So proud of my 90 year old uncle who was one of the first of David Stirling's SAS men. He attended a ceremony recently at the monument and appeared on the TV programme about the SAS. His stories are amazing, told with quiet dignity and nonchalance as if he'd just popped out for a paper!!!
The father of the modern American SF: Charles "Charging Charley" Beckwith was inspired to conceive Delta Force, after serving as an Army liaison officer with the SAS. WHO DARES WINS
We are playing this at my Dads funeral he was in the SAS in Malaya they where called The Malayan Scouts his commander was Coronal Calvitt my Dad had the highest regard for as he fought with his troup in the jungle

Une pensee pour les 10 potes mort pour la patrie au Rwanda en 94, qu'ils reposent en paix, car eux etaient des braves. Merci les gars, pour tout et a tout jamais.
Translation; A thought for the 10 friends who died for the homeland in Rwanda in 94, may they rest in peace, because they were brave. Thank you guys, for everything and forever.
I'm an American through and through but I have an immense respect for the Brits, especially their military. I've also got British ancestry, which I'm proud to have!
The Duffpig Not really.. some have french ancestry, or Spanish, or german. Back when there were constant strifes and wars in Europe, the new world was a popular place for refugees to escape wars or persecution. Not to mention the lands acquired from Mexico like California.
I had a model of a SAS truck when I was a kid. It was painted flat pink, for desert fighting. This kind of truck would go out at Sun set hours, when the Sahara would have a pinkish hue.
Such a fantastic piece of music, I could listen to this on repeat till the end of my days quite easily. Say what you will about them Belgies, they know how to make a bloody good march.
The good marches musical Brass Band of the year since before and after 18th Century.. Really Patriotic ! Congratulation to the British and Japanese Government for preparing us this Patrotic Songs and Music.. Thank You very much..!
+BennyNug15 it not like the American where any fat sod can join you need to have served in the army ( the navy can join the S.B.S and the air force does not have any spec ops attached to it
On the contrary, mate. Im allowed to say what I want before signing any contract. And even when I do sign the contract, take a look at my profile and see how much accurate information there is there. Run an IP trace too if you want. You have a lot of aggression and anger for someone who is excited for their achievement so far. Wonder why...
Non Human? certainly apart. Having missed a great deal of my daughters life, well it is sad, but many people have done the same and little good came from what they missed it for. There is a real sense of having made a difference for us. Having been married for 43 years and now over 60 of course I have regrets, but I would do it all again, without respect for all and deference to those worse off it would't have been worth it. Real dedication is a mother who must tend adisabled child.thatsv a HERO
Oh, thank you, I'm still laughing! You've put me in mind of a Trooping at Horse Guards, late in a moonless night, everyone in the "D" section shot immediately after. Great stuff.
What a wonderful compliment.of or armed forces We are, quite rightly, the envy of the world Thank goodness they're on or side God bless every single one of them !!
@8corporal Great to hear about your uncle too, bless him. That generation were and still are amazing. I don't know if my my uncle has been to Hereford but he has been to reunions somewhere several times. He is still pretty pally with one guy who lives in Portsmouth and was going down there regularly but is now getting a bit frail. Respect to you too for serving our country in the RAF. Is so nice to exchange messages with someone on YT who is so well mannered. Cheers :)
22SAS , part of UK SF, seems not to be on the list of regular army units, it is now part of the ministry of defence. The part-time units, reserves, 21 and 23 are on the regular list, very strange. 21st SAS (Artists Rifles) (V) was not even quite so 'secret squirrel' in late 70s early 80s when it was part of the corps patrol unit of 1(BR) Corps in Germany.
Roger Hudson served in 1Para 14 years then we were sfsg awesome times especially in siera leone good times thought i knew it all till i met my Big Brothers . Respects Gents Utrinque Paratus

@8corporal You certainly did serve your country in the RAF by simply being willing to join the forces in the first place. Credit given where it's due. Yes, uncle loves the odd half pint and large malts!! All the best for future and enjoy your time with your family hero in Cuba :)
There are lots of comments praising the SAS and SBS but many people neglect the essential role of the Special Forces Support Group who go on many of the same missions shoulder to shoulder with the SAS and SBS.
Every regiment does! From the Milanollo (Life Guards) all the way to the Quick March of the Blues and Royals, and Fare Thee Well Inniskilling (Dragoon Guards).
@LordWellington15 The SAS may technically be a Regiment within the British Army, but in it's own right it is another 'Army'. So 'different' to the rest of the British Army, in all sorts of aspects, as to be another army.
@TheTwollocks Wrong I am scottish and yes i am a catholic but why should that matter. I am just saying that Sir Archibald David Stirling who was scottish created SAS and should be remembered for it.
@8corporal Thank you so much, our family think the world of him. He may be 90 but still thinks he can take on the world LOL! Should have heard him about the £900 book that was going to "only" be £300 to veterans!!
Technically if you think about it the SBS are even more elite due to the fact they do the exact same training as the SAS just with advanced sea assault.
claim to fame : my wing got moved to a different camp because the SBS wanted it. ie. we got kicked out by the SBS!! :D plus on exercise we saw them jumping out of Westland commando helicopters in STANTA.

Anybody remember Blair (Paddy) Mayne? One of the founding members of the SAS.
The best quick march ever written, my dear friend Alf Collier was a Major in the Regiment, The Buffs, 22 SAS, and 21 SAS. Never forgotten Alf.

Commander Stirling Sir, i believe our rendezvous ip address is back at Tobruk and Benghazi again Sir
I tilt my cap to the SAS.
Metaphorically you ass.
Ok I thought you were being over literal. Sorry
Good
If it was a joke, it was a very bad one.
United States of America He's just sore because they lost.
Who will win:
Tanks, built for strength and can take lots of damage.
One parachute boi.
The tanks might survive but they would have no fuel or ammo thanks the sas.
Or one 17 pounder boi
Such a fantastic piece of music, I could listen to this on repeat till the end of my days quite easily.

Qui audet, vincit.
Belgian SAS and Para-Commado's march written by Leemans. The Brittish got the honor of using it too
Pierre Leemans did a good job catching the spirit of the Belgian Para’s. The word “cocky” comes to mind when hearing the march.
My dad was long distance sniper with the Australian special air service regiment in Swanbourne perth Australia
Imagine having this cap badge. Fucking legendary mate
Ah que de souvenirs Dan un ancien béret vert de l ATK de Flawinne

We're meant to be surrounded by enemy.
This is a song of true heroes giving their all for people they don't know
Beginning my selection course for the SASR very soon. Very excited.
Rob Nie Really? So how did you get to do that?
Head down, arse up - keep marching. -;)
Good luck. 21 or 23?
Lol he's a fake obvsiously
Godspeed you fellows. A fitting tribute to our best.
And the SAS use this Marche as a tribute to the Belgian Parachutist ;)
Pope Cromwell and so says bishop Thomas CrAnmer

That should be "the quick march of the SAS", the slow march being to the tune of Lile Marlene by Shultze.
My dad was a long distance sniper with Australian special air service regiment based in perth Swanbourne and he was a Sargent
They are called marksmen.... no matter the distance...not snipers! I would think he should have taught you that!
Oh, thank you, I'm still laughing! You've put me in mind of a Trooping at Horse Guards, late in a moonless night, everyone in the "D" section shot immediately after. Great stuff.
The Scottish created the finest fighting force in the world
My.dad was a Australian special forces sas long distance sniper at Campbell barracks Swanbourne perth Australia
This tune is very catchy and inspiring of bravery. Sums up what the SAS stands for.

Kind of them to honor us with adopting the March writing by a Belgian for the Belgian paratroopers.
2:02 fills me with pride and confidence! :D
Brilliant 🇬🇧👍.
This is the Quick March of the SAS but they also have a slow march and it is “lili Marlene “ brillant😊.
R stands for Reserve. He was in the Special Forces Reserve. That doesn`t mean I don`t give him the credits. :)

Who Cares Wins, Uncle. I'm sorry I didn't keep contact nearly as often as I should have. I love you.
Trooping the colour is only for Guards
@deepthought90 Artists' come under the SAS as 21st Regt. So how can it be above the remainder of the SAS in a hierarchical pyramid?
@left4james The SAS is not an army, it is a Regiment withing the British Military.
unconventional, a little french and - beautifu!😁

I would love them in my legion
I didn't like this at first... but now I do.
probably price and soup should sing this song at some point
my fault, they should play it
Technically if you think about it the SBS are even more elite due to the fact they do the exact same training as the SAS just with advanced sea assault.
A lot of those who go into the SAS were in the Marines before hand so many of them also happen to have sea training anyway.
Airborne for life

The SAS don't have a march, they use their regiments march ( regiment of the British army ) as that's what the SAS officially comes under.
The SAS regiment is a regiment in its own right
SAS my favorite unit in the world
Just wondering, does the SAS Regiment troop it's colours? I imagine not.
