I had a 1978 Le Mans but it wasn’t finished like this. The high gloss exhaust, polished valve covers, carbs, fork stanchions, rear hub and alternator cover really set this one apart. This is a superb rendition of Italy’s finest flash bike. Congrats to the owner.
@@leeengelsman1855 Me too. All the polished pieces do set it apart though. I only hand polish the valve covers and alternator cover. The rear shock springs came polished. The fork stanchions came painted black and will remain so. Not going to mess with the carbs. Was thinking about black chrome or similar on the headers.
Thank you for sharing that with us. Seeing it in all its glory makes me feel as if I am in the presence of a beautifully thoughtful art work, and makes me feel also, that my bikes are very dirty.
I think this has 850 mk2 forks. The front brake calipers were in front of the stanchions on my le mans 850 series 2. I prefer the factory finish to the highly polished look, á chacun son goût.
Did you rebuild it or did you make it out of new parts it looks better than new best one I've seen I have a lario but doesn't look that good well done 👍
You mean cylinder-heads, not barrels (at 1.50) and the front brake master cylinder is from the "mk5". and I`d recomend the "dominoe" switchgear too. So much easier to cancel the indicators. This bike is immaculate, probably the best I`ve seen, but the tacho is not Lm, and dont trust that rear carrier, there`s not much I dont know about these fabulous machines. Good on ya.
Paul J you have a lemans? Just bought a project 1978 series 2 need reference to bring it back on the road. Tell me more about better switch gear and brake upgrades?
@@artpongs I had several, The mkll is essentially the same as the "Mark ones", the forks were the main change (slightly widerT3 etc yokes and 7mm disc spacers) the later mk5 Lm, Domino switch gear is very good, all the earlier stuff is junk. There`s nothing you need to upgrade on the brakes, just run them with the front calipers behind the fork legs. Good luck & if there`s anything else you need, let me know.
The instruments look the same as the ones on my 1978 LM with black taillight and fork stanchions. The chrome (?) headlight rim is the only feature I see which is not original.
Hi tstanb So far as I'm aware, all parts are Le Mans Mk1, including the clocks & top/bottom yokes, but I would have thought the V50 and the Le Mans Mk1 used the very same clocks?? Pity I no longer have it, or I could have taken a few measurements for you. Can't say for sure how much was cut from the bottom of the flyscreen, either. It seemed quite a bit shorter than the original, so I'd guess around 30 - 50mm. Good luck! ps. I have more Le Mans video: I'll post it up one day!

I prefer original rough cast look on the valve covers, and silver paint on the fork sliders.

Excellent work. Possibly the prettiest LeMans I have seen.
Not a fan of the polished bits. Detracts from the overall quality build. I prefer the vapor blasting of aluminum parts.
Perfect work you have done, congrats 👏 one of the best i have seen!
Hermosa moto,muy buena terminacion ,felicitaciones
incredibly clean
Top job! Congratulation! I love Le Mans 1 it's a wounderful bike and I think they get rare now. Whish you many good rides with it!

Beautiful machine, but why o why a luggage rack!!??

Mk2 switch gear, aftermarket fibreglass side panels, mk2 fuel taps, braided brake lines, number plate holder missing, damper rod missing
Yes, those are the correct tach and speedo for this Le Mans.
Might seem an odd request could you do the same but with the Guzzi on a bike lift, I got a lot of information for my rebuild but need more.
@paulshort1174 Sorry, but I sold this Le Mans some time ago, so I can't be of any help.
Troppo nuova e lucida…la guzzi deve essere vissuta
Like luggage rack makes it look bit longer more balance to the monster heads L
SHINY
is this for sale ? please tell me it is!!!
Would you rideit? Too shiny methinks
What is the rear rack brand?
The rack was made in the UK, by Renntec.
Not bad...
Black crome?
No, not chrome. It's a black ceramic coating on the exhausts.
