I use my biggest brush and an artist pallet most of the time, the one with concave circles to mix paint. For basecoats I water down about 1/2, and for layer color transitions I water down 2/3 or more with water and glaze medium. Load your brush with as much paint as you can and place the paint on your pallet, clean the brush and then load your brush with water and drop some water on the paint and mix. You can also get some dropper bottles for droping your water, thining medium or glaze medium.

'Scab red' is 'khorne red' now by the way, great tutorial though :D I kinda watched this so I knew how to paint the skin on illuminor szeras severed head he's holding..
Great tutorial mate ! I really liked it :-) BTW, Vallejo has a range called Game Color, they are pretty much vallejo copies if GW's old paint line. Their Gory Red(011) is the same as GW's red gore. Problem is, a lot of hobby shops don't carry that line, but you can order the colors from your retailer or online stores.This line is why GW changed all their colors a while back
How much water do you usually use to thin your paint? also what is the best method to do so (like pouring it into a cup or what?). I'm completely new to paint for real! Last time i just slapped some silver on some necrons lol
