IMO the correct Answer to "most transferable skill a person should have for life, lifting, family, friends, work, etc...." is discipline.
Discipline - training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character
I mean... it's right there in the definition. Training for proper mentality and MORAL (severely lacking in today's society) character. Be disciplined and relationships and CERTAINLY your lifting life will greatly improve. If you never hold yourself accountable (seemingly 90+% of the population) for ANYTHING - you'll be miserable.... like a majority of society. Discipline and "willpower" go hand in hand IMO and some could make a case they're one and the same. Ideally though, if you consider them 2 separate things.... I'd say it's 2 skills people need to be overall better at life - discipline first and foremost, and willpower. There is way too much "quit" in today's society it's disturbing.... and eagerness to play the victim/ blame game instead of holding oneself accountable for their own fucking life choices and situation. It's your fucking life.... own it. Quit looking for a fucking scapegoat every time something gets remotely difficult..... be disciplined... and have the willpower to BE disciplined. Quit quitting. You can never fail if you never quit. You just learn... and keep going... because you're disciplined. Save the "woe is me" pity party for your death bed/funeral.

I myself suffer from insomnia, and i have tried most natural things there is to be read about on PubMed, and things like melatonin have never worked well for me. For me the 3 things that really helps my sleep is 1 hour before sleep a big cup of doubled brewed chamomile tea with 1 gram og l tryptophan and 5 grams of glycine. You probably also have tried everything for the sleep, but if you haven't tried that stack you really should.

Love the video as always. Lots of great information and inspiration. Unfortunately, I live in a location where there is no strongman training locations around. I live in Dutch Harbor which is on an island in the Aleutians. It is literally impossible to drive 20 minutes away as that would put me into the Bering Sea. There is a decent community gym here that has the basics and it has allowed me to run most of my training fairly decently. I will probably just have to buy the stuff I need to train and see if they will let me store it there. One of these years I hope to find a house here with a garage, but only a handful of the houses here even have a garage. Until then, I just make do with what I have and keep working as hard as I can. Hopefully I will be able to get to a competition in the near future, but it costs about $1200 per person for a round trip plane ticket to Anchorage. Which adds up quickly with a wife and 2 children.

The point about injuries is really interesting. It makes you wonder how many people could have recovered from certain things, but it was really their mindset that failed them.
It is important though to listen to doctors as well, but I can't help but feel like some of their advice is not great, especially physical therapists... Let's all keep in mind they are watching their own backs too first, so they are also just as worried about liability when it comes to helping people. They are going to give recommendations that have the least amount of potential injury, this might not always be best for the individual though.
I don't mean to say they are not anything other than great people too, it's like a hospital that lets you not pay bills... Sure that's nice to do for a while, until you can't pay your own bills that is, and have no way to practice anymore as a result, and suddenly a lot more people aren't being helped at all... We all have to do our own research and take some of the responsibility as well.

Ring rows are the equivalent of push ups on your knees brother. They are not even close to a replacement for heavy bb rows

I too get low back pain from rows, it feels like even when I brace and hinge at the hips, it still feels like my low back is supporting my torso. I'll rewatch your form tutorials but if anyone else has tips please let me know

I also need to add that I may have a glute weakness, I am working on that with hip thrusts

Your back is supporting your torso. But that’s why you need to know how to breathe in breathe correctly. It sounds like you’re not doing that. That is the first place that I would start looking my friend, I hope it helps!

@@BrianAlsruheOfficial Maybe I need coaching, even with a really tight brace (with or without a belt) where my torso feels unbreakable it still feels like my lower back is the primary muscle supporting my braced torso

If your back doesn’t hurt on a Romanian deadlifts or stiff like a dead lift then you are hinging in a different way for the row are you are for other hinging movements
