      Have to agree with ChrisThe1 - The 5k subs does not reflect the quality of Jack's content. I mean, just focus on on the personal reflection he is sharing around the 7 minute point in the vid!? Who hasn't found themselves out on another photography walk and feeling a growing sense of anxiety due to the sense we are not able to 'see' the images that must be, somehow, in front of us. Jack, carry on!

      Just came here to echo all of this. Thoughtful videos, not just a drone of the same content 99% of camera “reviewers” spew out: also love the intersect with your life, parenting, work… real life. Which we are all doing so it relates so well. Keep it up! Not long before this channel explodes to the level it deserves.

    I love the 85mm on FF or the 56mm on crop sensors. In a country like India where street photography alienates people, it helps to maintain the distance and still tell a story. I don't own a camera myself. I borrow my friend's Z6 for most of my street photography walks and I take only the 85mm 1.8 with me most of the time.

    I just missed the start of the premiere of this one, but came back afterward to watch it in full.
    I found your narrative in this video to be excellent. I'm in the planning stages of my first trip to Japan next year, and you left a few tidbits in this video I found useful - Shinjuku is now on my radar.
    I know based on your style that these videos must take a lot of effort to produce, despite only being about 10 minutes long. I hope you continue to refine your craft and make gradual improvements. You've got a lot of potential with your different style, and you'll eventually find your ikigai within the style.

I'll probably pick up the 24-120 when I pick up the Z6iii next year. As an aside, when I finished graduate school, I was offered a stipend to teach in Osaka. @@BokehTherapy hey you remembered! thanks for that! really appreciate it! I used the 50mm 1.2 exclusively for 3 months, april may and june, and loved every photo that came out of it, then for fathers day i got a canon m6mk2 and some smaller discontinued efm lens 32 1.4 and wow, that set up is so much lighter! with the grey and black colour theme, it looked semi retro. I even found some filmic picture styles as i only shoot jpeg these days (past 10 years) so it scratches that itch of classic film look. with that said, i've picked back up my film camera these days and noticed i had a roll of half used portra 400, i shot the rest of the photos and got them developed and scanned and it was photos of my sons from about 8 years ago when they were babies. I'm so tempted to sell off my r6mk2 and my 1.2 lens now. but wife says no, heh. I also wish canon would make a FF retro camera like the ZF, that might be an interesting combo for me with some 1.8 lens. keep up the great work! binge watching a few of your videos right now, onto the fuji one!

Although I have not shot much with the 85mm focal length, I have recently started to use the 105 2.8 macro for more street photography and have really enjoyed it. As said by others, very inspiring channel. I hardly dare ask, but there's one question that's been nagging at me. Any tips on how these photo were processed? These greenish Tokyo shots seen across the latest videos are haunting. I don't want to copy or steal this look but I can restrain myself from trying every time to figure out how it's done. Some photographer are also selling presets, it's a bit cliché but maybe it's an option

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  Місяць тому +1

      Other than getting the exposure to taste a lot of it is adding some colors to the shadows? A bit green and teal in the shadows and boosting the warmth of the global WB. Might consider presets at some point, but I think it’s Tokyo that’s doing the heavy lifting for those shots haha. Thanks so much for watching!

    Hi Jack, love your channel, story telling and videos. Massive plus is its exciting to see someone from Brisbane making great content. I get a little bored the home town so awesome to see what other people shoot. I am looking to move up from an fuji XT3 system to a Nikon z6iii w/24-120mm lens, first big test will be a trip to Japan in Oct/Nov this year. I was looking at stretching to one lens , mainly for night photography, lane ways and capturing all the amazing night lights. What lens would you recommend if you could only have one 1.4 or 1.8 lens for shooting at night? (It would probably used in other low light situations like darker temples etc where allowed when I need extra light gathering up from the f4. ) cheers!

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  21 день тому +1

      Hello! Great to meet a fellow Australian photographer, in Brisbane no less? My favourite Nikon S Prime is the 50mm f1.8 S. It is (as far as I can tell) optically perfect, and so sharp while being compact. It’s right in the middle of your 24-120mm range, so shouldn’t be hard to adjust between those two lenses. 35mm f1.4 and f1.8 are great too, so depends on what you prefer. IQ wise I haven’t found a lens that beats the 50mm. (Maybe the Plena!?)

    Do you ever miss the extra resolution of the A7CR when traveling? In one of your first videos you mentioned an advantage of the R was the ability to use cropping to get more "reach" out of a single prime lens. With the Zf being only 24 seems like it would be more limited if you wanted to maintain lets say 4K images after cropping?

    • @BokehTherapy
      @BokehTherapy  Місяць тому +1

      Surprisingly I didn’t miss the extra resolution on this trip with 24 megapixels? 4K doesn’t need much megapixels (only about 8), and an APSc crop still gives me 10 megapixels. I would still love some extra resolution but I do so much night time shooting low light makes more sense

      @vieter729 Місяць тому

      @@BokehTherapy thanks for the reply! I'm in the process of trying to decide between an A7CII and the A7CR and was having a hard time deciding if I would regret not having the full 61mp since an 85mm is probably as tele as I'll probably ever want on a camera that size so I figured the extra cropping might be useful in that sense.
