Jonathan should have renamed Alan Flusser to Flusser & Sigmon first. After Alan's retirement, I think Jonathan's name should be prominent on the door bell as well.
Alan has such a great eye for what would compliment a person's structure and skin tone. And he seems to have a fantastic understanding of what would look pleasureable on the eyes as well as something to challenge the persons understanding of their own style.
I can only dream of one day being able to experience something like this. Such a beautiful garment. I really like Jonathan's demeanour too. You can tell he is knowledgeable and that he cares about his work.
@Campari Soda Of course the clothes are excellent buy Kirby Allison is making a lot of money selling his "brand" which is him and to me if you proclaim yourself to by a sartorial expert you better "walk the walk" and nail such small details! Just my opinion and like the old saying goes, "opinions are like assholes, everyone has one".
I cannot abide people using the saying “lol” or comparable shortcuts nowadays they are even people trying to shortcuts words like four with just simply writing the number this is such an abolishment of the beauty of the English language are so many beautiful language in general. I mean I’m native German and I say we have one of the most beautiful languages as well but the issue remains the exact same.
The chalk stripe looks classy, especially on the navy blue wool. Love the waistcoat, it transforms the experience of the suit to another level, imo. I must complement the choice of the high waisted trousers as well, the proportions seem just right. Great choice of fabric and maker, Kirby. Enjoy it in good health!
Of all the suits you have featured in your videos, this has the greatest presence, gravitas and bucketloads of style! A great look that borrows from the golden age of menswear ! I would love more details on the braces!
I love pinstripe and or chalk stripe suits. The suit that he is wearing looks awesome. Very classic demand presence when you walk into a meeting or any event.
Funny you mentioned that. We filmed the second fitting here in Dallas yesterday, and I paired a Sovereign Grade Dark Navy Grenadine Fino Tie... and WOW. It was Amazing!
I'm a new viewer, loving your content so far and I have to say the suit in this episode is amazing! I don't have such fine things, yet, but I can definitely appreciate it and like I said I very much enjoy your content. 🙂
My goodness. That is a beautiful suit! I love the tones it exhibits while in light and shadow. Both compliment each quite well. My preference would have been to select a dark, solid color contrast tie. Something warm. Perhaps a burnt amber.
Kirby that suit looks like a Million bucks, Awesome suit, you definitely need to get your self a couple more stripe suits, they really make you look more the Professional.
For some reason, I remember that episode of MASH where the pin-stripe suit is delivered, and it's perfect, a great bargain and the stripes run horizontally.
Jonathan is great. The fabric, general trouser waist height, degree of tightness, collar height and jacket silhouette are all very nice. I agree with Jonathan about adding a little room in the waist to allow for better drape. I would definitely not match with that tie though. I look almost like Kirby's twin so it's very helpful in making my own sartorial decisions ;)
Funny you mentioned that. We filmed the second fitting here in Dallas yesterday, and I paired a Sovereign Grade Dark Navy Grenadine Fino Tie... and WOW. It was Amazing! Definitely the better choice. ...and I think Alan still has some of this cloth left...
Excellent...I am a huge fan of pinstripe.....I have on a navy pinstripe 3 piece suit..with a contrasting collar dress shirt....you look great..keep it up...get a pocket watch
@@kirbyallison FYI, I just got my Saphir Shoe cream and wax polish yesterday. Shined my shoes this morning before work...they look amazing. My first Saphir experience and I will NEVER use anything else from now on. Thanks Hanger Project!!!
17:28 Mr. Allison: I watched several of your vids and subscribed. I would enjoy your input on the topic of "fabric roll". Notice the shirt and the large horizontal 'roll'. In all my experience that type of 'roll' is something to avoid via correct fitting. Subtle vertical rolling is typical and normal. My general perception is you need to consider relaxing your fit in some areas. The problem can also arise (or be solved) with an undershirt. To a certain extent, undergarments can dictate the final 'look'.
My off the rack blue chalkstripe is with my tailor now. First striped suit since the 80s, I have a soft spot for 'em! I'm loving Jonathan's suit, classic navy with those awesome peaked lapels to give it some ZAP! Love it!
This reminds me of a striped suit that I owned about 30 years ago. Even then, it was "vintage" as it was made in Germany in 1948. I've never seen another like it- EVERY STRIPE on the suit perfectly lined up wherever the material met at a seam... Talk about German Precision! As far as a higher waist in trousers, they should lie exactly on ones NATURAL waist... The same goes for the main closure button on one's jacket. Anything else looks goofy, like a fella is trying to get by with wearing a kid's suit. I'll never get how hip huggers became to be considered "comfortable".
Love the stripe, love the color and, the waistcoat. Not sure how I feel about the higher waist but looks great on you. Another great video Mr. Allison.
Kirby super interesting video again! Suit looks super!! May I suggest some cuffs to your trousers and maybe shorten them a bit? but it's just my personal taste. All the best
Your videos, Kirby, have reached a new level of professionalism. They are now beautifully scripted, informative and relaxing to watch: a real step up on the early ones. I suspect you also have a new cameraman as his shots are spot on. And thank goodness you’ve ditched the Muzak in favour of appropriate pieces. The pinstriped suit is fab, and will look great at the Carlton. Only problem is that everyone will think you’re a banker or a lawyer!
That suit looks really great on you, really. I would have chosen a more contrasty lining, but that is just me. Like a Hermes Orange or Saddle Brown. Something that makes it more personalized style. Purple? Why couldn't they use the same material for the jacket lining that they used on the vest back? That would look good. That would give it some pizazz, when you flash the inside of the jacket. Personally, I never let them put those satin back of the vests, I ask for the same material on the back of the vest as the front, and it just looks better when you take the jacket off. I wear a vest, but no jacket in the office, and it just looks more complete. I think. (and no buckle at the back of the vest. If it's custom made for you, there doesn't need for an adjustment buckle on the back of the vest. And I don't let them put buttons on the sleeves of the jacket, it's just my affectation.
Like you I'm not much for pin stripes but I have to admit this is a great looking suit. I'm not sure if you come to Atlanta much but do you have any recommendations for M2M or Bespoke tailors in Atlanta?
Hi Kirby, very nice collar on the shirt....good to see it sit higher at the front of your neck. Jacket looks good too.Subtle chalk stripe and nice initial fit to the jacket. Very pleased that this tailoring house devotes so much time to the MTM fittings. To my taste the trousers could be cut a little slimmer with a 16 inch width at the hem and 18 inches at the knee.
Hi Kirby, The suit looks amazing. Thank you for showing it to us. Could you please tell me how long the points of your collars are? I’d like to know the length so that I can also ensure that collars of shirts that I order fit under the lapel. Also, do you know what suiting material Johnathon is wearing? Thank you kindly, Tim
Such an excellent question. We see him have so many bespoke garments and shoes made but does he actually like them and wear them once the videos are done
Jonathan has such incredible presence. This fitting doesn't look like a meeting between an employee and a client, but between two gentlemen.
Jonathan should have renamed Alan Flusser to Flusser & Sigmon first. After Alan's retirement, I think Jonathan's name should be prominent on the door bell as well.
Kirby does talk rather too much.I enjoy his films .However,he is becoming more and more a cross between Liberace and L.Hagman (J.R.Ewing).
Jonathan is so professional and a true gentleman. His clothing combination is on point
outside your comfort zone: i thought you were going to wear t-shirt jeans sneakers lol
Hahaha. Hell hasn't frozen over quite yet. ;)

Best style there is for sure. Makes you stand out from the masses too!
I’ve got a suit that looks almost exactly like that, but with a DB waistcoat. Welcome to the pinstripe club, Kirby!
Cool! I have a J-L master Tourbillon! Sold my first born to buy it 12 years ago!

Irt M. It is an Allan Flusser tie!
I burst out laughing at the slow mo' on the label X'-D.
