I love how you drop the names of other sellers and their booths it helps connect the faces to the owners when you run into each other at the flea markets. Man I wanna road trip to this shop.
That green teapot or chocolate pot with the cups that was hand painted was soooo gorgeous!! I agree with others that you could hang the parasols with light for decor in her room! Also love your hair!! You are such a pretty woman regardless but the brown brings out your eyes and cheek bones.
I love the parasols. I have a twin sister. When we were in Jr. High our Chorus teacher had us to sing Ain't She Sweet with parasols. Just my siater and I. We performed in front of the whole school and parents in the evening. It was so fun.
I also loved parasols when I was little and my mother bought me a red one and she had four patio sized parasols for her bridge garden parties. That was my childhood in the sixties. You can never have too many parasols.
2:00 I was so happy when you opened the cupboard because I was saying “Paul always hides stuff inside.” And then you said it AND he didn’t disappoint. That stuff was beautifully arranged!
You can fix Sissy's Parasol pretty easily with a bit of tissue paper and mod podge. Also, they look really cool hung upside down from the ceiling with lights in them.
The mugs look like the spice of life pattern. It's nice seeing Andrew , miss his humor. I hear him occasionally in the background. The peacock 🦚 was amazing!
Thanks for taking us along on this fun trip to Bedford Antiques. I haven't been there since my son moved from Carlisle to Harrisburg. I love that you got the parasols for Juliette! I agree with Misty, that whale bank was so fun! You got some nice pieces! 💕
Before you sell or use the candle holder and vase just do a quick water test with the vase because sometimes they leak over time. We used them all the time for weddings at the flower shop, sometimes they started to leak. If it starts to leak. Just take a quick stop at a local flower shop and ask them from about an inch worth of "floral putty" green or white doesn't matter because it will be hidden in the bottom of the vase. Don't go buy a whole roll of it at a craft store because you won't need that much, and you will be wasting your money. The putty needs to be stretched and rolled up in your fingers to make it sticky. Put a little bit in at a time to seal the bottom. Then try water again to see if it still leaks. It should be ok. Text me if you have any questions. Your happy florist at your service. 😆
The teapot that has butterflies on it is Adorable and I recently purchased 4 cups that match it :). So I’m hoping you purchased it so I can buy it. 🦋🦋🦋🦋
I have 2 glass sugar bowls with lids like the one you thught had a broken finial. Both of them have the lids like yours and looks like the point where the tube was cut off. Mine are old and from my dad's family in Meadville, PA. Don't know how old, but grandmother died in 1960.
The Bristol vases were not a matched pair. They were similar, but one had a gold band around the bottom and the center decorations were a bit different and placed differently on the vase.
When i was a kid we had one of those Christmas trees. I was adopted by my grandparents an after my gpa passed we moved an before the move my uncle an aunt helped pack an they threw out all of our Christmas things including the tree. I have been trying to find one for a long time.
I would buy nice things to decorate at Christmas 🎄. After Christmas I would carefully package each item for storage and use the next year. He would take the boxes to store and it seemed like Ace Ventura from the opening of the movie as a package delivery guy had handled the boxes. Never let drunks help.
🦋I had this Mushroom Mugs at one time in my life. I always look for forks like pictured next to the Bristol Vases. Sometimes they have bone or ivory handles. I have a few and a butter knife.
Not sure if J* prefers to PLAY with the parasols but I saw a cool idea somewhere of hanging them in a corner of a room with a string of lights back lighting them for a cool effect! Not sure if she is into that sort of thing for her room... but putting it out there! lol Love "Shopping" with you guys! Hello from Minnesota!
00:26 That's straight out of my childhood! They're Corelle "Spice of Life" pattern mugs. The whole set was positively enormous; it had every piece of Corning ovenware and matching Corelle tableware that you could possibly think of. Seems like you couldn't have a 1970s kitchen without at least a few Spice of Life pieces somewhere in it. I still have a deep casserole dish in my cupboard, more than forty years later. It's da bomb for oven pies - shepherd's, cottage, steak-and-kidney, or toad in the hole. 00:43 When you're that ubiquitous, who needs markings? 😄 01:05 Andrew, she said _hold_ the phone! That means the person on the other end has stepped away for a minute. 01:27 What I got from it is "C??auer" or "C??auen". Couldn't get anywhere with an image search, though. 05:47 And it's not like that's awful, catastrophic damage either. Some reinforcing tissue underneath, a little wheat paste, a couple of coats of lacquer, and you're golden. It is totally a bargain at two bucks. ... Honestly, the darker blue one is a steal at four. I would snarf them both. 07:10 Ooooh, the octopus pattern is entrancing. It feels almost Roman. 12:08 You're dead on the mark. It's a griffin. And yes he's cast, and yes his paint is pretty poor. It's bad enough that I would consider stripping him, and re-japanning him completely . 13:31 It's a very Beaux-Arts looking candelabra.
On Antiques Roadshow UK they hate those wall hangers for plates as they put the porcelain under pressure causing cracks or chips You even have to be careful when cutting them off as you can suddenly put pressure on the diagonal
