Fantastic job. Love the step by step process. The shell casings make the project very cool. Overall it turned out amazing and your price is being nice for the amount of work and materials you put into it. Also...love that camphor. Just beautiful stuff!
The kind of table which my dad would have loved to receive too if he had got one made for Christmas from the rest of us using some extra purchased empty bullet casings purchased by us instead.
I have done laminated gun stocks and polish just the same, you are taking it to a great level, no doubt Only thing i would have done different here was put bullet heads back into cases so they looked loaded
Very nice job! I wold like to share a tip with you. When I do tables w/ an epoxi river. After sanding to the highest sandpaper, I spray poliuretan coat. Just like painting a car.
You did a great job.. I was hoping to see a cheat on how to attach the legs when you have to on the epoxy.. but that's ok. I'm glad you gave the tip to wet sand I've seen videos that don't but I like the clearer look. Great job
Thanks for the detailed explanation of steps. Question about the buffing pads. When you move to the 2nd and 3rd buffing compounds, do you switch to a clean pad or stay with the same one?
number 1 the table looks awesome. 2..... i notice that when polishing vehicles people use compressed air to blow the pads out with all the paint that gets trapped in them every few passes. Not sure how much actually comes up when you polish the clear epoxy like this but thought I would share
Not on this table. I was already running thin on the bottom of the table. I should have poured my color layer deeper and closer to 1/2” deep. When I flattened the bottom I took off a little over 1/8” and if I had gone another pass I would have lost my color layer. All lessons learned. If I did have a thicker table to work with I would have considered embedding the legs. Thanks
Just a thought... Although shell casings in your tables and charcuterie boards are interesting, they only appeal to a specific demographic. You might try something more universal to increase your sales. If properly marketed, flowers or stones or even coins would reach a much larger audience and could potentially blow your business up to the point where your custom pieces would demand more money and you could take it to the next level. You have a child on the way. It could not hurt to think in terms of expanding your business. :)
Thank you so very much for watching and commenting. You are very thoughtful checking in on Zoe. She is having a great pregnancy and is due soon in September. 🥰 I am so excited to be grandma for them on their first born! ua-cam.com/channels/GPdszi-nLMC3Y8pcNpycVA.html
1) When using the polishing compound, are you very careful to keep it off the wood? 2) Also, do you change the blue pad out between the different polishing compounds? I would think a fresh pad would be the most cautious approach.
Would like to see you do one of these tables but instead of using the oil as the final finish do a flow coat of epoxy on the whole table, this gives in my opinion an easy clean up surface for drink spills or sweating drinks that might otherwise leave a ring on the surface. I feel their much more durable but i just like shiney stuff.
Hey guys. Yall do beautiful work. I am trying to do a table myself. I'm at the finishing stage but I can still see my sanding marks. Do yall go straight from sanding to your finish or do you polish your epoxy with a buffer and polish and then put on a finish. Please help
you guys use super clear and ICE epoxy - is one better than the other? Ive used one of them )not saying which) and it forms halos and hot coffee rings so im looking in to the other one thanks :)
I think I missed the window to lay the top clear coat down. The base is more spongy than tacky..am I still good to go or should I wait now until it completely hardens?
Table turned out awesome. Only thing I'm disappointed in is when you placed and glued the casing in the expoy. I understand why you did that but with all that leftover dead space it took away the "natural" look. But still turned out cool.
I seen a video from James Freeman, he's a guy who drives around trying to incite the police so he can make videos of it. Anyways he has one in Turtle Creek Wisconsin and he uses this lovely young ladies image as a thumbnail. A little despicable if you ask me.
Just… I don’t want to be negative, but when people start throwing out money amounts like “$5,000 walnut table” it gets under my skin a bit. Idk if this is normal, maybe I’m just weird.
You don't want to be negative? Or you intentionally want to be negative without receiving any backlash? Yeah, $5000 would change my life immensely and it often disgusts me the things people waste it on. I would say let them have their thing and what is there to gain even saying anything?
You could waste $5k on a walnut table to if you're willing to sacrifice to gain the skills necessary to make the money necessary to obtain these types of objects. EVERYONE has that capability in America.
I’m pretty sure I call them bullet casings. 7 years as a law enforcement officer and 4 years on SWAT, I know the difference between bullet casings and bullets.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for the detailed information!
Thank you Robin!
that is gorgeous, it wasa show of ttalent and patience KUDOS to you and your shop !!!!!!
Thanks Calvin!
Do Not reply to those scammers I blocked them
this table turned out to be awesome
Thank you Timothy!!
That is a beautiful table . It almost makes me want to change my mind about coffee tables.
Thank you very much!
Another fabulous 'voice-over' video - and a fantastic table - well done! 😎
Thank you Andrew
Absolutely beautiful, you are so clever, love how you explain everything you do, great job Trey, thank you for posting, take care.👍💙
Nice job it turned out really good
I like the voiceover videos. Very easy to learn and understand
Thanks
Looks great
Looking good! 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you so much! The camphor is so cool looking! Can’t wait to make more slabs!
Very beautiful great job
Nice job very pretty table
Thank you Robb
I like the casings but being wood and being cut with chain saw I think a old used saw chains in the epoxy might be cool looking just a thought
Great job. To me that looks like, without the bullet casings, planet earth millions of years ago before any living thing roamed the planet
Very cool!!
Absolutely awesome
Wow, simply put stunning! This coffee table is a 10/10! Btw, here's an idea...do something music related.
Great idea thank you!
🔥🔥🔥 great job, the table is mint
Incredibly beautiful table, I could imagine such a table, too bad I live so far away from your shop, I live in Norway. Greetings from Norway 🙂

Great suggestion! I am going to try that soon! Everything I’ve done is with empty casings but I need to try the live round look
@@TripleLRusticDesigns Just make sure you have something inside the cases or they will want to float to the top.
@@harpintn thanks. We always CA glue them down to prevent them from moving
Nice piece. Wow.
Would love to see a knotty pine kitchen table 8 foot long. One for the country cottage. 👌✌

Looks awesome 👌. Beautiful

This was cool to watch. Idea for next time is to polish the ammo 😃 would really pop
Trey you are a beast!
Thanks brother!!
Between steps on the polishing it helps considerably to blow out the pads after each application because microscopically it's building up on your pad.
number 1 the table looks awesome. 2..... i notice that when polishing vehicles people use compressed air to blow the pads out with all the paint that gets trapped in them every few passes. Not sure how much actually comes up when you polish the clear epoxy like this but thought I would share
That’s a great point. I need to try blowing the pad out between passes and see if it gives more clarity. Thank you!
Love the final look of the table. Did you consider inserting the legs into wood for added strength?
Not on this table. I was already running thin on the bottom of the table. I should have poured my color layer deeper and closer to 1/2” deep. Yes we will be making more of these. You’re welcome to send me an email to discuss pricing. Trey@TLRDS.com
Excellent video!

Have you tried any of the Meguiar's Mirror Glaze line of polishing products, I have had good results with all of them.
I have. That’s what I used to use on every polish project. I switched to the 3m recently
Cool, first time on your channel. I like what I'm seeing. Looking for some home furnishings that are different.

Random orbital polisher to prevent swirls and over heating. Ceramic polish to finish.
I want one
You’re in luck, this one is for sale lol

Can a slab get to thick for the epoxy? I’m wanting to do a 4” thick slab 15’ long. For a island counter top.
What was your end thickness? Very nice
End thickness was 1.5” thanks!

That would work too but the pressure pot works as well
you said she was 8 months pregnant in this video. It is now over a month later...Has she had the baby yet? we are all waiting to see!
