Just saw Blondie last week in Detroit, what an amazing show they put on. At 76 years of age, Debbie is still awesome. Can't say enough good things about the performance.
What a great song, I hope everyone that are listening to it are doing no bad thing like going to a grandma house with a fake identity and slipping away from his lawyer days :)
I have no idea what you mean by that and I'm very surprised how many people liked your comment but nobody made a comment on their own. I can't be the first one baffled
Many may not have known this but even though he had made a lot of reggae hit covers of other artistes songs, John Holt had composed this one and had recorded it with the band "The Paragons" in the 60s, but it wasn't even heard of till Blondie made a hit cover of it. I'm still glad that they put in some reggae feel to their version. Not bad for a Pop/Rock band! We out in the Caribbean have good talent too, just wish we would get the credit we deserved. (sigh)... Rest In Peace John Holt, you shall be remembered.....
@@grantkruse1812 as far as I'm concerned Beatles played pop rock/rock n roll and nothing else. Blondie played rock, rap, reagge, disco, pop and probably more

Well they didn't make it if that's what you mean, it's a cover of the group "the paragons" from the 60's! I like both versions though and Blondie probably made it more famous

The Queen of Cool. When Debbie first appeared the scene in 1978 the whole world fell in love with her. We all loved her singing of course, but we we all taken aback by how damn COOL she was!!! And guess what? She's still cool as hell. Who could possibly be cooler than Debbie Harry?
Well done Blondie. Am a journalist in Papua New Guinea. Every time I visit the You Tube I must play your song: When the tide is high. Its a beautiful song!
ta chanson est sublime, la tonalité de ta voix est parfaite sur ce morceau, et elle si douce, mélancolique mais si porteuse d'espoir.. Je te redécouvre chaque jour et ce que je découvre est incroyable !

It's the first song I ever liked. I never cared about music before that day... I was in the back seat of my Dads Potiac cruisliner 1980.. I was 8 years old. I told my Dad to turn it up and I started bobbing my head slowly to the beat side to side. I thought she was singing to me because it was the first time I was listening to the words... I remember what I was thinking like it was yesterday.
