- IndianRaga was in Chennai during the 2014 December Music Season, where 2013 IndianRaga Fellows Kruthi Bhat and Akshay Anantapadmanabhan came together with the very talented M Vijay, Harihara Subramanian and Sai Subramaniam to produce a stellar album.
This third piece in the album is a Thillana in Sindhubhairavi Ragam, composed by Lalgudi Jayaraman. #Lalgudi90

This rendition of Sri Lalgudi Maama's Thillana is probably the best presentation so far. Many stalwarts have sung this and even played on various instruments, but, Kruthi Bhat's rendition is filled with Bhaava, clarity & a very melodious mixture. It is matchless for sure.
Having listened to a number singers singing this thillana including the amazing Bombay Jayshree, this rendition by Kruthi is the best for anyone who wants to learn this thillana. Great clarity and really beautifully sung.

I was trying to learn this thillana by myself and came across this. The clarity and soulful expressions enticed me. It was so easy to notate the underlying swaras by listening to this crystal clear rendition. The use of prathimadhyamam is amazing and just the right amount to give that distinct emotion. Kudos!!!

Crystal clear voice. But since everyone has already written a lot of positive feedback, I'm hoping I can give some constructive feedback. Her voice potential is only used about 40%. if more weight is added this would have transformed into something exemplary. The notes were loosely handled ..I know Sindhu Bhairavi is a lilting raga, but i don't think this rendition did enough justice to the composition or the raga. I've heard kruthi before and she is definitely one of the next stars in the making.
