You can actually weave her strikes in her second form which makes her a little easier. I literally started at 25 and when I passed the fight I was 50 She fucking sucks but thanks for that tip! I’ll definitely use it
The thing i hate about this fight is that It's entirely unclear how I should be dodging (up or down) or when. The game disincentivizes experimentation, which is fine with the other bosses I've played (so far) whose attacks are clear, but this one's a bit rough.
"The game disincentivizes experimentation" this absolutely sums up my experience with the game as well. The fact deaths lock you out of moves you've been steadily unlocking and decreasing your health is absurd to me in a game that seems to revel in its difficulty and demands perfection. Phase 1 of this boss fight is the perfect showcase of how overboard the devs went. The blades with chip damage on the block are so unnecessary when the combo strings are this obtuse. Nothing in the game prior to this teaches you anything about this boss fight, there are no grunts to build this fight up. Sean has clearly readable patterns that can be learned in a few rounds, then suddenly the next boss is endless combo strings that can't be clearly read combined with chip damage on block. Some of this game's progression just makes no sense to me

I beat this boss yesterday, I found out that you can easily parry that long spinning attack where she chases you by spamming L1, and you can do huge structure damage on her.
Just got a perfect run thanks to this, another tip for phase 1 is when she does that crazy chase combo you can mash L1 to parry it as running away usually gets you hit
One reason why I love this game is because I've watched 3x different videos on how to beat the 3rd boss and every single one has a different strategy. Whatever works !
I struggled on this for a little now I can beat her with no damage. I love how you always learn something whenever you die. Love this fucking game man.
Hardly, it gets to you the rain room…. A good chunk of the level complete, but still a distance to go. You’ve still got a long hallway fight, an extra tough brawler in your way, and the twins.
I feel this but at the same time I always feel incentivized to run up to the stair well into the room with the shrine to level something up so everytime I die I go and do that, wish there was a better way
in the first phase when she does the attack where she runs at you swinging you can actually just spam left or right dodge and avoid every single one of her swings, it works better than sweeping her because it usually fills your focus bar to the max and lets you sweep twice if you have an upgraded focus bar.
You need to spam parry that spinning attack that she has where she keeps spinning it like a hose. It will build up your focus. Than sweep here for a free takedown
A somewhat easy method I found for the first phase: At those shrine things, upgrade it so that you get focus bar when you dodge. Now, when you see her doing that blade spinning attack that approaches you from across the whole arena, jump in and start weaving to get that focus bar up, eye jab her, palm push her, run in and sweep kick her, then smack her while she's on the ground. Rinse and repeat. Kind of takes long but it worked for me. If you wanna trigger that spin attack just zone her and she'll do it.
Another way to approach this first part pretty easily: the move Dan points out you can just spam dodge when she does the flurry, I would just run out keep distance which seems to trigger it, let her come at me and dodge like Neo then beat her down. This made it really easy and pretty quick, I adapted that from this video where he mentions you can easily dodge that attack. Ended up being the quickest and easiest way to end her.
I've found that eye strike followed by the heavy |pause| heavy string does solid damage to health and structure. If you're quick enough you can add a sweep in after and get the down attack to follow it all up
Exactly. When I discovered this made the fight way easier because I used to take a few hits when running and now I can avoid all attacks and still get to hit her after she’s done.
I haven’t beat this boss yet, but I’ve noticed the slide kick get you up close easily, you might not get damage but timing it you can get in good range
First time I did this fight I entered it age 30 and didn’t leave since she killed me so many times. I read some comments and Second time around I beat her. For the first phase Run around until she does her endless windmill move. Then spam parry. This builds up her structure and gives you focus. If you’re quick you get time for a single light hit. Once the focus is filled strong sweep her and get a few hits in before repeating the process. You’ll get her dazed a few times where you can really go in and get some real damage. For her second stage you just want to keep weaving down for all her throws and close attacks. For her long range charge you want to weave sideways and then quickly follow up with a heavy (or light but heavy does more damage). This will daze her after a few times and you can beat her just by doing this
Funny enough she's surprisingly easy for me because I played sekiro and she reminded me of lady butterfly.. but that means the second phaze was actually easy.. the first one I had too much trouble with because i wasn't using the dodge
You can spam dash and just stay behind her until she's done with the combo in the 1st stage. 2nd stage all you have to do is stand there dodge when you see her flash 📸 dodge right away and punish.
I really struggle with the second part of this fight but I’ve noticed if you get close enough to her so she begins attacking you can literally just hold L1 and spam dodge backwards to the beat of her attack and she’ll reach a stoping point where you can get in and hit her, rinse and repeat. Second phase is just all over the place lol
For the first phase just hold LB/L1 and spam the left thumbstick side to side and RT/R2 at the same time to doge and avoid simultaneously, building focus, then focus sweep, holf B/Circle for ground punches into standing combo and repeat
I actually found it easiest to wait for her spinning weapon attack and then spam parry up, gives you more focus and still allows you to get some hits in.
Not sure if I can emphasize enough with him, GO INTO THE FIGHT WITH A BAT, and maybe the weapon damage upgrades too. They DEFINITELY help turn the first phase in your favor.
First try started 32, left 74 with a nail biting win. Second try started 32, left 33 with one absolute bullshit death before the boss...spared her AND got the kill nil trophy. Just had to get the rhythm and watching this in between runs helped immensely, thanks my guy.
@@snaxgalore5764 yep yep but I can't make myself pass up those shrines. Museum though at least you can still use a couple of shorter shortcuts and still hit all three shrines. I think it was the blue haired girl that got me, but now I just poke her in the eye and toss her over the rail lol.
@@snaxgalore5764 yes I understand. I'm saying I use a couple of the other shortcuts in the level instead of that one, because I want all three shrines. And that path has the blue haired girl
In the first phase I stayed pretty much in striking range with her... I practiced some avoiding and used that to keep the distance constant . I still did mess up though but I overall used the dodging to win against her.
It's interesting to see how people fight this boss differently, I thought that my way was probably gonna be the most common. The move in which you run away from (the spinning chase thing 1:03) is the one I use to farm the focus points, right before she's in range from spinning I spam the dodge/weave until I have focus for the leg sweep. I just repeat this all the way until her second phase. Where I again spam the weave during her berserking attacks at 6:32 it is possible to dodge all of these attacks, just spam weave/dodge and delay your weave slightly at the end during her last downward attack. This way her fight is a lot like the final bosses move set, which can help sets you up for some good practice when you get to that final fight. Problem with this tactic is that it takes a while to beat her first phase so I wouldn't recommend it for speed runners.
@@FadingZebra Yeah I can't parry to save my life even with regular dudes, so for the spinning chase you want to start weaving downwards way before she's in range as the hitbox during that attack is closer than it looks as for the berserking one during phase 2, I just spam it downwards 4 times and the 5th time wait until she reels back for the downward strike. If your lucky she'll do this same berserking attack twice which will give you more focus points. Personally I think she's one of the easiest bosses, her moves may be random but once you have her timing down during her closing the distance attacks, she's kind of a push over. Also it's around a midrange/far distance for her to do the spinning attack in phase 1, I was able to make her do it 4 times in a row but again it's not very good for speed running because she'll just start doing random swings for no reason if your too close. Sean tho... He's a dick.
You can beat the whirlpool if you have a bat. Spam parry and it's done. Don't even have to time it. It destroys your structure, but it's better than losing all that health if she catches you.
Phase 1 is tricky af. She has 2.5 swinging patterns and 1 of them is punishable. She has a slow 4 combo swing, a fast 5 combo swing (which can also be comboed into an additional combo. You can always punish the 4 combo swing after using your back dash/R2/RT and promptly dash back in to do your hit and back out. On the fast 5 combo swing, unless you're a god at parry/weaving don't bother trying to punish this. the extra combo can be punished if you're comfortable with the side weave delay. if not, let it go. Another of her punishable move is when she starts doing the verticle swing comboes. Either weave/parry/block (whichever you're comfortable with) and punish the attack.
I love the game except for two things: Too often shitty cameras and this boss. I don't mind a difficult game, but I cannot stand it when it's unfair and that's what this boss is.
In the first phase when she’s doing the fast nunchucks maneuver instead of running just avoid and spam the analog stick left and right and that’s an easy punish.
The fact that one has a straight path to this boss should take the worry out of dying and allow players to try different approaches. The worse thing that could happen is that you die and just need to defeat to enemies to get to the elevator. In regards to attack patterns, she has two main ones. If it starts high then the pattern is going to be high, low, low, high, low followed by the slam. If it starts low then her pattern is low, high, low, high. At the end of both of these you can get an attack in. Take the bat with you and if she does the spinning attack, spam parry and her structure meter increases massively.
I've done a little but of research on the bonewheel attack and it doesn't seem to stop until you get into close range with her, it's also actually really good for parrying as it'll damage her posture and give you resolve
One thing I noticed is that on the second phase, when catching the knives and after successfully throwing back and hitting her about 3 or 4 times, she will be stunned for a longer period of time giving you the opportunity to run in, trip that bitch, and give her a 2 piece and a biscuit. Extra crispy! Just keep in mind, once getting hits in while she’s stunned, it will take 3 or 4 more knife catch/throwbacks to have her stunned for that longer period of time!
Honestly despite how much of a PAIN and how HARD it was to spare her sometimes. Kuroki is still my favorite boss and The Museum is my favorite level because of how beautiful and detailed it is with her art showing her trauma.
Phase 1: Be quick. Use L1 and R2 to dodge backwards and sideways for every combo she throws. She is always open at the end of every combo, dodge into her space and hit her with a two piece Y combination. Do this at every single opportunity. Phase 2: Use L1 and dodge to the right. Time it up correctly. She will be open every single time during the end of her combos. Do the same for when she stabs at you, L1 and toggle stick to the right. I beat her the first time at age 70. The next time I tried, I beat her at age 29-> 30. Do this. It works.
when she does that windmill attack in the beginning, i just stand there and smash the dodge button. she attacks so quickly tthat i end up dodging nearly all the attacks and can punish her afterwards
1st phase: she has 2 strings she uses which are both identifiable with how they start. The first string starts down and ends with her weapon at her back-- she has the option to continue the string or end it there. At the end of this string, she is vulnerable for a bit. The second string starts with a middle strike and ends with two sweeping blows she'll use to chase you a bit. She has the option to follow up with a downward strike but at the end of the string and the downward strike, she'll be vulnerable. Whenever she's vulnerable you'll only ever be able to get one or two hits off making her extremely annoying to fight. Whenever she chases you with the 'infinite' spinning attack-- you can actually spam dodge and never get hit if you're a pro... or you can run away like a little chicken. Are you a pro, or a little chicken?
1:12 I was struggling with this boss before ever even witnessing this attack, either that or I just didn't read and acknowledge it. After watching this video I've been clipped & abused by it relentlessly. Ive even reached a stage where I'm irrationally blaming seeing this footage for somehow damaging my psyche, rather than accepting the simple fact I'm personally failing to avoid taking damage effectively. Great game though, it will be worth it when I win. Even if I am in my 70s.
I believe she only really does that attack if you play passively. I used to play mostly up her face and she very rarely did this attack. When I tried Dan's strategy she started throwing these out far more often. This strategy is pretty failsafe but I personally prefer being up her face. Some of her combo patterns can be tricky to avoid though because she mixes highs and lows. Phase 2 is far easier than phase 1.
@@0x6e95 It isnt that tricky. When she throws a low, then shell probably throw some more untile she finishes her combo. If she doesnt throw in a low in the first 2 moves, she will not throw any.

You can also use the kunai you catch to cancel her charge attack. Timing can be weird for that evasion, I find it easier to shut down the charge instead. Also seems to stun her sometimes.
A better attack that she does that is the easiest to dodge is the attack where she goes on forever, when it gets close to you just spam left and right dodge until its over and then you'll have an easy punish, best punish is to sweep then ground hit then focus hit
Thanks for the video mate. Still struggling to keep the right distance to be within range to get a few hits in when she does the jump. Tried parrying and learning her moves to dodge like Sean but your method looks like the safest. Anyway will keep at it.
While blocking you can also hold block -> left/right instead of up/down. So instead of blocking and weaving above and below high and low attacks, you can weave past the ones that come from straight up to the left or right. Try it out standing still.
But if you rush the level using the elevator you miss out on two shrines and skill upgrades, do you not? Also my method for learning her timing is fighting her in training mode and letting her attack me and just verbally calling out her patterns until you’re memorized them and it’s helped me break it down into 4 combos, one of which is all high attacks(easy to dodge), her incessant spinning bs attack(easy to avoid), and two combos that mix up high and low attacks. 1. High low low high low high(now move in and attack her) and 2. High(pause)high-low high low high(now move in and attack her) This approach is for when you want to be right in her face dodging everything

I actually found it easiest to wait for her spinning weapon attack and then spam parry up, gives you more focus and still allows you to get some hits in.
U can slow down time to see if the bosses sweep or high attack
...basic shit always overlooked.. gonna use this to the advantage for sure!
this is the most useful guide I've seen ever
Not sure if I can emphasize enough with him, GO INTO THE FIGHT WITH A BAT, and maybe the weapon damage upgrades too. They DEFINITELY help turn the first phase in your favor.
Bro is saving me 1 year later
First try started 32, left 74 with a nail biting win.
Second try started 32, left 33 with one absolute bullshit death before the boss...spared her AND got the kill nil trophy.
Just had to get the rhythm and watching this in between runs helped immensely, thanks my guy.
You can skip straight to the boss unless once you get there once
@@snaxgalore5764 yep yep but I can't make myself pass up those shrines. Museum though at least you can still use a couple of shorter shortcuts and still hit all three shrines. I think it was the blue haired girl that got me, but now I just poke her in the eye and toss her over the rail lol.
@@bobbybigfellow8516 no dude! You can go straight to the elevator you only have to defeat 2 guards then straight to the boss lol
@@snaxgalore5764 yes I understand. I'm saying I use a couple of the other shortcuts in the level instead of that one, because I want all three shrines. And that path has the blue haired girl
@@bobbybigfellow8516 yea I suppose that would help to get all the shrines as long as you don’t die
For the spinning chase, do you weave left/right or just down?
I wish I could parry her but her moveset is just so unpredictable.
@@FadingZebra
Yeah I can't parry to save my life even with regular dudes, so for the spinning chase you want to start weaving downwards way before she's in range as the hitbox during that attack is closer than it looks as for the berserking one during phase 2, I just spam it downwards 4 times and the 5th time wait until she reels back for the downward strike.
@@FadingZebra left right.
I thought i was the only who knew and first lol
You can spam avoid when she's doing the infinite spinny charge move at you so you can also pounce on her when she does that.
1:12 you can backwards dodge really quickly until she’s done then that gives you an opening to strike
If you use charging back fist chainsaws by something like lightning fists you can delete any boss when they try to start a combo
For that first phase: take the baseball bat from the first 2 mobs with you in the elevator. Will make your life in phase 1 a lot easier
Weaving left and right (instead of up and down) during that long attack in the first stage is really effective and you can even punish her in the end.
Even better, you can parry her a lot. You may take some damage, but if you parried most of the time shell be down half her structure
Thank you so much for these boss fight videos they’re really helping my I truly appreciate it
One thing I noticed is that on the second phase, when catching the knives and after successfully throwing back and hitting her about 3 or 4 times, she will be stunned for a longer period of time giving you the opportunity to run in, trip that bitch, and give her a 2 piece and a biscuit. Extra crispy!
Just keep in mind, once getting hits in while she’s stunned, it will take 3 or 4 more knife catch/throwbacks to have her stunned for that longer period of time!
Thank you so much I struggled hard, and now watching this video, I was able to beat her after 5 deaths 😭
Just started playing this a few days ago, I'm at the museum age 32, kinda bummed out I had to watch a video to figure it out, thanks.
Playing sifu on my second day playing i got to the museum at age 37 i was lit buddy love the level design im so excited for the next level
How is no one talking about the fact that the first phase is literally a Kill Bill reference
Little trick for second faze try to weave when her blades sparkle you should always be able to weave it with no prob
Honestly despite how much of a PAIN and how HARD it was to spare her sometimes. Kuroki is still my favorite boss and The Museum is my favorite level because of how beautiful and detailed it is with her art showing her trauma.
Stick weapons can block knife attacks FYI. So if you carry a baseball bat into the file, you can full on go guard mode on here dance.
Mate your Sifu guides are fantastic
like he said keeping a little bit of distance is key and i notice if u spam the dodge button and move left and right she can’t touch u
I love the game , went to this boss at age 21
She put me game over. Senseless boss
Do this. It works.
Thanks man, this definitely helped
very very nice man thank you for this i apreciate it .
when she does that windmill attack in the beginning, i just stand there and smash the dodge button. she attacks so quickly tthat i end up dodging nearly all the attacks and can punish her afterwards
First try w this guide. Amazing. Thank you.
Awesome strategy I’m definitely using this!
I found that just moving side ways using (Shift) button on the keyboard while fighting her spares me the agony of dodging her attacks.
thaaaaannnnnks so much this helped me so much
it helps a lot! thanks Dan
You can get a key to the elevator and take it straight to the boss fight as soon as you start the level. Tough boss to beat still.
Great tutorial. Went from getting doodooed on multiple 6-7 death runs to almost no deaths in 1 try. 👍
Very informative, helped me beat Sean, or at least gave me little nit pickings so I can figure it out on my own. And now I can fight Sean without even dying. And now this video helps me understand how to fight her, with more practice I can learn how to beat her with no death. Thank you!
After some practice I think Sean is the easiest boss even easier than the 1st his first phase is easy af you just gotta watch for the sweep on his second phase
@@kingflocka6501 for surely Sean is the easiest boss once you get the dodge down.
You rock! This helped me so much. Finally beat her at age 28. Now, let's hope I can get through the 4th and 5th levels.
The 4th is super weak to the swipe focus she takes a lot of life and structure damage just make sur you use the sanctuary before her to finish your focus bar ^^
@@adam622500 Thanks for the tip! I'll let you know how it turns out.
@@stevenrogers5912 thks i finished the game with the perfect ending a few hours ago ;) Wang is a true final boss but i spare him at the second try ( at the cost of my whole lifetime 😂😂 )
Thx man this helped a lot. Now I can start the tower with age 20🤠👍🏽
Honestly, the 2nd phase is much easier than the first, I never know where to dodge on the 1st phase
Thanks this really helped I passed it!!
I just found out that if u have the perk that allows u to catch items being thrown at u that u can catch her knives and use them against her. Amazing game
Thanks a lot!
Tx. For both vids. You know when you say you can catch the knives. How can you dodge them instead? R2 or R1 and down/back
‘I’m not trying to make it stylish, just get you through it’- me to myself for all my life 😅
You can also use the kunai you catch to cancel her charge attack.
I got a good tip…defeat Sean’s disciple take her staff and just take the elevator to the top floor …she struggles against distance weapons
Thanks for the video mate. Still struggling to keep the right distance to be within range to get a few hits in when she does the jump. Tried parrying and learning her moves to dodge like Sean but your method looks like the safest. Anyway will keep at it.
She has too many moves for how many changeups she throws at you.
Not to mention her weapon of choice doesn’t make telegraphing her moves and easier.
@@nicks4802 Finally beat her at the sweet age of... 73. I'm off to try again
I’m just starting to fight her. Finding joy on the same attacks, but i’m weaving up, down, up, down and then punishing
You say "weave" but are you blocking, high, low, or deflecting? I tried a whole fight trying to figure out out but ended up dying
While blocking you can also hold block -> left/right instead of up/down. So instead of blocking and weaving above and below high and low attacks, you can weave past the ones that come from straight up to the left or right. Try it out standing still.
*When you perfect avoid*
Is this the power of Ultra Instinct?
Thanks again bro. Fuck! I needed this
Thank you! Finally beat her, may have been at 74yo when I did, but I’m getting less old every run now
But if you rush the level using the elevator you miss out on two shrines and skill upgrades, do you not?
Also my method for learning her timing is fighting her in training mode and letting her attack me and just verbally calling out her patterns until you’re memorized them and it’s helped me break it down into 4 combos, one of which is all high attacks(easy to dodge), her incessant spinning bs attack(easy to avoid), and two combos that mix up high and low attacks.
1. High low low high low high(now move in and attack her) and
2. High(pause)high-low high low high(now move in and attack her)
This approach is for when you want to be right in her face dodging everything
I miss hearing “greeting sekiro guru here” when i look for a boss tutorial.
With the rushing spinning vertical strike. I find it easy to doge just rapidly mash back dodge and strike when the attack ends
its so funny cause the first two bosses are so easy then she comes along and is unpredictble hard hitting and seems like he cant tdodge fast enough but then her second phase is a lot easier
Im realizing now on the 25yo run, that I kinda just threw bodies at her until 2nd stage. Hence why im here learning how to actually fight her, so thank you lol
Thanks man!
