"I know a place where you can get it for 54 cents man" - Legend
It's india
@@vishn100 it's 20-30 cents at most for coriander in india, atleast where I am.
Most shopkeepers give coriander for free.
Need more videos of this chef! He's solid. Big fan from the UK!

Indian food may be the tastiest food on the planet.
Yes it is soo good 😁💜
Wouldn't surprise me. As everyone says when it comes to Indian food. They don't mess around when it comes to seasoning.
Unhealthiest

You should try indonesian food
You need this Chef to be appearing in more of your videos, I watch a lot of videos about cooking and I can tell when someone is true to their art.
Ingredients may be just 15 dollars, but his training, experience and skill is worth a lot more. Not something a regular Joe can do.
He knows what he is doing for sure, but these are common dishes from southern India, nothing fancy.
Go to UA-cam tons of videos to teach you that. Out of that dosa is simplest and cheapest and tastiest.
@@Shiva11111 I agree that Dosa is simplest and cheapest but definitely not tastiest. It's taste is pretty average.
too bad it says Pro Chef & not Regular Joe in the title
Thank you for sharing this chef’s unique Indian food creation. As a young home cook myself (haha), I noticed the chef has a good reel on textures (in addition to flavor). He has a well-rounded concept on the flavors, timings & combinations (for certain textures of the ingredients). I enjoy watching him, thanks 👍
That dessert is making me drool 🤤
As a Tamilan living outside India, I am happy to see Fish dosa and Paniyaram being made cheap and tasty
its not cheap its literally more thnan 1200 rupee and under 1000 rupee we can eat many things I india
@@dragoon14270 That's an issue of buying power between countries. Those ingredients would be much cheaper in India than where they were actually bought, but compared to what other foods can be bought in that area, it's very cheap. Cost of food in general is much less in India than in the US, which is pretty interesting.
Is Fish dosa actually a thing bro? Love dosa myself, but haven't ever come across one Fish one!
as soon as I saw him making dosa I went HE'S MAKING DOSAS
as a fellow indian, I love this guy, and then he's making PANIYARAM this guy is a true south indian
respect
I'm in love with Indian food, It all starts with butter chicken and man the recipes are keep going and going almost endless. Hopefully I will visit India one day and try a lot of food! 😋 Great video skilled chef. 🙌🏻
Man I love that dudes spice setup
That setup for spices is what you can see in most of the Indian houses
@@rohitsurvase7785 can I just search "Indian spice rack" if I want to buy my own?
@@matttran7161 Yes and it'll cost less than the glass spice racks
@@matttran7161 yeah definitely! It's the one you find in most Indian households, so I'm sure you can find one in any Indian grocery store or on amazon
You can even find it at local South Asian grocery stores for $20-25 max
Idk, but I guess it's my Indian soul that feels so goood when someone eats Indian food and likes it!
I love in general watching people cooking, doing their thing, love it 💪🤞
"you're paying by the weight" lmao I love this man
Enjoyed this episode, everything looks delicious! Love how Indian food incorporates various textures and variety!
Ì find Indian food the best food out there. It incorporates so many different elements to make such a great dish. Such a large variety of your diet consists within a dish, and the health benefits from all those spices, amazing!
Find a chef that'll go to a random person's house. Have them pull things from their cupboards and fridge and see what meals they can come up with in the same style.
Really smart guy. Readymade materials cost more, so he took raw materials and then used them. Took 1 day of waiting, but just like in house
let him COOK!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️💯💯💥💥💥💥💥💯💯💯

Awesome video! Such an inspiring talent.
This chef is amazing! I'm so into this food
He just keeps going lol, wonderful video
That chef is awesome!
What a lovely man! Legend.
I wish i had this skill set. Been learning to cook, but it gets expensive sometimes.
Onions and potatoes. They are in my top 5 foods for a reason. Cheap and great to learn knife technique. Also taste pretty decent when cooked in oil/butter and seasoned nicely.
Add some flour into the mix to make sauces. Buy chickens whole to use everything the butcher throws away and charges you for their work.
Rice is another one of my top 5. If you buy in bulk it's cheap for good rice. I buy my rice in 25kg bags (about 55lbs).
No joke look at how much a 20lb bag of onions and potatoes cost, they can be stored for months in a pantry if done correctly.
Good luck in your learning and I hope you enjoy the process and the dishes.
Edit: If you have fishing gear... A can of white corn and a can of tuna packed in oil, mix them together. Some of the best bait for fishing, for like $2 you can have bait for a lot of different kinds of fish. You can check garage sales for a cheap rod and reel set up, the person selling it might have more gear for cheap too.
So guys the moral is to Never get amazed when India sends Satellite into space in less then the budget of some Hollywood movies 😂. We are experienced in enjoying life in what ever little we have. God bless u all. 🙏

Looks delicious.
I would love to get some lessons from this guy.
He’s the best hidden chef 😊
I loved this video as well. Yummy
He is amazing !
You might want to correct a subtitle where it says urdal gota, it should be urad dal gota. Also, gota just means whole i.e. what you guys got was whole urad dal; instead of the split one(one with pods opened) which is black for this dal.
He's a South Indian using North Indian terms because that's what labels in US supermarkets say. Given a chance, I'm sure he'd call it paruppu
Looks delicious 😋
At first I was shocked that you could cook Indian food with less than twenty dollars. But then you didn’t have to include the cost of the vast array of spices that make even modestly priced ingredients taste amazing. Stocking up on all the spices initially can set you back quite a bit. At least if your buying them in the US.
Those spices are not costy, the spices used in video can be buy under 1 or 2 dollars
The problem is you guys buy a lot of spices good enough for six months and then use it once or twice in a month, if you eat Indian food regularly the cost for spices per meal is very less.
@@ayanmukherjee8255 Very true. I don’t know of a place near me that sells all the various spices by weight. You do have to buy more than what you need for one or two recipes. Much more cost effective if those ingredients are incorporated into the majority of your meals. And the freshness aspect you point out is very important. Trying to use up all those spices before they grow stale is difficult if that’s not how you regularly cook. But I must admit if you want your dishes to really taste authentic and have that depth of flavor it’s worth buying the different spices.
Sorry, not early but not too late but still excited for this banger!
Is that the little market in Gaithersburg
Good one.
$15 in India we can make food for a week
Dude, with 20 bucks, I can make a week's worth of food in India lmao

Well you gotta sacrifice some areas to get free public Healthcare.
@vangyang17 yeah right. Broken health care system. With shortage of staff, shortage of medications and insane wait timed in hospital. I rather pay the private health system and by the way it's not free,we Canadians pay the highest tax in the world.

Amount of spices this chef has can make whole America look for water.

Any cuisine that uses more than 4 species/aromatics is going to be good if you know how to use them. This is way I'm grateful for the world's migration history.
When he said overnight I instantly thought "you lucky dog".
Ile make an exception with him using his spices just for the fact that he had 5$ left over
