Round Pond Recreation Area - West Point Campground

We loved our stay at West Point's military campground: Round Pond Recreation Area. It is located about a 10-minute drive from the post and is a great location to relax, as well as visit the local area. The campground is open seasonally, April through November, for camping in RV's, tents, and rental cabins.

I appreciate the cabin info. I vacation to military cabins or condos (Key West in particular) as I don’t have an RV.

Have you ever seen the website Poppin' Smoke? Julie writes about military campgrounds for them, but there is also a lot of info about other military lodging and military travel in general.

Thank you for an excellent review. I prefer the quite and peaceful campgrounds. Unfortunately living in San Diego I probably won’t get there anytime soon.
My brother is a West Point graduate. I’d love to get back there to tour. I wasn’t able to attend his graduation (I am an USAFA graduate but was on actual duty and couldn’t get off. My youngest is an Annapolis graduate 😢
