The Xbox 360 Store and the Xbox 360 Marketplace will be retired on July 29, 2024.
The Xbox lve arcade or Xbox 360 store is soon to close forever leaving many games unavailable ro purchasw , so here is everything you need to know aboout the store closure
stuck on what to play or what to buy? looking for some retro nostalgia? Join us as we discuss the most overlooked and underatted Xbox 360 games the console has to offer.
You'll still be able to play multiplayer as usual on previously downloaded games and games owned on disc. Online services per game will vary based on publisher support for legacy titles.
You can continue to play discs or redownload previously purchased games on your Xbox 360 even after the store closes in July 2024. To download your previously purchased Xbox 360 games, Original Xbox games, and add-ons.

After buying the One S and later the Series X im still playing mostly 360 games....even those that are not backwards compatible.

Seen so many stores close now. I do like the convenience of getting a digital version of a game but at least with a physical copy you know you have got it for good. At least previously purchased games will still be available.

Gonna miss the Xbox 360 marketplace, simpler times back then. Maybe better times too. So many great games still trapped on Xbox 360 physical and digitally. Big L for game preservation.
Glad I was able to get a copy of Hour of Victory. It's become harder to find that game and it was never sold digital or released on any other console/PC in the US.

@thebeardybeerbroshow, Maybe it's not in Europe, but in the US? Haven't seen it around as much. Used to find it in Gamestop bargain bins, but they don't even sell Hour of Victory now.
Game was a flop, so probably not as many copies out there as well a Bungie Halo game or CoD.
I mean, you can still find both the digital and physical rips of specs ops for ps3/xb360/pc online, thanks to the brave people sailing the seven seas

Does this mean the store on the 360 console itself only or is this the entire store including backwards compatible games? Been wondering if Cod games and DLC would still be purchasable after this closure? DLC lobbies are already pretty rare on Bo1 nowadays, imagine when no one can buy the maps packs anymore..

I sadly didn't get to enjoy this Era of gaming until much later at the launch of the ps4 and Xbox one so I'm gonna have to hurry up and buy as many games and dlc as I can and I hope everyone gets their hands on the gems that you can only get digitally

Both games are backwards compatible and on the rare replay disc so u cud get a newer Xbox n still play them

Here’s a tip, if you happen to have asura’s wrath on Xbox 360, the dlc for it which is important to the story is only available on 360 cause I check the store on Xbox one and it’s not there so you’d wanna snag it on the 360 store while you can

I’m trying to buy the add ons for left for dead 2 the sacrifice and the passing but when I go to the Xbox marketplace it doesn’t let me add cards it just keeps circling 😭

@@thebeardybeerbroshow Well, the internet connection on my 360 S console has been extremely inconsistent because sometimes it'll work fine, and other times it just flat out won't even though it's supposed to be designed to connect wirelessly. Not to mention that it's slow AF. Whenever I do something like exit the search menu, the whole console just crashes. Also, most of the time whenever I try to buy something, it'll get me a message saying that the services are unavailable or something. Even when I try wired connection or a WiFi adapter, all of these issues still persist, so yeah, I think there's something wrong with my console.

Basically this means that whenever u buy a 2nd hand 360 game and see in the boxart "Includes 8 cars for your garage , needs internet connection" means you wont be able to download that content from the special edition you bought.
So basically ure now playing the standard versions of a lot of games that needed to download it from the cloud

Xbox live is over which means any game you play on 360 will unlock achievements but since you can't get online with Live, they won't upload to your overall gamerscore anymore

My personal 2cent about this: towards the closure date will be a ..bloodbath ! Servers maybe will be overload or even down :(( Also buying now tons of games/extra files will possibly "inflate" to death people's download history in the 360 dashboard.. Read of one guy that could not scroll into it to redownload his game #@!@#
