Secondly thorium reactors are much safer options for nuclear energy. There is less radioactive waste and it stays active for a shorter period, operation can take place at much less pressure and the process can be stopped instantaneously unlike uranium reactors. This would have drastically changed the outcome of what happened in Fukushima. If India can make itself a leader in building an maintaining thorium based reactors, we could build them for the world. As a Chinese, I have lots of indian friends. My observation is that most Indian are very smart and hardworking. However, when they are teaming together, everyone has a very big ego and the team sometimes falls apart. Individually speaking, Indians are of great potential of success. But when put into a group, sometimes things are not working out because of everyone has big ego. Indians definately have great potential since each indicidual are great, but a lot of times, they need to put away their big ego since teamwork is what really matters.

Taking 6 years to buy a land is a bit exaggeration. Yeah ease of doing business in India is still low. But it has gotten somewhat better. Recently many companies that moved from China to India got land in no time.

I just thought yesterday that India is the crucial country in the battle to save freedom. If the US can help to build up India along with Brazil and even Russia as we work to save our own democracy and freedom (I’m American) and strengthen ties with all of them, we will essentially prevent China from taking over.

We had been working to seperate influence of China over Russia, but western countries especially Europeans and NATO started their campaign in the form of Ukraine-Russia conflict which is still ongoing. This has given China edge over Indian influence over Russia. Still, we are trying to drift Russia's interests away from China but as long as this conflict is ongoing, China is being benefited from it. Fact: Russia is a military superpower, while China is an economic superpower.

This is one the most insightful interviews you've done yet! This was very interesting too listen to. India is going to be a big player in global economics and politics (if not already). They have the best engineering school (IIT) in the world beating MIT, a space program that's accelerated at such a substantial rate and it's annual GDP is consistently growing at all time highs. The only thing holding India back is ironically India itself, like Mr. Swamy said, there's too much bureaucracy and policies in places which stop Indians from doing what they need to do thus things become to slow, Swamy seems like a pragmatic and proactive guy where he just wants to get things done but its difficult in the current political climate that India is in right now, they need to restructure internally to grow externally. I love how he has genuine respect for America and takes from our problem solving approach to things, there's a lot we can also learn from India too. I expect good things to come from these super powers, India will act more like a neutralizer or the alternative to America's current dominance and China's aggression, they are creating their own bubble which would (IMO) help deliberate matters much more smoothly. Either way, the grand stage needs more competitors, not just one ruling thumb, otherwise we risk creating bullies that just get their way.

The same applied to Asia where Japan was the first, then followed by Korea then China and next is Vietnam. India don’t follow them because its too distinct from this 2 civilization and culture group to develop the same way at them. They will have to find a new way to industrialization or will continue remain the backwaters of the world. The strongest nations in the next 50 years will probably be US, France+Germany, China, Russia, Turkey. India either have to industrialize quick or it will become a Chinese puppet state in a China dominated Asia, like Mexico to the US.

I'm on the fence about his push for Nuclear power stations. One side is they don't take up much land but generate tons of steam power. The other side is It takes only one meltdown to cause decades of fallout.
@@RoodeMenon Subramanian Swamy mentioned the need to develop thorium based nuclear reactors. For one thing India is sitting on 40% of the worlds thorium deposits. Secondly thorium reactors are much safer options for nuclear energy. There is less radioactive waste and it stays active for a shorter period, operation can take place at much less pressure and the process can be stopped instantaneously unlike uranium reactors. This would have drastically changed the outcome of what happened in Fukushima.
If India can make itself a leader in building an maintaining thorium based reactors, we could build them for the world. Another benefit is that thorium reactors don’t produce plutonium as a byproduct which is needed for nuclear weapons.

As a Chinese, I have lots of indian friends. My observation is that most Indian are very smart and hardworking. However, when they are teaming together, everyone has a very big ego and the team sometimes falls apart.
Individually speaking, Indians are of great potential of success. But when put into a group, sometimes things are not working out because of everyone has big ego.

Taking 6 years to buy a land is a bit exaggeration. Yeah ease of doing business in India is still low. But it has gotten somewhat better. Recently many companies that moved from China to India got land in no time.

I just thought yesterday that India is the crucial country in the battle to save freedom.
If the US can help to build up India along with Brazil and even Russia as we work to save our own democracy and freedom (I’m American) and strengthen ties with all of them, we will essentially prevent China from taking over.
India can't even feed itself with most people living in absolute poverty.
We should not involve them in our military attempts to contain China.
It will just cause more suffering for the poor in India. And we've done more than enough damage with our meddling in the 3rd world already.

We had been working to seperate influence of China over Russia, but western countries especially Europeans and NATO started their campaign in the form of Ukraine-Russia conflict which is still ongoing. This has given China edge over Indian influence over Russia.
Still, we are trying to drift Russia's interests away from China but as long as this conflict is ongoing, China is being benefited from it.
Fact: Russia is a military superpower, while China is an economic superpower.

This is one the most insightful interviews you've done yet! This was very interesting too listen to. India is going to be a big player in global economics and politics (if not already). They have the best engineering school (IIT) in the world beating MIT, a space program that's accelerated at such a substantial rate and it's annual GDP is consistently growing at all time highs. The only thing holding India back is ironically India itself, like Mr. Swamy said, there's too much bureaucracy and policies in places which stop Indians from doing what they need to do thus things become to slow, Swamy seems like a pragmatic and proactive guy where he just wants to get things done but its difficult in the current political climate that India is in right now, they need to restructure internally to grow externally.
I love how he has genuine respect for America and takes from our problem solving approach to things, there's a lot we can also learn from India too. I expect good things to come from these super powers, India will act more like a neutralizer or the alternative to America's current dominance and China's aggression, they are creating their own bubble which would (IMO) help deliberate matters much more smoothly. Either way, the grand stage needs more competitors, not just one ruling thumb, otherwise we risk creating bullies that just get their way.
India has Brilliant minds due to natural selection of 1.3 bil..but its economy unlikely to catch up soon. It has a naturally screwed country. In fact Africa collectively will grow faster than India. ASEAN already wealthier than India. Politics and policy can never catch up.
A country level of industrialization is determined by its proximity and assimilation to the first country the industrialized in the region. For Europeans countries, Britain was the first to industrialized, so other European countries’ level of development is determined by how close it is to Britain, the closer the higher the development. France, Germany>Spain, Italy> Hungary, Poland, Russia. America and Australia was Britain colony and share British culture and value. The same applied to Asia where Japan was the first, then followed by Korea then China and next is Vietnam. India don’t follow them because its too distinct from this 2 civilization and culture group to develop the same way at them. They will have to find a new way to industrialization or will continue remain the backwaters of the world. The strongest nations in the next 50 years will probably be US, France+Germany, China, Russia, Turkey. India either have to industrialize quick or it will become a Chinese puppet state in a China dominated Asia, like Mexico to the US.
This interview gave us more insight into Swamy's thought process than any Indian medias ever did...

Imo, India needs a systemic change. The territorial provincial&local leaders need to be paid on the basis of a percentage of GNP of their area territory or province etc. They need a vested interest in the financial success of their area rather than a vested interest in systems that impede financial success.

Your interview with Dr Subramaniam Swamy ( who I have also listened to often on You Tube) was excellent. I was born raised & educated in India in an Anglophone milieu & environment & hence my mother tongue was and is English. In India. I graduated in Electrical Engineering from Poona India in 1957 & then worked in Public Sector & Siemens India all over India based in Bombay but worked in most of the Indian States in Bengal/ Bihar/ Orissa & Assam in Eastern India for Industrial Projects while in Siemens India - so I agree 100% with what Dr Swamy says about Indias potential- I know that since I interacted with my Indian colleagues of all religions & faiths Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Parsees & Christian/Catholics- of which I am a staunch one from Goa- as my name suggests.
