You shouldn't have it touching that bottom like that. It can damage the unit. Put it in a tray or something cushioned at the bottom.
I believe if you read the instructions you should always use the basket.You don't want the items directly on the transducer. Also the solution that you use is very important depending on what your cleaning. If you use the correct solution for your material you should not need more than 5 minutes. jewelry should have a 70 30 mix water and cleaning ammonia. The cleaning solution should be what you would use if it weren't in the UC. It's not a miracle machine, but it works awesome if you use the correct detergents. For example, would you take rust of of a nail with just water. NO. Same applies here. Now do this, put a rusty nail in a mixture of 60% water and 50% CLR or equivalent, and let me know what happens in the UC for just 5 minutes. Its magic.

@@murphysmomneedstomop7734 are you kidding?!?! Bad Chinese instructions?!?!? For the amount of factors that a UC creates in cleaning so many things, these UC have the worst instructions of almost any product from china. You could write a book on Ultrasonic cleaning and most of this equipment come with poorly written instructions at best. Good luck and experiment with the solutions.
I've learned from this video, to always take my jewelry to a Professional. I wouldn't risk me damaging my valuables.
That basket has some huge holes. How on earth do you do small things like earring studs without them falling right through?
After I filmed the video I found a broken tea strainer in my kitchen and started to use it. It works really well.
You need jewelry cleaner in it not just plain water

Are those ultrasonic cleaners very loud?
It's a high pitched buzz, so it can get somewhat loud.

Just detergent doesn't work. You have to get a jewelry cleaner solution. On top of that you are not suppose to put pieces in there that have loose diamonds or stones. And it will not polish tarnished pieces. And use a polishing cloth not a towel for sterling silver pieces. Would not recommend putting glasses in there, lol you will just loosen screws and damage glasses.
