Glastonbury, England - Glastonbury Abbey, Tor and The Chalice Well

- This is Glastonbury, England and three of the most popular tourist attractions in the town - Glastonbury Abbey, Glastonbury Tor and The Chalice Well. Rich in history and tradition, Glastonbury has the added mystery of the King Arthur Legend. Monks from the Abbey claimed his burial place in the 12th century while others feel the Glastonbury Tor is Avalon, the legendary resting place of the mythical king. This video visits all three sites and discusses a little about the Arthurian legend and the history of these places based on writings and archeological finds.
First we visit the ruins and expansive grounds of the stunning abbey. We then climb to the top of Glastonbury Tor to see the Tower, the only thing left of a former church. Nearby the Tor, we finish the day in the peaceful Chalice Well, with iron-rich water and beautiful gardens,

This place is amazing! So much incredible history there. I would be scared to take my kids in there, they would break something for sure 😆.

Ohh I have not been to Glastonbury yet either. Love the tour of the abbey. What a kitchen - mine is about the size of their table in there!! I Love the beautiful ruins. Wow! And thank you for your great narration, as always.

We’ve not been to Glastonbury in years. I love all of the mythology surrounding King Arthur. You’re fitter than us, I seem to recall taking ages to get up to the Tor and being out of breath for a while when we got there!!
You are too kind, but I appreciate it. I can never decide what I think about King Arthur and I kind of like the idea that there was A King Arthur, at least. We walked up the slope side of the Tor, I'm not sure I would have made it up the steep side with all the steps....and I admit to stopping to take a breath every now and then!
