Geno wants to stay. Why risk changing teams? He will get a creative contract. Question for me is Tyler. What does he want? If the Hawks get better and better this season, will he be willing to take a massive pay cut to stay and play for an actual contender? Will he retire? Play for another team chasing a ring? Hawk for life? Wonder what he wants?
Well timed video cause I saw some people thinking we couldn't realistically extend Ernest Jones due to cap limitations and he would be just a 10 game rental. I have my criticisms of John Schneider, but he's not that incompetent or stupid to trade a 4th round pick for a 10 game rental. I have no doubt that we'll extend Ernest Jones and that was part of the calculation in trading for him.
Seattle has 9 million cap space this year if they don’t spend it it will roll over till next year! Cap rises every year & Seattle presently has lots of cap space in 2026! Our 1st round picks have a 5th year option! When evaluating cap space you have to evaluate 2 years not 1 because the cap rises every year! Tyler Lockett has 13 Million in dead cap releasing or trading him saves 17 million! Dre Mont Jones will most likely get extended next year because they added void years like they did with DK signaling both DK & Dremont are getting extended!
Which of the following players would you Extend, Trade, or let walk in free agency? Abe Lucas, Riq Woolen, and K9. I'm really interested to see what the team does with them considering the other extensions we're gonna give out.
Id rather pay K9 12M/yr than give Riq 24M/yr too incomplete of a player to pay big money. Someone will probably pay him big tho because his stats are elite
Brendo how do you build around long term with a qb that's 35 years old. Unless he's tom brady he's done in 3-4 years. Geno smith has zero chance living up to contract if he received extension.
Isn't Geno leading the league in yards with a below average o-line right now? Why would we let a three time pro bowler walk to gamble on a draft pick that most likely will never pan out?
Were going to have to worry about the offensive line next year. Either draft of pay someone. Connor Williams and Tomlinson are gone. Maybe Haynes works out, but probably not need two new guards.
You need to learn how the system works before video!! Teams that have expiring contracts open cap space for other teams. Go look at overcap 2025 post June 1. Plenty of cap savings with some dead money. Why am I watching this now? Who the F cares!!! Too much time on your hands. Do a video on Buffalo vs Hawks! Dumb
1. U can't cut Dre mont due to how the salary is Structured 2. Can't cut nwosu cause he just signed the extension and u would owe more 3. Bobby isn't coming back get over it 4. Not Happening with geno
So we are going to start to cry about the cap already and how we don’t have any money do you know it’s nothing to ever worry about how must we still go on
I swear the Niners are paying a portion of their players salaries under the table.
@joepesci8930 it's so frustrating how they're able to afford all their key players, definitely feels like they're doing something shady
Shitty team, Shitty fanbase equals Shitty business practices.
back loading their contracts
gonna have to over pay a few guys for a couple years or take some dead $ like we did with jamal and quandre
Not really relevant once Purdy actually gets paid, that's the only reason why they seem to have space.
@@jaibruh they gonna turn on purdy just like they did garappolo n kaep
Daaaaaaamn, what the hell have the Saints been spending their money on?
Post June 1 2025 cap. Cut Nwosu saves $15mm. Cut DreMont saves $16mm. Lockett is gone or restructure.
not sure why we ever gave Noah Fant that extension, good player but my Hawks never used TEs
They have a lot more consistently and in more engaging ways under the new offense this season
That being said I do think you could get similar production out of brady russell
@@haveagreatday6952plus we got barner who's been a surprising stud

why wouldnt we resign k9 he's amazing!
Injury concerns probably but I agree we should extend him!
Extend the man
I get he’s an RB but man I’d be sick watching that man leave. He’s just so talented

@darkrider962 same for Big Cat last year, we definitely had to make that 2nd round pick worth trading for him. Glad we did at the end of the day
we get a comp pick even if he leaves, its a win win win situation.
Isn't the salary cap going to go up by probably $10 million also? Or has the NFL already said what it will be?
Great content, Brendon! I really agree with your take about those contracts.
I mean the niners were able to dance around the cap curling for years. Just push money out strategically and we can resign everyone most likely
We definitely need you to make a video about the upcoming extensions with predictions. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
I'm shaking angry that he spelled out $301,705 rather then keeping with consistency and enumerating it as -$0.3M

What's with the many "Nice" comments lol
Bots probably. They're absolutely everywhere on UA-cam regardless of what the video subject is.

Why would Tyler Lockett retire when he can receive the full $30mil? Would he pass on guaranteed money to help out the team?
probably he doesn't really need the money I bet he'd rather help the team
Great video Brendon. The cap doesn’t mean much as you’ve shown.
plus what ever rolls over from this year
Things change after the season ends!
Does this mean we can resign all the people we need to or no?
From what i garnered it is looking like we will be able to resign who we need too while extending other key players.

Geno is a special case, can’t compare him to other qbs, he has like no mileage for a 35 year old
Big chance he’d live up to the contract. Greater than not, actually.

Saints have been -75+ M cap space the last 3 years. Going for 4 it seems.
Cut nowsu, fant, jones, and restructure lockett.
I think we’re hoping Lockett retires lol he can play 3 more years. Easily. I hope we keep him.
Nice video.
Why r the Hawks always screwed😢😮???

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s safe to say we are going to look completely different next season. I don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing 🤔
Pretty sure Lockett, Geno, Dremont and Fant will be gone next season.
Genos contract goes through 2025
With how lockett has played this year it’d be shocking to see him hang up the cleats, but he’d have to restructure.

I care
Trade Geno Smith and Dre mont Jones, and injury prone Uchenna Nowsu, get Bobby Wagner back relieves the most Cap space
this is probably the dumbest comment i’ve ever read in my entire life

2. Can't cut nwosu cause he just signed the extension and u would owe more
