I really don't understand these guys, they are acting as if they didn't see the improvement of the team from the beginning to the end of the season. They only had one loss in their final fifteen games. They did this with over ten top players injured. At the beginning of the season Jackson missed some open goals that had he made would have put Chelsea in the top four. By the end of the season he was making those goals , top scorer not including penalties for Chelsea.

I respect dizzy opinion but I think he's way off. I think he would be a great signing for Arsenal he plays a few different positions across the back four & I also think he is a needle mover for me he improves the first team & definitely improves the squad. If Arsenal want to challenge seriously on all fronts, they need players like this to improve the depth

I agree. Ultimately, what tripped us up last year was a lack of trusted depth at critical, busy moments of the season: we stumbled at the end of the busy Christmas period, where everyone looked really physically and mentally jaded; and we stumbled again against Villa in the middle of that crazy April where we had a game every 3 or 4 days. Other than that we were flawless in the run-in. I take Dizzy's point about this maybe not being a huge ceiling-raiser (I mean he'd raise the quality on that left side, sure, but probably not to 'this is the next big evolution of our game' levels), but I really think that raising the floor of the squad across all areas is going to be every bit as important as adding that little bit of magic this summer.
Be under no illusions - this season is going to be a real slog! The players are getting no time off because of all the summer tournaments, they're going to get reduced preseasons and we're going to have to cope with the expanded CL format - the teams with the strongest depth are going to have even more of an advantage than usual.
