I think what brought people back was the realization that games feel different from before. Minecraft sacrifices a true objective to give the player more control and let them write their own story. You don’t have to worry about doing something a certain way to progress, you just have fun playing. Good video bill! You’re getting better with each one

I think the reason Minecraft has stayed relevant for so long is the same way how gmod has managed to stay relevant. It is the fact that you can do whatever you want and the game is configured whether intentional or not to be easily missed and configure to give the player even more customisability and options than before and the fact that the community is always pushing both games to their absolute limits in what they can do.
That’s a great point. The freedom and ability to do whatever the player wants is a great way to keep a game around, especially if it involves mechanics like building or designing, because you can create anything!
One thing I feel is keeping minecraft alive is the fact that even if you don't like an update or something, you can easily play different versions of the game.
That’s true it’s very versatile and not many games have that option
I think minecraft bedrock edition also had a huge impact on its popularity. Yeah i prefer java but a lot of my friends don't have computers and so its nice to have the bedrock edition to play with my friends who play on consoles or their phones. I think bedrock has a lot of problems but it makes playing with others really easy and simple so i like it for that.
I get that. There are different editions and each have their ups and downs but Minecraft as a whole is just a great game. Thanks for sharing🫶‼️

For it was the mods that brought it back. Like recently doing a playthrough from start to finish using Distant Horizon and Bliss shader... just made it a fundementally different experience, encouraging me to explore a lot more and feel more immersed as I could see the far away landmarks around me

I always thought the popularity of hardcore minecraft challenges on yt (Luke TheNotable) in 2020 was responsible for Minecraft’s comeback, but the updates definitely did help minecraft’s comeback as well it’s so much different from when I played it in like 3rd grade (Also great video really well made 👍🏽)

Hacket Mincraft has technically had a comeback here in 2024 and I know that because a lot of players are playing Minecraft and stuff like I literally started playing Minecraft again a few months ago earlier this year
Same here, I wasn’t fully aware of its new updates but I decided to give it a try anyway and it was a great time. still building my castle now actually
I hated the mob votes and the empty promises but it looks like they're addressing that. 1.20 and 1.21 are really good updates and I can't wait to see what's coming in the future

I'm pretty sure the one mostly responsible for Minecraft's comeback was PewDiePie back in 2019..
back then he was in his prime, and aside that Minecraft was still falling off despite having consistent new cool updates like the aquatic/village & pillage update..
Him making a minecraft video after so long got his audience (a LOT of people) engaged with the new stuff Minecraft has to offer, and boy were they all satisfied..
Yea that’s true I was a big fan of pewdiepie especially his big Minecraft world.. and he made the videos well for people to binge and watch for a long time

@@billwya sorry, I don't want to be offensive but nearly every new minecraft video I see now has this new style of videos where creator needs to put as many edits as possible to catch audience attention like videos on tiktok.
