@@sonyawasmer2344 without saying to much for no spoilers (for others) … it was a great way of portraying growing up. Probably made more adults cry than children 💯 Nothing wrong with adults crying from time to time.
@nathancruz9172 yeah. I know Atlantis: The Lost Empire was his last film. I meant Toy Story 2 was Jim's last appearance as Slinky Dog, before eventually replaced by Blake Clark.
I think I missed the moral of the story when I was a kid. It's about choosing to love even though it exposes you to loss, because it's better to love while it lasts than to live in isolation because you're afraid of being hurt. I'm glad this movie was able to be made, because it was almost wasn't. A production mistake nearly caused the entire movie to be deleted when it was almost finished. A screwup caused the files to be deleted, and the data hadn't been backed up due to server issues, meaning they'd potentially lost everything. The only thing that saved the movie was one employee who'd recently had a kid, and had been doing some work from home, so she'd had her own backup on her computer. Her computer was used to restore the files on the main server, and the movie was saved.
Yeah, this movie has one of the most famous production stories in the industry, and the entire incident actually led to some changes in process and how things are backed up on projects like this, which were no doubt overdue heading into an age where we are so entirely dependent on technology and servers and whatnot.
Well, you left out the part where the movie is almost completely different than the file on that employee's computer. BUT, no doubt the movie wouldn't be the same if they had lost that file.
Another fun fact: Barbie was originally gonna be in the first movie, but Matel didn’t think the movie was gonna be a hit so they said no. But it was a mega hit so they let Pixar put her in the sequel
There's a fan theory that Jesse is actually Andy's Mom's doll when she was a little kid. Which also explains the attachment to woodyy and some of the other toys. Because the mom has a personal connection to them. You can tell that in her pass. She has some regrets and is holding on to bits of her happy childhood by keeping these toys in Andy's life.
It also goes a long way towards explaining why she would give her son a toy that was (in the 90’s) 30 to 40 years old with Woody and the accompanying merchandise.
"Did Buzz just get a W[w)oodie?" That has got to be the best line I've heard in a reaction for a long time. I was waiting for Stinky Pete's bloopers, JL'S reaction was perfect. For all the bloopers, actually.
End credit scenes always killed me lol, i thought about this earlier with the dog and it being a disney movie, if you havent seen the homeward bound movies, you have to watch them, homeward bound the incredible journey, and lost in san Francisco, about 2 dogs and a cat! One of my most favorite movies growing up, the first one will make you cry at the end! Definitely worth a watch! ❤
Not much to say about this wonder of a sequel that hasn't been said already, but to me it's sheer perfection that builds upon the original Toy Story in every possible way. The screenplay ALONE features a level of heart and pathos that shines even more than in the first, and I believe that the performances and VASTLY impoved animation only add to the feeling that you're watching something truly special. Also, fun fact for TV lovers: the voice of "The Cleaner" (the old man who repairs Woody) belongs to none other than Jonathan Harris, who played the hilariously dastardly Dr. Zachary Smith in the 60s cult sci-fi series 'Lost in Space,' one of my favorite television shows (that I believe J would get a kick out of if he watched it on his own)!
when the penguin says, ' i think i feel a song coming on! and they toss him the mic- i feel like that's one of the greatest moments in cinematic history!
There is always a tear somewhere in these; which amazes me. Jessie's song is a toughy. On the other end though, those little aliens tickle me too. No matter what that actor portrays, he is 100% Newman to me too.
Fun Fact: When this film was being created, one of the animators mistakenly activated a delete program, and many things in the movie disappeared. The program was cancelled, but a huge portion of the movie was gone. Thankfully, another animator had copies of the scenes at home and brought them back to Pixar, and the movie was later completed.

Mix in half a "roll over" and it gets real dramatic.
The third one is where I really lose it. Having grown up with the movies being 5 in 1995 and 20 for TS3. A whole childhood contained in a trilogy. Just makes me sad how fast life goes by. Hug your loved ones while ya got em.

15:32 - The Cleaner is a cameo by Geri of the Pixar short Geri's Game. It's a short about an old man playing chess with himself in a park. Here's a link to it: ua-cam.com/video/uMVtpCPx8ow/v-deo.html
16:49 - Tour Guide Barbie is, of course, reference to the joke that there's a Barbie for every profession. That said, there was never a 'Tour Guide Barbie' before this movie. Afterwards, however...
24:23 - If you think back to the first movie, Buzz's description of his mission sounded a little bit (read : EXACTLY) like R2's mission from A New Hope.
31:05 - Pixar started adding bloopers to their movies with A Bug's Life, which came before Toy Story 2. A Bug's Life is also the movie Geri's Game was released in front of.
33:18 - A lot of people have thought that, but the producers have confirmed that's not the case.
Love your reactions so much! If you haven't seen it, I'd love to see your reaction to the animated movie, The Fox and the Hound.
I once bought all the Toy Story characters then came on Jessie's face then immediately left the room, knowing the other toys would try to console her, but not be able to wipe her face because it would reveal that they come alive when no one is looking.
I never played under the covers like in the movie but I had one of those tents over my bed bc I was scared of the dark. My dad always wanted to watch scary movies with me so stuff like Poltergeist and The Fly were constantly in my nightmares 😅
3 and 4 will make you cry, they do me. Everytime I watch them.
Me too
I love the Potato beef.
I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 5.
