The simulated wood strip up on the passenger side dash adds a little light to an otherwise dark front. A very nice touch.

Chabby, thank you for your answer on the Tundra video where I mentioned some of their mechanical problems. I should have realized that you would have information on the problems. I do not blame you at all for following the steps you use on each vehicle. I enjoy your coverage layout. Please accept my most sincere apologies. I did not mean to insult you in any way.

In Canada the CR-V is overpriced, I test drive it twice where I felt the steering is heavy and firm suspension.
For the Gas version I’d go forester over CR-V & RAV4.

I bought a premium. I’d only like the bigger wheels and chrome exhaust tip on my premium. I’m cheap wasn’t worth spending $2800 more without the Harman Kardon $35,000 was enough.

I agree. 35k is enough! Enjoy it. Thanks for tuning in.

Wild how the prices just keep on slipping upwards while pay rates remain relatively the same across the board. At first, I wasn't a fan of the Ford and Toyota-esque styling. In person, it actually isn't so bad. Also, I wish they would give it a little bit more juice, finally. Or how about the turbo model??? It is ok, but only, and just on the edge of being a decent passing car in those situations where you need to stomp on the pedal. Still a bit slow with the mojo. I did hear that the steering rack is better, sourced from a WRX, so it turns much better. How did you feel about the look compared to the older one? It seems a bit more generic now.

I agree with you. A bit more generic in the styling. The refresh brings it into line with the rest of the Subaru lineup. Like the steering and ride quality improvements the most. Thanks for tuning in and the feedback. Much appreciated.

Since 2019 my base pay has gone from 78K to 122K. I still won't pay some insane price for a car anyway. I have a paid for outback. No debt. If I can't afford a car with cash then I can't afford it. Period.

Good review as usual. Restyling looks good. To expensive for me. This is classified as a Compact suv?? $ 39,000 equipped is insane.?? After taxes dealer fees extended warranty, may push it to al.ost $ 50k.😮😮 At some point people are just going to stop buying from all Automakers.

This is a good car: easy entry/exit, comfortable, spacious, great vision, etc. Also well- damped, quiet ride. Wheel opening cladding is awkward and overdone, same for rocker panel moldings. Huge sun roof likely to be problematic as car ages. Fuel mileage lower than average, probably due to AWD.
. There are already "loaded" Outback and Ascent models. Why not just the basic Forester model and a modest upgrade topping that?? Maybe a $30k base and a $32-33 single upgrade. The is a poor value proposition at best..I would prefer a base front drive Tucson or Sportage wth no extras. I can't see any more for small 2-row cuv. Good winter traction: a set of "steelies" and some excellent snow tires like Michelin X-ice or Nokian offerings.Keep up your excellent reports!

What mileage the CVT can last with proper maintenance, wise driving, and no towing?

    • @lennygarrison6836
      @lennygarrison6836 15 днів тому +1

      I would say anywhere between 150k - 200k miles.

Subaru has been using this CVT for quite a while. It should easily last 250k miles with basic fluid services

People complain about the styling and power, but it's the price that is the issue. 40k gets you into a Rav4 hybrid XSE. Nobody is picking this over that.

I drove both and there is a huge difference in driving. Both have cons and pros. Hard to decide. Rav has very low headspace. So if you are tall 😅 you will look funny

Rented RAV4 a few time and the inside looks plastic and cheap compared to Subaru.

Try finding a new Rav4 xse similarly equipped under 45K. It would be over 50k with fees, destination and taxes. The 40/41k xse has 6 speaker audio and no power passenger seats and vegan leather (all ravs are vegan leather by the way). If you love plastic you'll love the rav 4 interior. The only thing the xse has going for it is the hybrid powertrain and the extra horsepower. Its cramped and loud as hell too.

Better to by a real 4x4 Tacoma , frontier, ranger, canyon?

Yeah I’d probably go Honda CRV for that price. It does look better now. I’m even warming up to the vertical screen which I normally don’t love.
