I agree, the Bene Geserit in the art all look the same and just... Subtly off somehow. It might just be the AI art but it fit's how I always saw them: Spooky, almost inhuman but trying very hard to put you at ease.
I remember watching this as a kid in the 90s, it really revolutionized the genre and paved the way for Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and others. Truly one of the animes ever made.

It's strange that no one ever tought to adapt it in an anime . Perhaps they were worried for the failure of the 1984 movie, but a TV serial, with the right animation surely would've worked. And some of the characters are astounding, expecially the Freemen, Duke Hatkonnen & the Bene Gesserit!
I personally believe that it is not possible to make a movie that would fully deliver the same experience as the book. I think something like anime could do that, because a scene in which a character stands still and thinks for a couple of minutes is considered to be ok. Anime visuals would also help to explain some concepts of the Dune world :)
Beautiful but all of this is just Futuristic Anime people in a desert, though Fremen are arguably identified, none have the Blue on Blue Eyes of Ibad. This can be called DUNE-esque Anime ideas instead of Dune as 90s Anime.

I think Anime is probably the only way to go if you want to actually stay true to the source material and make it look seamless. THIS rendition though is even further off the scope than the movies have been. People shouldn't make movie adaptations with no understanding of the source material. Dune would be an amazing anime! But who the f is that many people in house Artreides??? There just 3 members in the beginning (actually 2 bc Jessica is not married to the Duke, but as his official concubine I think she counts): Paul, Duke Leto and Jessica. And only one more later, Alia, who was born after her father’s death! Why there’s 5 people in there?? Who are they?? Lol! I really like the Benne Gesserit look! That was great! Sandworm, I prefer the style of the ones in the new movie! Those here are too small and don’t really show it’s size and power! Oh and siecht are all wrong! They are inside the caves, not open to the dessert! That makes no sense! Lol

Perhaps modern IP is expensive for Japanese anime production house? Since royalties, license and such must be paid by producer.
There's the Valley of the Wind anime made by Miyazaki though, there are differences to Dune, but the similarities are astounding.
