted this video, and I am a new subbie and binge watching your videos. Wow! How did I miss all this jummy stuff? I am totally hooked! Thanks Denise, love all your work. Very inspiring. Don’t stop!!! 🌻🎶💃
I really enjoy each and every video you post! I love when you say "yummyness". You put so much joy and creative insight into your projects. I appreciate everything you do and look forward to seeing the variety and beauty you put out into the world. Thank you, Denise Love for the creative that you are! Inspiring and so needed.
I think some gold accents on the burlap page would be beautiful and help tie the two pages together. The punchenella really brought the first page together. Another great job!
This was fun and inspirational. I need to get more of what's in my head actually down on paper. My life can sort of be separated between living situations and interests. 3 residences ago was piano and lace making. 2 residences ago was lace making and dulcimer lessons. The current residence had piano, ukulele, and harmonica lessons until the pandemic; knitting when I retired; lots of drawing and painting now. Books and crocheting and photography woven throughout.
Who knew burlap and a stencil would look so good?! Great video, I just love listening to you natter on while I'm doing my own thing in the background. Thanks for sharing your time and inspiration. (I too, am a Denise groupie).
Oh good grief I’m loving this whole set today….the stencil on burlap - totally brilliant 💜💜💜. I am so anxious to play with my new Masha set - this has totally inspired me. Love those colors you chose today - gorgeous!!!💜
You knocked it out of the park as always Denise. I echo the thoughts everyone else is expressing. Your joy is absolutely contagious. Your enthusiasm is inspiring and your ability to "just go for it" gets me every time! My art journey has changed so much, because of you Denise. You gave me back the joy in creating. That's a lost art for many creative people - pun intended!
Love this journal. Have you ever considered compiling a UA-cam of your bloopers that include your "whoops, i didn’t mean for that to happen" moments 😂. That would be priceless.
After watching you create these past several months, I’ve come to think that an awful lot of folk might would benefit more from subscribing to your channel than taking Prozac and the like. Plus, art is incredibly cathartic. Yup, a dose of DL art, laughter and joy would certainly be my pick. ❤😜
Well this video was just perfect for my can't sleep at 3:a.m. loved that burlap page!! Actually I loved the whole spread! I want to get a big journal now! But shopping at 3:00 a.m. is probably not wise🤪Thanks Denise for another fabulous video!🎉❤
Love these pieces. You could paint a white edge around the flowers and paint window Paynes on the flowers to make it look like you are looking through a window at the flowers. Happy Valentines Day😊
Every time you say Dina’s name it reminds me of Dinah Shore 😂~no worries, I know you know how to say it now based on the comments, but it tickles me! When you said you needed your page on the other side I said “flip your book around” you’ll be set! I usually just stencil on the burlap pages, Dina’s books have been out for awhile, I need to go back and revisit mine and see if I have any blank pages left. A heartfelt thank you Denise, you have pulled me out of my art slump! Cheers 🥂
Ah well… I try… there are a couple more videos already made with the wrong pronunciation since I work ahead… sorry! So glad you enjoyed this!! Thank you! 🥰
Great texture and color, Denise. Can’t have too much gold IMO. I’m thinking the piece of shelf liner I use to open jars may have to be transferred to my art room but I may have more stashed elsewhere. I love the aubergine on the burlap. Thanks for sharing.
Loving this video! Thank you so much! Had to pause it--you just took up the shelf liner Wow! ❤ Now I have to search for my shelf liner but back to your video first 😊🖌️🎨
This was fantastic! Love these pages! Beautiful! I love my journal and was wondering what in the world would I do with burlap! You are so inspiring. I appreciate you very much! I have a picture of a beautiful sunset that I want to use as my color palette for an abstract in my journal but just not sure. I've been reminding myself of your words "Be brave" but forgot what you told us about gesso so thank you for that! Have a great day!
I’ve quit using splatter. Instead I take may posca pen, usually in gold, and hold it loosely at the top and let it bounce across the page. I like the effect better.
Thank you so much Denise. I'm so so happy I found your art. It's funny..I save a lot of stuff. Even before I started art I always wanted to re purpose things. So the minute you said shelf liner I ran to the garage in my box. Three different kinds I saved!! Your work is inspiring and so much fun. Can't wait to try the shelf liners.
Love both sides of this. I have this journal and at first was intimated by the heavy pages and the burlap, but it's a nice challenge to create on for sure. Love how the stencil ended up and would look great as that flap you talked about!
I've worked on that one some more and it has worked out great cut down a little as a flap - that is coming up. those pages are a challenge - I tackled the canvas today too and that was interesting - that one will be coming up too. Thank you! 🥰
I have this journal. On the burlap pages, I take a collage or abstract done on watercolor and glue it to the burlap. Of course, myou have to have another piece to glue on the back at the same time.
I have some fun pages coming up where I painted on one side and glued fun things on the other. I think that is the best for those pages - no way to paint both sides really and it look good. 😊
I've had this journal for about 4 years and have never used it, now I feel brave enough and perhaps will give it a try today! Thanks for your inspiration. Happy heart day❣ Could you have turned it upside down so the white page was on the other side for you to paint on?
Denise I just love your tutorials/videos and have a playlist designated just for you. I saved one of your videos about sheet protectors for your watercolor art and cannot find anywhere. Would you be able to tag me on the video please. Thanks again for inspiring me ❤️
