Nice work with painting of the trains. I agree about Elmer’s. Please keep in mind it is water based so if you need to pull up track just use warm water.
Yet another reason why NOT to glue your track down.. I just use small nails I bought from the hardware they will allow some movement (especially for heat and cold movement of the track or base boards) and make it much easier when making any changes to the track layout in the future. I also will not use foam like most others do under my tracks or cork roadbed. I just use a type of foam underlay which is about 2mm thick and will be what I lay my tracks on.
