The yearning for hometown is a big genre in Japanese arts: "furusato". John Denver got it so well for WV, that everyone feels it! Like "saudade" in Portuguese.
I taught ESL in South Korea, in one of my first classes there was a little 6-year-old girl who could not speak a word of English but could sing this song perfectly with no accent.
I wish that I could give more than one Like. Japan has a real Treasure with Nishida. The Girls were also fantastic and kudo's to their Choreographer as well.

By all means check out other songs sung by her, you won't be disappointed.

She grew up in LA until age of 13 and move back to japan and attended American School In Japan until she graduated...Even though english is not my 1st language, i hear her accent and english is very good😅
