Watched some of your videos, question- these mega spots, they can live/show up in any part of the lake or they always stay in south end/main body, usually schooling with strippers?Do they swim into the creeks like six mile on the left side of the bridge on Browns Bridge hwy if you go from Hammonds north?
I'm going to break your question into a few sections. The big spots will live shallow during the fall and also spend large amounts of their life out deep as well. I typically will stay from Browns Bridge down to large true magnum spots. Big spots will definitely move thier way into the creeks as the Fall continues into October.
@brooksandersonfishing kk thank you for the reply I've been getting skunked for months lol I fish once a week at lake lanier and having trouble catching anything

Those are good examples of how big Alabama Spotted Bass can get when there is enough forage in the lake to support them. They are invasive but can get huge when they are fed. Our lakes in the Triad area in NC doesn't seem to have enough bait to make them grow. A few of our lakes have been compromised to the detriment of largemouth and smallmouth because of anglers toting these Alabama bass in their livewells and letting them go in other lakes. Now there are signs put up by our wildlife commission stating to take every Alabama bass out of the lake we can catch. Several predominant largemouth and smallmouth fisheries here have been taken over by this invasive fish and are no more than a couple pounds each. Not many "big" largemouth and smallmouth are caught locally.
@@eddiemoser8829 Lanier is a world class spotted bass fishery with all of the perfect ingredients! We wouldn’t trade these fish or the herring for anything! I can see how in separate circumstances without the proper forage competition is an issue.
Man I’m loving the catches. How would you break down a non-herring deep water (clear) lake this time of year. To find bigger than average spots. Think Smith, Wedowee, Martin. I’m just curious of your process (I don’t get to fish Lanier often)
Hey Tony, great question! I have fished Martin and Smith a fair amount over the years! I have caught my larger spots on non herring spotted bass fishery's with a jig primarily. I would target smaller schools on structure such as brush and stumps.
@@brooksandersonfishing thanks for the response. A jig has been my staple for sure. I’ve recently gotten more in tune with my electronics looking for brush with fish in it. I’ve incorporated the fluke and drop shot. I’ve still not had great success with a minnow… My next step is to create a milk run because my current habit is to sit on a pile for way too long. Thanks for the response and can’t wait to see more
The minnow is definitely a player anytime your around spotted bass it can be tricky for sure! The biggest key is to constantly be moving when you are fishing for spots! Tight lines!
CAST gonna get you right everytime ❗️

What colors of that OG you like the best? For cloudy and for sunny days? I see it does not come in true chrome color.
I throw three colors, river grey which is great in sunny conditions! I also throw Bone and Herring when clouds and wind are present!
Awesome video! Love how engaged you are with the audience, makes it way more fun to watch!

Do you fish flukes weightless?
I fish them both weighted and weightless depends on the time of year and activity level of the fish.
