I heard that TOG got a lot different after the Prologue was over. But I wasn't expecting anything like this. Will be interesting to see where things go from here.

@@aya5074I feel like everything up to the hell train was incredible, and then after that slowed down a lot. It’s still great but these last couple of arcs have felt so dragged out. It used to be straight hands on sight and now it’s a lot of running around and avoiding fights with certain people. Now that this 10 families flashback has started tho I’m hoping it’ll pick up the pace again

Yeah, that feels like a weird oversight. Like they could have just adjusted the amount of time on the clock so it wasn’t so jarring. Like it’s one thing for an anime to expand 20 seconds to a couple minutes. It’s another thing for it to expand 20 seconds to almost 10 whole minutes

People are gonna complain about the art style change but what's cool about this show is that the season 1 art style was very close to what season 1 of what the web toon looked like. It was originally much more gritty and simple looking. The art style of season 2 is close to what the web toon looks like in season 2 onwards. The art considerably improved after season 1 and only got better, it became cleaner and more detailed. So while I might miss the first art style, it's a change that actually makes sense plus the animation is clearly smoother so far with just this episode alone, so that's a nice bonus in my opinion.
The start reminds me of how ONE PIECE began. Older art style that got progressively better. I liked that a lot. Although I feel like it would’ve been a lot more popular with new fans if it had started out with more modern animation.
also some of the characters wouldnt fit in the season 1 art style i think. just think of mazino in season 1 style lol

i like the art style, im not worried bout the art style but the animation is what im worried about and it looks good.
please go reread first season and start of s2 and notice how there's almost no changes in the artstyle, yet this just looks like a fanmade s2 artstyle and animation wise

There are some slow parts but it's really good highly recommend you catch up its not finished yet we on season 3 rn about to be hype 2 heads of the family's are about battle.

No he's not, at least it's not confirmed yet, he used something that's going to judge the head of the lo po bia family and it stated that it would resurrect gustang as his executioner if he didn't feel guilty/sorry for what he did. Or something along those lines. The fight between them isn't over yet, you know sui likes to drag things out

So if I understand this right
Wave controller - regulars who have insane amounts of shinsu. Able to launch streams of shinsu (how strong and big it is of course depends on how much the regular has). Can manipulate shinsu in various of other ways too, whether physical or in other means. Arguably the most versatile type of regular as they can play a upclose offensive role, long range role, or play support.
Fishermen - regulars who specialize in swordsmanship. they can use shinsu to increase their physical attributes (nowhere on the scale a wave controller could)
Scouts - brawlers who gather Intel on the field (for some reason Hatz is designated as a Scout even though he primarily uses a sword)
Spear bearers - regulars who specialize in obviously pole arms, can channel shinsu though their spear
Light bearers - light bearers are the position for the most savy and strategic regulars. Light bearers are the tacticians of the battle. They are housed in a shinsu based cubed referred to as a "lighthouse" able to search for information that is known in the tower. Able to also to map out the field and communicate with their teammates.
*Note
All regulars in the tower can use Shinsu to some extent, but these positions are only to give the best suited role for the said regular.
No. The positions are most dependant on what tools a regular uses. Also, people can take on a secondary role. "Long-hair" here, combines a primary wave controller position with a secondary fisherman position.
Wave controller
- no tool
- buff team and/or debuff enemy
Fisherman
- primary tool: fishing reel
- melee to mid range fighting
(swords are rarely used in the tower)
Scout
- primary tool: observer (basically surveillance drones)
- gather info and survive to be able to relay that info. Survivability is probably the most defining feature. It does not matter how one survives. Could be by strength or by cunning.
Spear bearer
- primary tool: long range weapon (spear, bow, rifle...)
- long range fighters
Lightbearer
- primary tool: lighthouse (cubic floating computers)
- strategic and tactic planning, giving orders

No the shinsu effects are flashy nonsense to hide the fact they can't draw fight scenes or the different powers very well so they make it flashy and sensational to ooh and ahh ignorant sheep who can't see beyond ooh shiny.

Im pretty sure the art style in the 1st season was to reflects SIUs art style, and how he progressively got better and now s2 art style is reflective of SIUs drawing ability.
Yeah that's something that I thought was really cool that they're doing. Only web toon readers that remember the og art style will notice it seems.

@@Mars23223S1 wasn't better, the artstyle was different so it made it more unique, but animation wise it wasn't better. Webtoon also changed artstyles, and this artstyle it's probably easier to do fights, this Season will have a lot more fights than S1, so S1 artstyle might not have done the fights justice.
Animation is different from artstyle
Animation is the fluidity of the scenes, how good the movement, the fights look.
Artstyle is how the world and characters look like.
Personally, S2 animation looks better so far, S1 artstyle was different more unique

Animation was great. One thing I wanna say though is that I love what they're doing with the soundtrack, and I don't think a lot of people mentioned it. You can hear a melody from "Irregular God" play in different parts of the episode and I think it really captures the beauty and sorrow in the story

I have to say the direction of the beams at 2:49 really threw me off. The way it's directed it makes it seem like the small one is Viole's, but no. When it cuts away from Viole even though it would make sense to cut to his blast as he had just fired it, it cuts to the other one, when Viole's then comes at it from off-screen. Also this may be just me but why do I feel like Viole's should be coming in from the left instead of the right?
