Welcome ❤️🙏 Yes, you can connect 2 different equipments in port 3/4 simultaneously as input two ports are given in same channel. But you will not be able to adjust volume separately as you have connected equipments in the same bus. & You can either use it as port 3 or port 4.

Probably They don't know how to use an audio mixer. It's a budget mixer yet quality is really good. Check my singing youtube channel (link in description) I have posted some songs from this mixer.
It depends on your mic. & What cables you are using. How you keep interference out. How you set your gain with proper equipments. If you can't manage the noise properly, every equipment will feel worst to you.
