Jokic's stats get even crazier when you filter for heaves. Hes the first player to shoot over 10 heaves (half court shots or further) in a season since Steph Curry in 2021. If you take away all his heaves, he's shooting almost 52% from three instead of 47%. And even crazier, because he's a big man and can easily tip-in layups that he misses, his Effective True Shooting Percentage is well over 70% (71%, last time I checked a month ago). If you take out all of his half court attempts, and the fact that he tips in most of his missed layups, his real True Shooting percentage is probably between 69-75% right now. Were literally looking at the most efficient scoring season in NBA History right now.
Jokic's game is so fun to watch. But unfortunately he's gonna be robbed of MVP again. Reminiscent of how Jordan lost two mvp season's, despite one being the second best season of all time and the other being the fifth best seasons of all time.

He's still a neutral defender -- slightly positive when it matters -- but yes. Some people talk about him like he's bad which is idiotic. Rodman, Oakley, Laimbeer, Cowens and Unseld were all fantastic rim protectors even if they weren't shot blockers. Jokic is just a bad rim protector, period. We have the results. Jokic's defensive flaws -- rim protection, bad in drop, bad in space -- are very very real. But he does enough other good stuff -- intelligence, activity, hands, rebounding -- to claw back all of the value he loses (and then some)

As a Center it get easier when no one can really reach the ball at this height so it give him an extra time to look wihtout worrying about a steal. And cuz a center as to guard him there is no rim protector for the opponent team. Having a playmaker as a center is the ultimate cheat code
Thing is there is a real argument to be made that hes a top 5 player of all time. Some of his games can only be compared with the best of the 1960s. Most people have never seen such a good player in there lifetimes.

As for Shaq and most of the power forwards of the 90s, they relied entirely on size, as soon as Shaq was not able to dunk as well due to his age he was averaging 9 point 0 assist a game. Shaq was not a skilled player his team just made the most of his size. Shaq should not be anywhere close to the top 100, most current players are more skilled than he was in his prime. Almost all current players have more assists and better 3pt shooting % than Shaq.

In fact I dare say that BB from the 90s would look utterly different had he played in that era, every team would have had to adjust there play style to not get destroyed.
