I was confused at first between the last 2, then I remember, for the last one there's an additional phrase that usually comes with it: ha~ha~tak tau... 🤣
Hi Nobu-san! 🤗 I will explain to you the local slangs you just learnt. Hope this helps~ #NobuBoleh 💪🏽😆 1. Mantap 👍🏽✨ - Meaning = Amazing, great, awesome 2. Pishang 🍌 - Meaning = Boring, bored - From the word Pisang=banana - Origin = unknown 😂 from social media maybe 3. Eh series ah doh? 😲🤔 - Eh = an expression similar like japanese eh - Series = Serious - Ah = short form of 'Lah', usually used to express emphasis (usage depends on context and how strong the emphasis is) - Doh = short form of 'bodoh' = stupid, does not mean stupid in this context. Only used as an expression of emphasis to your friend. Very informal. - Meaning = "Eh, are you serious?" "Seriously?" "Are you for real?" "Maji de??" - Other way to say it (more simple and also common): series ah?? 4. Ape benda kau ni? 😂/😒/😓 - Ape = What - Benda = Thing - Kau = You - Ni = This - Meaning = "What is up with you?" "What are you doing?" BUT this phrase is not really used to ask what somebody else is doing. It is used to express being amused/confused/annoyed at what your friend is doing. Example: Friend is dancing and making funny faces - "Ape benda kau ni 🤣" Friend is disturbing you doing work - "Ape benda kau ni 😒" Friend is putting chocolate in noodle dish (weird combo) - "Ape benda kau ni??? 😦😲🤮" 5. Gerak lu pape roger 🏃🏽♀️💨🤙🏽 - Gerak = Move - Lu = Short form of Dulu = First, before - Pape = Short form of Apa-apa = anything - Roger = notify (contact, inform, tell) (origin: when ppl talk in walkie talkie and they say roger) So, meaning is = Move first, anything notify (literal) = I'll go first, anything, let me know = I'll be going now, if there's anything let me know (proper english)
it's really annoying when malays always say -lah is nothing and doesn't have any meaning. -lah is legit grammatically, and it is a particle at the end of a word that strengthen the meaning of the word. stop saying it's doesn't mean anything. without -lah, your words are less impactful.
@@Ruriko.Y That's why I said it is usually used as an emphasis but it doesn't really have a proper equivalent translation in other languages because it is unique to Malay (and other languages that share this word). The sentence "doesn't really mean anything" was not to say that it is redundant and does not have any grammatical value. It just doesn't have a proper translation and is used as an emphasis to the sentence. Hence, it is flexible and can be used differently depending on context. However, because you are annoyed and I see how people can misunderstand, I will rephrase it.
Almost all of the word that he gave you is just 'slangs' that the Kuala Lumpur people usually use. Even if you speak like formal Bahasa Melayu, everybody can understand it completely. So don't worry too much.

1. mantap: awesome 2. pishang: banana/ boring 3. series ah do (serius lah do): seriously? 4. apa benda kau ni?( apa benda awak ni?): what are you? 5. gerak lu pape roger (gerak dahulu pape roger) note: - gerak lu (gerak dulu): see ya - pape roger (???): I don't know why malaysian use this word... extra: - weh: hei/ hai/ hello (don't always use this verse) - rilek bro (relax bro) - korang: you don't always use this verse, okay~
Hi Nobu!! U did great!👏🏻 I want to explain more about “gerak lu pape roger” Gerak lu: Gerak: move in english/in this sentence, it is more to “go” Lu (shortform of dulu): first So if combine gerak lu/gerak dulu, it is: I go first/I have to go In formal Malay, people will use: saya gerak dulu (I go first). So gerak lu is a more casual way that native Malaysian use. … Pape roger: Pape is actually shortform from apa-apa. Apa-apa means any/anything. For Example; Awak ada apa-apa soalan?? Do you have any question? Roger is actually from English word😂 So pape roger is ‘anything, just tell me’. So that’s all Nobu. I hope u can understand more! Gerak lu, pape roger. Hahaha.
Collaboration yg MANTAP!! Nobu san!! Azrey kun!! Azrey is a very talented person ✨Saya suka tengok reaction Nobu and the way he solved the questions, very kawaiii and funny! I would say Azrey introducing informal slangs & sentences that only use specifically among youngsters, those not common informal we can use for everyone including elders.
The word "Pishang eh" is actually comes from a situation where you find free bananas given at every occasion, eventually its become boring because you find out where you go, they give free bananas. Thus, the word pishang eh were born..
Good attempts, but personally i think its a bit too early for you Nobu-san. Just stick with the formals one for a bit and the slangs will come eventually. Already miss Shun 😅 also, mantap Azrey 👌
hi nobu san. just want to tell you. for like native bahasa melayu, we said the sentence that end with "a" will sound like "e" for example saya=saye apa=ape suka=suke. but you can just say "a" if you don't know. it is just a slang and also for the pape, it's actually shortform from apa-apa. and also just to make sure that you know. if the sentence doens't end with "a" like awak, pesan, balang. dont change it even it sound like have an a

Friend is disturbing you doing work - "Ape benda kau ni 😒"

5. Gerak lu pape roger 🏃🏽♀️💨🤙🏽
- Gerak = Move
- Lu = Short form of Dulu = First, before
- Pape = Short form of Apa-apa = anything
- Roger = notify (contact, inform, tell) (origin: when ppl talk in walkie talkie and they say roger)
So, meaning is = Move first, anything notify (literal) = I'll go first, anything, let me know = I'll be going now, if there's anything let me know (proper english)
Rajin ek kau😂

malaysians like to shorten their sentences😂
i'll just say "mende" shorten form of "Apa mende kau ni"
tak rilek🤣🤣✋🏻
Almost all of the word that he gave you is just 'slangs' that the Kuala Lumpur people usually use.
Even if you speak like formal Bahasa Melayu, everybody can understand it completely. So don't worry too much.
"Eh" n "dok" i think its Johorean slang, anyway im from Kedah 😊🇲🇾👍

There 4 things that I surprised me the most

4. Nobu, he learns pretty fast. You are really a fast learner Nobu! You applied to what you've just learnt. Sugoi
The full sentences for the last quiz is.. Gerak dulu.. apa-apa roger..
You can also use "pishang" when you in trouble to like:
"Habis pishang kita macam mana ni"
"member da pishang" haha
Yup.. setuju. Bila letih, lemah, lemau dan malas pun kita boleh PiShang ...
Or comparing our Pishang with our friend's - Pishang aku lagi besar drp pishang ko dowh.
Pishang aku mat
1. mantap = いいね
2. pisang eh~ = たいくつな〜
3. apa bende kau ni ?!= えっ、どういうこと?! OR えっ、何の話??
4. series ah dok/ doh?= え〜、まじで?
5. gerak lu/dulu pape/apa-apa roger =またね。Later, If there's anything else, just let me know.
Gerak is like.. "move" and Lu is shorten version of "dulu= first", so gerak lu is a lot like "I'll move first/ I'm gonna go now" :)
1. mantap: awesome
2. pishang: banana/ boring
3. series ah do (serius lah do): seriously?
4. apa benda kau ni?( apa benda awak ni?): what are you?
5. gerak lu pape roger (gerak dahulu pape roger)
note:
- gerak lu (gerak dulu): see ya
- pape roger (???): I don't know why malaysian use this word...
extra:
- weh: hei/ hai/ hello (don't always use this verse)
- rilek bro (relax bro)
- korang: you
don't always use this verse, okay~
@@okay3994 yeaaa thats right

great collaboration ... You collaborate with others after this Nobu!😍
Hi Nobu!! U did great!👏🏻 I want to explain more about “gerak lu pape roger”
Gerak lu:
Gerak: move in english/in this sentence, it is more to “go”
Lu (shortform of dulu): first
So if combine gerak lu/gerak dulu, it is: I go first/I have to go
In formal Malay, people will use: saya gerak dulu (I go first). So gerak lu is a more casual way that native Malaysian use.
…
Pape roger:
Pape is actually shortform from apa-apa. Apa-apa means any/anything. For Example;
Awak ada apa-apa soalan??
Do you have any question?
Roger is actually from English word😂 So pape roger is ‘anything, just tell me’.
So that’s all Nobu. I hope u can understand more! Gerak lu, pape roger. Hahaha.
You're right you
Terlalu local tu bahasa zaman nih
