I follow both Bart and Abs for different reasons, so I’m happy and surprised to see them both together, discussing critical and interesting topics. Brilliant!
@DrAbs I emailed Bart after seeing you for the first time on the 24 hour carnivore stream. I suggested to him that he does an interview with you as I believed it would make great content. This interview was brilliant. You did not disappoint. I think along with Dr Chaffee and the Team Carnivore UK you are my favourite carnivore influencers and this kind of content has changed my life. Lastly, please keep us updated about when the new gum treatment you spoke about on the 24 hour live will be available to us. I desperately want to have that done. Thank you Abs and Bart for this.👍🦆🐃🐮
What a superb podcast! You and Dr Kay make so much sense. Thank you for your insight. I am one of those people Dr Kay mentioned who likes to keep checking various levels! It is easy to become neurotic and stressed, although my stress, as measured by OURA, remains low to normal. Re Peter A - I have no respect for (what seems to me to be) his total lack of humility, arrogant posturing, reductionist attitude - also observed by Dr Kay - and the general dismissal of hard-won evidence on a variety of health/longevity issues. I stopped listening to him a while back due to feeing depressed after doing so. His book, borrowed from the library, was more of the same. In a recent podcast he gave the four pillars of health and and a few supplements and DRUGS he takes to support those, and said that anything else was the same as deciding on whether to have steak or lobster for dinner on the Titanic. How negative is that? Different supplements for different people, no?Also, I firmly believe that there is a powerful psychological element to health and well-being. What you truly embrace as beliefs can influence your physiology. He destroys this.
Thank you for watching and such a thoughtful comment. I appreciate having viewers like you 🙏 Agree that not everything Peter A says is agreeable or suitable
Thanks for this video. Have a similar condition to Barts brother (if not the same, but watched) found at age 53, 59 now, so far so good. Turbulent flow, that's how it was found, the Doctor could hear it.
When are the best times to check blood pressure? How often during the day, and are there protocols that should be followed, like things to do or to avoid before taking the BP? Thanks in advance.
Fantastic clip and hearing views on subjects that very few know about or have enough knowledge to discuss. What are your views on Q10 as a supplement, many varying views out there, interested in yours. 🥰🥰🥰
"Hypoxia for health", Bart Kay or Dr. Abs, I hope either of you looks into the *Buteyko* breathing method. Put crudely, it's using a series of breath-holds (holding the breath after completely exhaling) to make certain physiologic changes. I've used it to interrupt burgeoning asthmatic attacks, as well as stopping a drippy nose during a cold or a hay fever episode. I still use it for everyday breathing, but haven't needed to use it for asthma nor allergies since going carnivore. But I'd still be very interested to hear your comments from a physiological standpoint. 🤞🏻
By practicing Buteyko exercises, I have trained myself to breathe exclusively through my nose. It took years, but now I can keep my mouth closed most of the time. Today, while cycling uphill, I managed to breathe through my nose for the majority of the climb-something many professional cyclists find challenging. This method significantly reduces energy expenditure and is highly recommended.
This was so good! You got me Dr. Abs lol, I mentioned in a comment that you should do a collab with my fav Bart Kay and you told me to wait and see 🙌🏼. You two should do a weekly video together! Love you both and thank you for all you do ♥️🙏🏼.
Troponin is the more specific indicator for heart attacks. Not everyone on the internet knows what they are talking about and some speak with false authority.
From what I've read about D-Ribose, it replenishes the Purine Pool, which gets depleted during ischemia - AMP builds up in the cell - and the cell removes that - and now the ETC has no ADP to use to regenerate ATP.... and the generation of D-Ribose from substrate (glucose) is a VERY slow process naturally... I got this from Lee Know's book about mitochondria.
Is not Alcohol metabolized to an aldehyde as one of the steps in its metabolism?? I love Bart Kay, but this is a serious question that deserves an answer.
42:00 my female cousin has been on a low cholesterol (low fat, no eggs etc) diet since she turned 8years old. Her mother died when she was 4 years old after a series of heart attacks took her mother at age 39. Average weight no problems prior but her cholesterol level was 19. She loved seafood. Fast forward 4 years and her mother had a heart attack at age 56 and her cholesterol was 21. The family was then tested and all the females had levels above 12 including the 8 year old girl. Normal weight. Males in the family had normal cholesterol levels. My cousin has been eating like a sick person with high cholesterol for 34 years now. The rest of the females have had no further heart attacks including grandma who still lives today. Can you explain or do you know of this genetic disorder they have? Do you think the family may have been misled by earlier medical conclusions that have put a then 8 year old on a low fat diet essentially. She has had a terrible time with crippling anxiety over the years. I’m thinking low low fat impacting the developing brain could be part of the reason
Great conversation. I take it all back about Bart Kay. He clearly knows his subject inside out, despite his sometimes “wacky” UA-cam persona…but that’s how UA-cam functions, I suppose…unfortunately!
@@Dr_Abs I wish he wouldn’t. It’s a bit immature and demeans his obvious knowledge and intellect. But clearly that “alter-ego” persona gets attention…so maybe he’s happy carrying-on like that!
Obviously multiple, unessesay scans are not a good idea but i think everyone over the age of 50 should know their CAC score. You find out if there is a problem and are compelled to make the necessary changes and thus less likely to sleep walk into a heart attack.
Yes, but isnt D-ribose even more glycative than Fructose? And wouldnt that just futher the arterial build up because of on going inflammation due to the disregulation of the randal cycle?
Dr abs, Little help if you get this msg please. Pathology Investigations Serum lipid levels Serum HDL cholesterol level 1.8 mmol/L [1.0 - 3.0] Serum cholesterol level 8.2 mmol/L [1.5 - 5.51; Above high reference limit Serum triglyceride levels 3.18 mmol/L [0.5 - 2.01; Above high reference limit Serum cholesterol/HDL ratio 4.6 ratio Serum non high density lipoprotein cholesterol level 6.4 mmol/L Serum LDL cholesterol level 4.9 mmol/L Just got these results from my doctor and he wants me and a low fat diet. I don’t really understand any of this cholesterol stuff and whether or not I need to lower or higher what’s on this list. Any help would be great please. I’ve been carnivore then animal based for a while as I have ibs but now added a few carbs in. Dont trust my gp at all anymore as I know there only interested in getting my on tablets or a stupid diet. Thanks Gareth
No not prof Fart Pay again, an avid critic of anyone consuming ANY carbs, especially Dr Paul Saladino! However, his partner Pim Jansen, suffers debilitating migraines if she does not consume some carbs which she has stated in some interviews. Go figure!
@@Revox100 Biochemical individuality is my specialty! it explains why many fail on the strict carnivore including his partner who needs "some" carbs. I would enjoy to debate him beyond Randle Cycle!
Please do this again, and quickly. This is an ALL-STAR duo. Hour went by WAY too fast
Next one is already planned 😁
😮😮 let’s goo!!!

This one was so good I listened to it twice.
Fabulous discussion! Thank-you.

Just WOW. Two of my favourite humans. Thanks for your content. 🙏
What a superb video, so informative. Love Bart Kay and have just subscribed to your channel.
All power to informed and informative interviews

Outstanding exchange. People need to pay attention to arguments when data are hypothesis-generating or when it denies or supports one.

anybody knows where i can find that study mentiond in @49:00 about the 220 ng/dl being the nadir point?
How is creatinine related to a heart event? I always thought troponin levels were the indication.
