Have just started the 40 day program. Kb swings, ab wheel, goblet Sq, flat dbell press, deadlift. Pull ups. The gym owner had to ask me was every OK as I was leaving so soon.
Hi Dan. I start whit the Easy Strength because is effective and easy to follow. Can i do a “small conditioning part” after the weights? Conditioning examples: 20 min sprints, bodyweight movement circuits, finishers...
Something that is simple and a good fat burner is marching up and down on a homemade step. I do 5 mins leading with my left foot, then 5 mins leading with my right then I do 6 intervals of 1min 30sec quick marching each followed by 1min 30sec of normal marching. I finish with 3-5mins marching leading with each foot. By marching I mean working the arms in rhythm with the legs.
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach Thank you. My job has me lifting moderately heavy and walking up to 17000 steps a day. This 35 min walking up and down on a step has me sweating quite a bit, mostly because of the interval bursts. It's like brisk walking up a hill. Melts the fat of me. I do it 2-3 times a week.
I hope Im not too late to get feedback. But I just finished Easy Strength and I loved how clear it was. I was wondering specifically about the viability of adding a weighted conditioning element; is it acceptable to add snatch volume cycles after you finish the training (On the minute 3/3- 3/week for 24 min and adding one rep/side a week) or will that defeat the purpose? Thank you
i know Im asking randomly but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Yehuda Damari thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
hi Dan... I was wondering about the same question, because I'm going to do strenght part with easy strenght, and I need to improve my overal fitness level,,, in this case, fitness level or conditioning I have on my mind would be improving my functional systems, so basicly improving my cardiovascular system,,, I wanted to do 20min max circuit training after easy strenght, 6 excercises, 2:1 work rest ratio, 3 sets,,, my equipment, I have kettlebels, trx, dumbells and bodyweight,,, and I would split excercises, for example, first one is upper body, second one lower body, third one full body like crawlings or farmers walk or swings or snatches or running... what is your opinion about that, and maybe some recomendation if you have? thanks Dan
@@DanJohnStrengthCoach thank you for the response. I really enjoy your books (Easy Strength, Mass Made Simple), and your UA-cam videos. I think part of my problem is that I come from a martial arts background where working through fatigue is normal. Personally, I can rest 30 seconds on a heavy lift on a 5x5 program. Mind you, I am not lifting at elite levels in terms of weights, but for me, it is heavy enough without overdoing it. I think I almost need to be prescribed a rest period or to rest more in general.
Amazing I recently read about all of this in Peter Attia's book. This channel is a gold mine.
Thank you so much. I enjoyed Peter’s book but I still like spring chicken better.

Ha! That's great.
Yup, for me also commute to the gym takes longer than the workout itself.
Love the religious studies component - what a balance it makes with S&C... Thanks!
It's always served me well.

That's a good way to do it if you can't go for a walk outside.

Send an email to podcast@danjohnworkouts.com please.
Put out a book of sweet drills like the bear bear. Just fill it with those kinds of drills
I'll look into that

Try it and see if it works for you.
If Easy Strength workouts are 15-20 (maybe 30 minutes), how long are the rest periods?
Like most of my programs. Rest enough. Not too much.
