- Perfect Tides is a messy game, but one I find myself drawn to regardless of its flaws. It has sharp writing, vividly realized characters, and laugh out loud comedy. A crowdfunding campaign is underway for the sequel, so now is as good a time as any to highlight the original.
I started working on this video after midnight and made the whole thing in four hours please send help.

Something also worth noting is Meredith is a fantastic writer. She had a webcomic for years of a similar kind of theme called Octopus Pie and it is without a doubt one of the best written webcomics I've read. It's about 20 somethings stumbling through life in new york and it's both funny and sad and so worth reading. This is entirely her wheelhouse content wise. If you want more of this style of stuff I recommend you give it a read.
I really enjoyed Meredith's playthrough videos as well, but I think the best way to play the game is with a guide that doesn't tell you anything except a list of actions - that way you still get all the exploration, flavor text, etc on your own, but you get the good ending. For the record, though, I *didn't* get the good ending on my first (blind) playthrough and still really enjoyed the experience. That said, I *was* able to complete both Lily and Simon's stories, so that helped a lot.

You're fired.
Scoot pilgrim vibes I’m digging it
fundraising goal met!
five dollars well spent
Meredith Gran is an amazingly talented writer. Her conic series "Octopus Pie" is one of the most heart felt and honest series I've ever read. I'm really excited to see what else she will do!
That's random, didn't think I would hear about that again. I've read a volume of that at my library and I thought it was very heartfelt.
Wonderful review! You inspire me every time you upload a video, so happy you’re still doing this
Went to the Kickstarter after watching this, and look at that- you WILL be video games!
Anyway, I backed and added the original in the Kickstarter, so I'm looking forward to seeing the start of the story (I am the sort to play blind first, then actually replay with a guide because I'm a masochist like that) and then get the continuation!
C’mon people, help Jacob BE video games.
Update the kickstarter was fully funded 🥳
Nice review, good luck for the KS! We can tell by the visuals, art style, that this project is made with a lot of efforts and passion. I think they deserve the sequel to get backed up successfully!
Hope they watch your video and take this review in consideration to improve the narrative design :)
Mood! I love the game too but there were definitely some frustrating aspects. When I realized I wasn’t getting the good ending and instead was getting the neutral one, I was a bit salty. No hate though, this was the artists first game and they did half the project while pregnant and during COVID. I hope the sequel goes through since I really enjoyed the first game and I’d like to see the second one and see them improve off the first game!
Looks like a sweet game. Hope the sequel gets funded!
I'm not a PC gamer, but this looks like a cool experience!! I hope it gets backed!!!!
It is a pet peeve of mine when a game has multiple endings and each one isn't a satisfying conclusion on it's own.
Its an ending for the game but not necessarily Maras story. It's life and I find that such a more impacting ending than a full tied up story like normal games.
I understand that's not for everyone though
