🎵 Chopin composed his popular Nocturne in E-flat major, Op. 9, No. 2 when he was about twenty. This popular nocturne is in rounded binary form (A, A, B, A, B, A) with coda, C. The A and B sections become increasingly ornamented with each recurrence. The penultimate bar utilizes considerable rhythmic freedom, indicated by the instruction, senza tempo (without tempo). Nocturne in E-flat major opens with a legato melody, mostly played piano, containing graceful upward leaps which becomes increasingly wide as the line unfolds. This melody is heard again three times during the piece. With each repetition, it is varied by ever more elaborate decorative tones and trills. The nocturne also includes a subordinate melody, which is played with rubato.
    Performed by Vadim Chaimovich

Frederic Chopin was also Polish. It's extremely appropriate that she not only chose Chopin, but she chose Noturn in E flat major. This is one of my favorites. His birth house is a museum in Poland if I remember correctly, and I hope to visit it one day with my Dad. I'm 28, but he imparted my love for classical music and piano to me at a young age. Thanks for sharing this genuine moment with us all!

Not even kidding, but this song was just stuck in my head for no reason at all. Hadn’t heard it played in ages. I hummed it to Google and it brought me here. This musician plays it beautifully! Better than my hummed version, at any rate 😂

I like this version very much. For me this piece sounds much more beautiful when played slowly. You can’t enjoy this piece if it is played to fast because you just simply miss all the beauty. To me it is one of the best versions.

Trying to perform this beautiful nocturne, I just can't stop listening this version...by far the best one IMO, so much emotion, power and nuances...Tyfany Poon is also equally top, but much more precise and academic, one can say "perfect", where Vadim's interpretation is much more personal, just like he his part of his piano...love+++++ thank you Vadim!

I like this tempo the best, it really just sucks dry all the delicious juicy notes! My ears are very happy to hear this. I always thought that other versions were rushed a bit too much. Although, I wish Chaimovich wouldn't arpeggiate the chords (which he mostly did in the beginning, but it felt like he intended it to be so. On hindsight I think it's good that he gave us another perspective)

@op83bdur I am simply criticising 'Freistaat1918''s comment due to its naive nature. I am in no way implying that Yundi Li is the best chopin interpretator (though I do admire his playing and would rank him along the top for chopin redentions). Again - 'greatest pianists' simply meant that they were more famous(well-known)than the other ones, it does not imply they are the best for a particular type of music (it may). On a sidenote, my favourite pianists for chopin are Ashkenazy, Li and Ohlsson.

No of course I was not implying that! In fact, the question of taste is within a more general question of aesthetic standards as such: if there are any objective aesthetic values or if art is a subjective thing. This is a very big philosophical problem. If we assume the former case to be true, then it appears very difficult to define thoese objective criteria of true art. However, if we assume the latter case to be true, it follows that anything can be art... which is not true, either. :)
