Brilliant...unfortunately it doesn't work that way in Blender 3.4.1! But if you set the Rotate Euler to Axis Angel and Object it works for me! Instead of the Empty, I use the Color Ramp as an animation, setting the position of the black gripper to zero and 1 and also animating the color black on white, so the size of the flower remains the same! Hello, this has been a very nice piece of work. I have a point where I'm stuck. When I move my empty object forward, I don't want the plants in the background to be hidden. In other words, I want the plants in the background to always be visible in the scene. How can I do this? I would appreciate your help.
Great tutorial! Got everything going good but I have a question. Hos could I use geometry nodes to make the flower stay but still grow in area. Like a plain or field that is expanding. How could I achieve that?
Really nice tutorial! Got this to work on my first try. I was wondering could it be possible that the plants only wiggle as they grow and ease into being still once they have grown fully? So that it looks like they are wiggling their way up. I tried to animate the parameters of the plant's geonodes but they don't seam to affect the instances created by the Empty...
Everything was working as intended but as soon as I got to the empty part, I'm at a stand still. I've set up the object info-distance-map range-color ramp into the scale of the instance on points node but when I move the empty around, nothing happens to the flowers. I'm at the 'rotate' section (2:40 min mark) and my plant isn't moving like that? It's just distorting the surface, the plant isn't moving as a whole. I need the plant to sway? When I increase the scale on the noise node, it just speeds up and gets more chaotic looking. The plant stays still
hmm, not 100% sure but it sounds like either the map range values need to be inverted or just try to play around with them and see if it appears, if not then try ctrl+A on the empty to apply the scale (also make sure the object info node/ the empty is set to relative and not original)
@@cheuqs Interesting, now that I look at the project, I think youre right about applying the scale...I did this for everything else but the empty. Thanks dude.

You could try some tutorials for dynamic paint to a vertex group, Im not too familiar with dynamic paint but i think that would work, another option would be to just use a object instead of empty and use geometry proximity node like in my knitting tutorial, this would let you just scale the control object/empty so it would grow and stay after being grown but would need a bit of tweaking on the map ranges
Okay now I'm at 5:52, and the flowers are HUGE, stretched, clumping together and not at all attached to the object they're supposed to be joined to?? Anyone else having this happen?
Trying to simulate this but instead of a tree bark, on text...I want the text to be formed out of vines and have this effect with some flowers and plants coming out of certain points for a logo...any other tutorials you might recommend on making animated vines as well to add this to?
vines are a bit tricky, ive been testing a bunch of methods and the 1 problem face is the branches move too much or grow with the plant (not realistic) but if you aren't going for realism you could just use a bezier curve and instance your text on the first curve (curve to points) then displace points on faces for the flowers, might be issues with flickering though
hey, when I plug the collection info in the instance on points nodes it turns to be millions of extremely way to big flowers that crashed my computer on top of the log :/ I also that your density on the log is at 10000 but mine is at 0.05 or else it crashes and I already have thousands of small points and not a few like you. Pleeeease help !!
Yeah like @auxvisuals7967 said, Id try to change the density value or maybe try to apply the scale of the log. One last thing that might or might not work would be to scale the log down by 1/10th then apply scale and scale back up without applying the scale (might not work though)
@@cheuqs I used the same nodes as you and but I'll try and do that! It's just that the flowers have their green still left but the petals are white, the plant thing is completely white and the log has its details but is mostly white but not completely. It's also only in the render and rendered view that they look like that.
The scene time node only uses the amount of frames to auto animate a value, if you don't have it in your version you can just press "i" on the multiply value and keyframe it to animate it manually
it may be a hardware issue, making it I didn't run into any problems other than if the mesh for the plants were too dense then it may lag and cause it to crash, you could try using the decimate modifier to reduce the polys for the plant mesh
after making the proximity node connections, i tried to move my empty to see the scaling of the flowers, but nothing is scaling or moving. how to fix that?
It might be the object node you have (the empty) just make sure that its set to relative, that will translate any edits to node itself, other than that you could try applying the scale to the branch or try and change around the map range values a bit
For me the plants are way to small....as i forgot to apply the Transforms and the model was huge.....can I fix this afterwards? Im already at the 8:00 minute mark
