This is superb!! While AC is the original Hollie, this guy Peter is awesome as well. Alan retired because his wife was ill and he wanted to take care of her, which is quite honorable. Family first! When a band has been going on for 60+ years, you must expect change. Life is about change!! It’s not the same, but it’s still awesome!! Love to all the Hollies!! Tony and Bob are awesome!! Continue playing great music guys!! Hope to see y’all one day!! ❤
I was at this concert!!! Shocking! I saw Alan Clark in 1987 and the Hollies many times after!!! I got married to the air that I breath and had my dads funeral to he ain’t heavy’ shocking that they post this on you tube!!!!
Mad respect in Nov 2023. While the Beatles were HUGE, my ears lent the way to what was coming out of Manchester.....I have followed them from a child , learnt their arrangement style musically and vocally. Bobby Elliot is Mr Time with such a feel for the kit. I call him 'Supple Hands"....a true artist on the kit. Tony Hicks.....Pure legend. Personally post Graham Nash, I loved the Bobby Elliot, Bernie Calvert, Terry Sylvester, Tony Hicks, Allan Clarke years taking nothing away from anyone else who has had the privildge to be in The Hollies. I can well imagine what that would take. They have left a blueprint on what music with strong musicianship, beautiful wrap around harmonies with taste can sound like. A winning combination. As a Producer, Musician, I strive for that same blueprint depending on the project of course. Full respect from New Zealand and thank you so much x I am glad I got to see you in 2017 here in NZ. I was speechless and in awe. My musical heroes playing right in front of me.
I'm 77 today and I recall the sixties when I used to sing these songs. There were those who actually cried. There was this guy, forgot his name, who actually carried his brother around the world with a copy of this record. He used to play it whichever disco he visited.

Great music. This is real music. We grew up with the best bands and single artists. Not like today, I’m so glad we never had any social media. We did it right.
A great deal better than some of the bands going round on these silver 60’s shows with one or even no original members. Hicks and Elliott still really fine musicians.
@@dawnjenniferclark4464 Nothing wrong with this singer he has amazing pitch, a great sounding voice and great delivery, check his other band 'Frontmen'!
In the early 90s(?) Graham Nash rejoined the band for a tour and they came to Cleveland...the vocals were great(Nash on top), and Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott(both vastly underrated) still played great!
Till this day..... im 53, and SOOO Blessed that my Dad, a Vietnam veteran turned me on to these Beautiful songs.. I wanna Cry, But.. In his Memmorie, Nope, Ill keep sharing these songs with my 2 Boys who are 21 n 16.. And they no..

Nothing else better to remember how happy we once could be ! As my mother used to say : _ I don’t know if I dreamed or if I am having a nightmare! Someone might as well be explaining me ?
I have read some of the comments and give or take from the group they always had great harmony and still do. The remarks seem to reflect this. It's very enjoyable listening to a group that still sings extremely well. They have always been one of my favorites.
Been to see The Hollies three times now and all I can say is wow. Yes Alan Clarke is no longer with them but they have evolved. They are a very good bunch of musicians who know how to play to a packed theatre of people with a standing ovation at the end. It's still money worth paying to see this band and all I can say is well done lads you are brilliant and look forward to seeing you all again in October here in Norwich.
Wow. The Hollies! Memories. Especially, "He Ain't Heavy" Whoa! The Hollies always had a "Bright", upbeat sound especially in their voices! Used to like them better than the more popular Beatles!
@Pat Early....hello, not sure if you read my question on one of your post...was enquiring if you were the executive chef at the Gulf Hotel Doha Qatar ...thank you. Stay safe Patrick
I'd pay to see this band. I've been a fan since the 60's. I'd even try and chat with Bobby Elliott. Still of the classiest drummers out there. Nix the negative waves, sit back and enjoy.
Great to see the Hollies late in there career. I'm a fan of the Hollies and a fan of Tony Hicks. Good to see this incarnation of the band thanks for posting this

To everyone complaining that this isn’t the Hollies without Clarke and Nash, no band is the same with new lineups....musicians retire, pass away,go solo or form new bands, that’s life,so get over it and just enjoy the music!
Totally agree. I'm a huge fan and have seen all the line ups over the years. Nothing stays the same, even the Beatles weren't the original line up, no group is. Graham Nash was only in the band for a short while, all the current line up have been there far longer than he was. They are fabulous live in concert, go and see them, you will be blown away!
@@Bunce1949 I watched the Adam Lambert story last night and how he regenerated Queen. Freddie was a much harder, nearly unimaginable, place to fill than Alan, but they managed it. Powerhouse classic songs get you 80% over the lines but quality vocals and charisma the other, vital, 20%. I think this is the failing of this tribute band. Other bands like Foreigner and AC/DC have successfully transcended and transported the music and sentiment to the punters. We've been subjected to all the British "Heritage" bands doing the country circuit here in NSW, ( The Animals and Herman's Hermits the latest) and I've been super disappointed. I like the original lineup of Clarke, Hicks, Calvert (bass), Elliott, and Nash. Clarke's vocals are the best! Unfortunately we won't see nor experience this exceptional concert any time soon.

The first time I saw the HOLLYS was about 1962 when they were known as “Ricky Shaw and the Dolphins”! I always wondered why Tony Hicks never took over lead vocals - he may not sound like Allan Clark but he's an original and is part if their history. Somewhere is a clip if the three singing a few songs without Peter Howard and is seriously sounds authentic...more than this does!

What a class act. Shirts and ties!!! And the best music.

A pity that Allan is not there.
Magnificent vocals, excellent instrument playing!!👌🏼👍🏼
