I've started putting cardboard around the inside of my lined beds, found the cardboard gets pulled down and not the plastic.
@michaelwilkins9416 that's something to think about and you can see how that works. Many thanks Michael.
You're going to have some happy plants next year Terry.
I was watching a soil scientist talking about raised beds the other day and he was quite anti putting plastic on the inside of the beds. Said it made them rot faster. He's also not impressed with compost teas, he said you'd do more good throwing the comfrey in the compost.... I don't know what to think now 😂 ... Jim

I'm impressed with your space management, Terry. I would have a hard time getting around those corners on my scooter, but those raised beds are the perfect height for me. You could also bury the waste wool to add volume and nutrients for at least one season. Some of the wool probably brings along its own manure 😉
~ Sandra
@NanasWorms I will try burying the last bits of wool instead of manure, thank you.
Is that celery on the bottom of your inside tomatoes? Wow check the green on those. Looking amazing as usual. Wish I had a disreputable illicit potting mix supply. They must be growing it here, wonder what they do with it.

Did you know mens urine helps to break down compost heaps, it was used in Victorian times by the staff at the manors. An old Italian man told me about 12 years ago that if you add a tablespoon of milk powder to the hole when you plant tomatoes it helps later on in the season to ripen fruit. It does too. Spring here in NZ.
Yes we do use milk on our Tom's. Hawkes bay
@rhondafarmer4824 will givethat a go my friend's and I keep my pee bucket handy for the compost bin, worms hate me for that........🤦🪱🤣

Hello. What days will you be at Malvern?
@debbienash4175 not sure that I will be going Debbie, will find out tomorrow when the operation is going ahead. If I do go it will be Saturday and Sunday, if you want to say hello I will send you my phone number.
@terrykingsallotmentgardening we'll be there on the Saturday. If you're able (fingers crossed that the much more important things go well first!), I would really like to meet in person.... I have some long root seeds for you for next year 😀
