It says so much about what a decent, good hearted person Karl is that when he’s asked to write down 3 confessions of wrong doing from his past the worst things he can think of is opening a randoms mail, putting putty in a kids hair and stealing candy bars.
I mean it is illegal to open someone's post, so that's pretty naughty. We've probably all done it though, just to see if it's something important that needs to be forwarded to a previous tenant or if it's just spam you can throw out.

between Karl and the guy who said he will have heart problems Karl is the best sidekick because Karl once actually predicted Covid 19...it was years ago when Karl said that there would be a global pandemic which is a virus by the year 2020 and he even said that people would social distance each other which of course did happen. I 100% agree with you Mandy. It would be great if you could go on a holiday where everything is planned and arranged for you and you just can kick back and be a passenger on the trip. The problem with every holiday I’ve ever been on is that it’s a lot of work doing everything yourself and you almost need a holiday to recover from your holiday when you get back.
Great stuff, glad to see you starting on this series. Karl told a story on XFM where someone tried to mug him for his shoes but he refused to hand them over because he’d worked hard to pay for them. The mugger gave up I believe. Probably had enough of Karl moaning at him.
I've watched this show at least once a year since it came out. Always great to come back to. Now I'm back to watch my favorite reactor watch the show for the second time. I got a feeling this will go on for years! Karl is such a treasure. He needs to be protected at all costs!
Well, the parts of the Great (sorry, the Alright Wall haha) of China you most often see in tourist videos vlogs and such, are the parts repaired like Karl said, north of Beijing, to make it safe for visitors. The Wall is actually incredibly long, longer than people think, and the big majority of its length is basically crumbling overgrown and neglected like what Karl saw. That isn’t even where it ends. The Wall is actually 13,000 miles long and peters out into the deserts in the western part of the country but those sections are so remote the ruins are hard to find, and in those areas it’s estimated that some 37 miles worth of the wall will be lost to erosion from desert sandstorms in the next few decades.
When Karl says thar you're supposed to be able to see the great wall from the moon, it wouldn't be possible even with a huge telescope. But I remember there was a news story when I was a lot younger on how it could be seen from the international space station orbiting the earth, with a very modest amount of magnification.
42:16 😂😂 I remember in primary school we had 1 teacher for everything per year. 9 times out of 10 and occasionally another teacher who specialised in something would come in and run the lesson while the main teacher would be in the background assisting. We had a drama teacher called Mr Fotheringham (his lessons were the best!). We also had a lot of Scottish country dancing lessons, which a lot of us hated and I can’t remember if they took over Gym class (they called it that back then) or if they were separate. Well anyway, the M6 is kinda like a road network backbone of the North West region of England, and it passes Manchester where Karl’s from.

China has everything he says they don’t. But as ricky said he wants him in uncomfortable situations. They specifically sent him to places they new were weird. Go to the big cities and you will get better Chinese food better than any western country, with no insects. Plus western toilets. Ricky does a great job in the series of finding the perfect places to make Carl uncomfortable.
the idea behind the fire massage is the pain from it creates adrenaline at the pain points and that rush of adrenaline is thought to help heal the body of long term pain , like in your joints, or even help with digestion and weight loss from the extra adrenaline.
Welcome to the absolute weird and wonderful rabbit hole of Karl Pilkington! He splits opinion over whether he’s a moron or a genius! But you can’t help but love the guy!
Enjoyed this soooo much and i'm loving how much you're totally immersed into Karl's world now haha. 26:17 it would be but it’s a bit of a double edged sword kind of situation. It gets rid of the stress and indecisiveness of planning where to go and what to do, but replaces that with the stress of leaving that and your holiday at the mercy of someone else! It ticks a lot of boxes An Idiot Abroad...fish out of water drama, travel documentary and comedy. Well discovered. Also, I have learned that biro isn't the internationally recognised word for ball point pen. That explains a few blank looks in the past.
@@ruk2023-- LOL, I knew that ball point pens were invented by an Argentinian, but here they are call it "birome" and it is pronounced bee - rome - eh so I didn't put the two together 🤷🏻♀️🤪

Brilliant show, brilliant reaction. Loved this show for years and all the podcasts and radio shows before this. Still have them playing in the car sometimes 😆 Looking forward to the next episode
Dangit, Karl. There are two reasons you don't continue the wall into the ocean. First of all, it's impractical. Second, if there's a known gap, that's called cannalizing the enemy. If they all come through one spot... you put a garrison there and it's like shooting fish in a barrel as they all go for that one opening.
Edit: Love how you find the humor in this, and are not afraid to laugh heartily. Most people are too uptight, in a hurry and or afraid to. This fortune telling stuff works on simple minded people like Karl. Since they can be convinced to let go of these wrongs they've done in their life, that are weighing on them. Which is therapeutic in a way. As to PE teachers never being proper PE teachers. I had 3 different ones from grades 1-12, 2 different schools, all were proper PE teachers, with degrees and all. Didn't teach other subjects. About hitting these metal bars over your head to break it. These must have been really brittle, especially on the breaking point, just judging by how carefully they handled them when showing that these were metal, barely touching just to make a slight metallic sound for demonstration. I would not be surprised if just by moving these too fast, they'd break off a piece. Also the shorter the piece, the harder it is to break by hitting stuff. Of course Karl didn't understand any of it.
Thank you but dude, it was China. Could have been any kind of bird or reptile... I am more surprised it was chichen and not duck or eagle or something else 🤪
i was impressed how well u understood English as u speak American English and hes from manchester in north England so well done and great reactions too
Esto fue extremadamente perfecto. Viajo con mi pareja el lunes para visitar a sus padres en Canadá. Cuando regrese, tendré una semana de Mandy. Realmente eres fantástico.
Regarding the fortune teller and the heart problem, it is one of the most common things people die to. so its just pure statistics, and one way to stave off heart conditions is getting exercise, so sending him all these different places is probably just a " mystical " way of making him get some exercise.
33:39… No, you can’t see the Great Wall from the moon, that’s a myth, if that were true, you’d be able to see every highway, interstate as well, as they’re even wider & longer than the Great Wall but, alas you can’t….
I would imagine the lights on the radio would be an alarm (if it has a clock function) so it could silently wake you or give you extra impetus to get up with the alarm as well. If you serve up insect everyone gets a leg! I think mugging is more common where Karl's from.
Hi Mandy, You mentioned how many of these was there,, this is the wonders of the world,, there is more, one where they send Carl to do ''Bucket Lists'' and another where he is sent and he is not alone !!
@@MandyCaneLane ..and when they made that pilot episode "learn english with Ricky Gervais", this was the trip that made Karl speak so much about chinese..
Love the effort u went to do this! Great video as usual! Keep up the amazing work ❤
So glad you enjoyed this so much. I guess we'll be seeing Episode 2 very soon :) You're right that the Alright Wall of China cannot be seen from the moon or space. As for the fortune telling, well, that's just a load of nonsense - period. And you don't need to see any of the Ricky Gervais show before watching these, so press on and enjoy the wonder of Karl. As for Karl's diary... it's obviously brilliant and to tease you further on that, he writes poetry. So you might want to check that out too. :) And there is still so much yet to discover, such as, Rockbusters :) A music quiz that Karl made up that he did every week on the XFM radio show. Something else for you to discover. I think better to find the compilations vids and do them in parts. Loved your reaction to this.
@@MandyCaneLane Sorry, I just added something to my post as you replied. :) Dunno if you caught that. On episode 2, you should start your video with a Karl style "a'right?" :)
@@MandyCaneLane Haha :) I can believe that. Y'know I watch a few reaction channels and I think I can confidently say you're the best one and easily my favourite. You're making some of the others look so ordinary.
Yeah the m6 is one of Britain’s major motorways and a wimpy home is a new build house. One of the major companies that knocks up cheap newbuild houses is called Taylor Wimpy. We all prefer our older houses over here because they used to build things to last. Probly why he’s so annoyed the wall was fixed. In britian all our historical monuments are generally the same as they were way back or if they do get restored they use stones n stuff from the same time period etc.
You're in for a treat with these Mandy ... best reaction by far, looking forward to the next one ... there are 3 series / 20 episodes, plus a deleted scenes video ... fair play to Karl, he never refused to do or try anything ... & the wall will forever be know as " The Alright Wall of China" 😂 ... at the end of an episode they sometimes show the next episode trailers, you're better of stopping before them like you did but up to you ☺
@@MandyCaneLane The Moaning of Life is a British travel documentary comedy television series broadcast on Sky 1. It follows Karl around the world as he visits other cultures. Unlike An Idiot Abroad, which had a similar premise, The Moaning of Life sees Karl actually choosing to visit other countries in order to see how they face up to some of life's biggest issues with their cultures and customs. He also reassesses his life now that he has reached the age of 40 (at the time of recording) which he considers to be "middle age". The series has eleven one-hour episodes, and sees Pilkington visiting Ghana, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, South Africa, Taiwan, and the United States. Its original broadcast run in the United Kingdom began on 20 October 2013. Ricky isn't involved in this, it was Karls project ... not many have been able to react to it coz it gets blocked but it's worth you watching it after Idiot Abroad, Karl is more relaxed ! (Slightly)
btw i think you would absolutely love Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency and would laugh out loud a lot and it is legit brilliant tv that no one knows about and it stars the guy who played Frodo in LOTR. it's not a spoiler to tell you that the opening scene involves a black kitten and a murder scene i hope plus a very convoluted show so you won't guess what that really means trust me lol, anyway i love your energy as a reactor and look forward to checking out more of your channel

Karl eating a packet of pickled onion monster munch in the middle of China is gold 🤣 😂
Funny reaction. I enjoyed it quite well.
"A fetus of what animal could possibly be inside an egg?" had me feeling somewhat cringy tho
Thank you but dude, it was China. Could have been any kind of bird or reptile... I am more surprised it was chichen and not duck or eagle or something else 🤪
i was impressed how well u understood English as u speak American English and hes from manchester in north England so well done and great reactions too
Thank you Barry! 🤗🤗
Esto fue extremadamente perfecto.
Viajo con mi pareja el lunes para visitar a sus padres en Canadá.
Cuando regrese, tendré una semana de Mandy.
Realmente eres fantástico.
Thank you so much Charlie! I hope you both have a fantastic trip!! 🤗🤗
@@MandyCaneLaneTienes esta maravillosa ora.
Deberías considerar la televisión convencional.
naturalmente encantador y entretenido.
@@charliecosta3971 🤗🤗🙈🙈 I wish 🤪
Regarding the fortune teller and the heart problem, it is one of the most common things people die to. so its just pure statistics, and one way to stave off heart conditions is getting exercise, so sending him all these different places is probably just a " mystical " way of making him get some exercise.
😂😂😂
Thank you for the reaction - the highlight of my week!
Glad you enjoyed it Antony! 🤗🤗
It's nice to see you enjoying this. Wish I could experience it for the first time again
I LOVED this, and am so excited for more!! 🤗🤗
@@MandyCaneLane well take your time, enjoy them and don't feel you have to rush them out.
Mandy you are going to love this series, Karl is a down to earth lovable buffoon...enjoy
Loved the first episode, so I can't wait to watch more! 🤗🤗
33:39… No, you can’t see the Great Wall from the moon, that’s a myth, if that were true, you’d be able to see every highway, interstate as well, as they’re even wider & longer than the Great Wall but, alas you can’t….
Very entertaining, keep it up!
Thank you Morgan! I had so much fun!! 🤗
I would imagine the lights on the radio would be an alarm (if it has a clock function) so it could silently wake you or give you extra impetus to get up with the alarm as well. If you serve up insect everyone gets a leg! I think mugging is more common where Karl's from.
The clock thing actually sounds cool! 🤗
Hi Mandy, You mentioned how many of these was there,, this is the wonders of the world,, there is more, one where they send Carl to do ''Bucket Lists'' and another where he is sent and he is not alone !!
Sounds great Mouse! I can't wait! 🤗🤗
Finaly back to Karl! ..no heart atacks..
Thank you! No one else filled me in on that! Haha 😂😂
@@MandyCaneLane ..and when they made that pilot episode "learn english with Ricky Gervais", this was the trip that made Karl speak so much about chinese..
@@ROBOTRIX_eu ohhhh!!! Hahaha NOW that makes sense! 😂😂😂
Mandy Cane Lane ur pretty kool, (operative word there being 'Pretty' of course........) great Laugh
Love the effort u went to do this! Such great high quality content and love how u actually take the time to pause and offer some insight and opinions on the situations etc. most people I see just tend to watch the video and not really say a word and just use the content. Great video as usual! Keep up the amazing work ❤
Thank you so much Kian! I love doing these and like to make an effort! 🤗🤗 This was so fun, I can't wait to watch more!! 🤪
@@MandyCaneLane can’t wait for those :)
Omg it's started
In bed with a sickness bug and something decent to watch
Hope you feel better soon Rob! 🤗
Can't help but love Karl despite him having a head like a effing orange 🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊🍊
So glad you enjoyed this so much. I guess we'll be seeing Episode 2 very soon :)
You're right that the Alright Wall of China cannot be seen from the moon or space.
And there is still so much yet to discover, such as, Rockbusters :) A music quiz that Karl made up that he did every week on the XFM radio show. Something else for you to discover. I think better to find the compilations vids and do them in parts.
Loved your reaction to this.
Thank you so much Rusty Dog! I had so much fun watching this, I can't wait to watch more!! 🤗🤗
@@MandyCaneLane Sorry, I just added something to my post as you replied. :)
Dunno if you caught that.
On episode 2, you should start your video with a Karl style "a'right?" :)
@@CMDRRustyDog Got it! And I can't say that like him with out laughing. It is just too dry! 🤪😅
@@MandyCaneLane Haha :) I can believe that.
Y'know I watch a few reaction channels and I think I can confidently say you're the best one and easily my favourite. You're making some of the others look so ordinary.
@@CMDRRustyDog Wow! What a compliment! Thank you SO MUCH! It makes me so happy that people are liking my videos! I am so glad you are enjoying them 🌈🤗
Love your reactions. Can't wait for the next episode!
Thank you! Already working on episode 2!!! 🤗🤗🤗
@@MandyCaneLane Yay!
Thank you for explaining! 🤗🤗
really enjoyed that thanks.
Thank you so much Paul! I am glad you did! 🤗
I had the greatest P.E. teacher, the greatest math's teacher and the greatest Religious Education teacher, and they left me completely confused.
You're in for a treat with these Mandy ... best reaction by far, looking forward to the next one ... there are 3 series / 20 episodes, plus a deleted scenes video ... fair play to Karl, he never refused to do or try anything ... & the wall will forever be know as " The Alright Wall of China" 😂 ... at the end of an episode they sometimes show the next episode trailers, you're better of stopping before them like you did but up to you ☺
I enjoyed this so much, I can't wait to watch more!! And good little tip about the endings. Thank you! 🤗🤗
(Slightly)
A biro is just a pen.
btw i think you would absolutely love Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency and would laugh out loud a lot and it is legit brilliant tv that no one knows about and it stars the guy who played Frodo in LOTR. it's not a spoiler to tell you that the opening scene involves a black kitten and a murder scene i hope plus a very convoluted show so you won't guess what that really means trust me lol, anyway i love your energy as a reactor and look forward to checking out more of your channel
Great reaction love how interested you are and your energy can't wait for more 😊
Thank you!! I can't wait to watch more of this! 🤗🤗
watching Karl being forced to travel broadens the mind :D hehe
😂😂
Awesome video as always x ❤
Thank you Psycho Soma 🤗🤗
Karl managed to avoid his 90% Death from his Heart issue, by following the Ancient Wisdom...
That was the only thing the fortune teller told him.
😂😂
A lot of countries, the sewer system can't cope with paper waste. They do sometimes have waste bins by the side of the toilet... ew... Everyone I know ignores those and flushes it anyway.
😕😬
It begins, The Alright Wall Of China :)
A Biro is a cheap ballpoint pen.
Invented by Laszlow Biro.
34:30 so did I at first 😂😂 tbh I don’t think he’d’ve survived, there were parts of it that just collapsed off cliffs and turned into death drops!
